IN HEAVEN NOW ARE THREE
Beka invites Tyr on a mission involving herself and Trance to go and find the legendary 'Engine of Creation' - though Beka can't tell Tyr what they are going to find. Trance explains bluntly that Tyr will die if he goes on the mission.
Seeing as Harper and Rommie are away, Beka reluctantly asks Dylan to go instead. She needs two people to accompany her because the prophetic words of some guy said that three would get the Engine.
While down on the planet the Engine is supposed to reside, Beka gets annoyed with Dylan because she feels he is trying to take over and be the Captain again.
After finding a previous archaeological expedition slaughtered, the three run into another trio after the Engine. They are Fletcher, Duran and their servant Flux. Flethcer holds a gun to Trance (not that that will do anyone any good) but the two groups eventually part ways.
While the others sleep Trance has a bizarre conversation with Flux (who has a ridiculous accent). Dylan and Beka overhear but nothing much happens about this. In the morning the three set off for a temple in which the Engine should be found.
Inside, they are attacked by a spinny sharp thing before reaching the shelter of a room. (Not before Dylan's froce lance get chopped in half) In the room they must solve an incredibly easy riddle to get the Engine. But when the compartment opens nothing is there. Behind them a powder is mixing with a fluid to form cyanide gas. The three get out in time but are met by Fletcher and his posse.
Before Dylan and the others discover who exactly beat them to the Engine, the natives surround them and take them prisoner.
It appears the natives, led by a rather Stargate-esque looking woman, want two volunteers, one from each side to fight - in order to see who is worthy of the Engine. Some squabbles arise but eventually the two combatants are decided as Dylan and Fletcher.
In the 'ring' some figthing occurs. Trance has a conversation with Flux, who turns out to be another of Trance's race. We don't learn anything though. Meanwhilst Dylan and Fletcher are still at it when Duran jumps into the ring too, closely followed by Beka. After some majorly tacky "I won't finish him off" business the natives deem Beka's trio as worthy.
On the Maru they discover the Engine doesn't work. They decide that maybe what they have is only a part of the Engine. Too bad.

Review
I cannot stress just
how bad this episode really was. It actually made me laugh, the amount of
cliches, the horrendous plot and pathetic dialogue. Some might say it was meant
to be like this, to poke fun at itself but I really couldn't believe that for a
second.
First of all, the whole Trance
thing just bugs me to high heaven, as you may already know - and this episode
told us nothing about her identity, as with all the episodes that have addressed
Trance's little facade.
The booby traps and riddles
aren't very impressive at all. When the cyanide began to mix, now there was an
okay idea, but the threat seemed to dissipate quickly and rather than panicking,
they managed to not breath any in and just walked straight out the door. Right.
This Indiana Jones style episode
really did suck. I have not seen the likes of such crappiness since The Devil
Take The Hindmost.
