DANCE OF THE MAYFLIES
We enter this episode by seeing Andromeda attempting to save the inhabitants of a space station who have apparently been infected with some kind of plague. The 'survivors' (though they're not very lively) are taken aboard the ship where Trance and Beka try to help them.
Andromeda must escape the Than - the race responsible for attacking the station, and Andromeda's so-called allies. The Than then turn on our heroes, leaving Dylan wandering just what the fudge is going on.
The survivors of the attack don't survive much longer. Beka, who has been helping Trance collapses. It seems she has all the symptoms of the disease.
Dylan orders Harper to seal himself in the Maru because, and I quote, his 'immune system sucks'. He is reluctant but goes anyway. Meanwhile the fatalities have not taken too kindly to death and their corpses have risen.
Trance tried to discover how the disease is spread while Beka's condition gets worse. At the same time Dylan must fight off the zombies AND the Than. Andromeda hides in an asteroid field. Harper sneaks out of the Maru in a biosuit to try and help. He and Dylan deduce that an electrical charge should incapacitate the corpses.
After the zombies attack the medical bay Trance becomes instantly infected with what become apparent as an alien species that moves from body to body. It spreads by infesting the living through inhalation, then when the subject falls unconscious, they die and the Bokar (the aliens) are free to take over the body. Dylan wonders why Trance was taken over so quickly - and after a groovy fight he realises that maybe Trance wasn't alive to kill. He shoots her with an electrical charge destroying the Bokar inside.
Trance, now alien free, figures out a way to use nanobots to cure Beka. The problem goes away and Dylan is left spouting some emotional drivel to Rommie- who has just realised her friends aren't going to live forever. There's some cheesy end-line material and the episode is over.
