Then we headed out again, to try to get over the mountains - had to get to a gravel road, but it was still closed for the winter/spring. We need to go back in the summer when it's open, since it sounded like an amazing drive. So we ended up just taking some pictures on the drive up to where it was blocked to traffic:

By the time we got back, even Orion was tired. He climbed into my sleeping bag and dared me to try to get in around him.
