Published: July 2006 “I have decided that since 2006 is the tenth anniversary of the original first draft of Vrarg Vnutry, throughout the remainder of 2005 I shall endeavour to re-type the rest of this novel. This should, hopefully, ensure that by the time we begin celebrating the fifth anniversary of "The Legacy" the original inspiration will be available for all to read. I will be cleaning up the prose, and improving things as I go along, but I shall not remove anything from it as it is still my intention to present the story the way it was originally devised, even if a lot of the events have since been contradicted by BBC Books Past Doctor’s range and Big Finish’s Doctor Who audio dramas, not to mention the first five seasons of "The Legacy" itself. The only substantial change, which has no effect on the actual story, is changing Terrance’s best mate from Ben to Jake and making him a gay man – just to balance out the Christian aspects of the novel. “And, as a special bonus treat, I shall include the completed first eight chapters of Catalyst, the first of two proposed sequels that followed the Master’s second attempt to alter both his and the Doctor’s past. It is the concept behind this second novel that became "The Legacy". Indeed parts of chapters one – four actually made it into "The Legacy’s" first story “Cataclysm” (including the title, more or less). I hope you all enjoy it and, like me, find it interesting to (re)visit the origins of Doctor Who: The Legacy…” – Andy Frankham, Sept 2005.
