OUROBOROS
This episode begins with a holographic message from Rev Bem announcing that he's leaving. Everyone is mildly upset except Harper who wants to go and find him. Dylan says that Rev has made his wishes clear. Harper snaps at him and leaves.
Dylan follows Harper who explains that Rev promised to find a way to remove his Magog larvae. Before the two can get deep into conversation Harper doubles over in pain - his larvae are causing him pain. Dylan gives him the medication but it doesn't work. The larvae are hatching! While Harper borders on unconsciousness he sees a strange image of himself in a different situation. Dylan tells Trance to prepare the med-deck. All this before the credits!
Trance concludes Harper has about a week to live. Dylan sets about finding the Perseid scientists Hööhne and Rekeeb. Harper wants them to help him build a machine from Satrina's technology to fold time and space to achieve the ultimate goal of removing his larvae.
The Persiad's arrive, very enthusiastic about the machine. But before the work is even finished the crew begin to experience strange distortions in time. Dylan slides down a ladder to find himself decks away from where he was, and his old crew are running about. Beka and Trance get trapped on the Maru fighting aliens they've never fought before and realise they must be in the future. Beka runs into her future self complete with new mechanical arm, a cybernetic eye and some kids!
Everyone comes to the conclusion they must either get to the machine shop where the time folding machine is being built (by droids) or Command to move the ship away from the planet they're near. The planet is also experiencing time and space distortion.
Harper and the two Persiads try to find the machine shop but after going through a door find themselves over the pit in the engine room and despite a hefty effort by Harper, Hööhne dies.
On the Maru Beka and Trance bump into future Trance who has a new look, some fighting skills and a proposition. She explains to present Trance that she made a lot of mistakes and the perfect future they were striving for has not come to be. So present Trance and future Trance decide to swap places. Beka is not too happy. She wants answers but Trance doesn't give them.
Everyone finally ends up in the machine shop faced with a difficult decision. The machine is finished and when Trance explains that destroying the machine would make it so none of the distortions ever happened, thhe crew must decide whether or not to destroy it - saving Hööhne's life but allowing Harper to die. The decision comes down to him. He decides he can't let Hööhne die over him. They should destroy it.
Trance however, has other ideas. She activates the machine without orders, saving Harper's life.
When everything is over Dylan and the new Trance have words. Dylan doesn't trust her yet and she asks for a chance to earn his trust.

Review
Tyr - A small amount of
kick-butt, plus some mild sentiment at the end, Tyr didn’t feature heavily but
it was still a good moment when he made it clear that if anyone was going to
kill Harper it would be him because he made a promise.
Beka - I thought her future self
looked kinda cool. She had children too! Makes you wonder about the future she
and Trance lived. Guess we’ll never know.
Trance - Big Trance turning
point. I liked the new look of her future self but her personality is arrogant
and annoying. I preferred the other Trance. I hope the writers realise that one
day they will *actually* have to tell the audience what the fudge is going on
with her. Maybe they could do one of those episode where they everyone finds out
but then they forget due to some kind of weird spacey thing or time travel - but
of course we would still know. I think I’d be more on Trance’s side if I
knew what she was all about.
Harper - Yey! He’s finally
cured! Harper played a big part in this episode and had to make some big
decisions. The biggest, of course, being his life or Hohne. In the end he nobly
chose his mate but Trance decided to act on her own. I don’t think Harper and
Trance are going to get back to normal any time soon.
Rev - is gone. His message was
probably as vague as you could get. His moment was so small I can’t even think
of anything to write.
Dylan - I liked his sentiment
towards the others, saying they were like family. He also seemed to have a
respect for everyone’s wishes philosophy in this episode. Glad to see he
didn’t trust Trance too much either.
Rommie - New hair looks cool. She
also said some emotional stuff with Dylan about the Harper and the others but it
was like she didn’t like how attached she’d become.
Overall I pretty much loved this
episode even though Trance just bugs me to high heaven at the moment.
