THE WIDENING GYRE
This was such a cool episode! Oops, I'll save that for my review. Sorry.
The season opener began where it left off on the bridge of the andromeda. Beka is the first to wake up and she has to perform CPR on Dylan. She gets him back but he's still unconscious.
When Trance is awake Beka passes out again and it's up to her to get the two to med-deck. The droids help her, as does Rommies in her physical form - obviously not as badly damaged as we'd thought - and they fight their way through the straggles of Magog that are left.
Harper and Tyr have been glued to a wall with Magog sticky sputem (ew). Harper wakes up to find his stomach moving. He has been infested with Magog eggs. He panics and starts shouting and screaming. Tyr is still unconscious.
Rev is on one of the Magog planets, fighting off several of them. The Magog leader finds him out and takes him to see their god - scary sillohette guy - where Rev supposedly gives in and comes over to the dark side of the force.
Dylan and Beka awaken. Dylan says that he and Rommie will go down to the planet to rescue Tyr, Harper and Rev and if they aren't back in three hours she should deploy a nova bomb that he handily blagged from somewhere.
Tyr wakes up and tries to clam Harper down by telling him a story about when he was sixteen and got buried under tons of rubble in a mine. Then Dylan contacts Harper on his comm and tells them to make a lot of noise so they can find them.
Harper gets his hand free just as Rev and the Magog leader come round the corner. Rev kills the Magog leader.
Back on Andromeda, times up and Beka has no choice but to deploy the bomb. The bomb strikes but to everyones surprise and dismay, it fails to destroy the Magog structure.
Everyone manages to get back to the Maru and to Andromeda. Andromeda quickly enters Slipstream.
Harper wakes up on med-deck and thinks all that happened was a nightmare. Trance, Rev and Tyr tell him that it wasn't. Harper has to take a drug religiously until they can find out how to take out the Magog eggs that have infested him. But eventually the drugs will become ineffective and he will die.
Dylan and Beka discuss the structure. It wasn't destroyed and Dylan syas the only way they can do that is to get an army and attack it full on. I smell the season two plot coming.

Review
This was a great
episode to start off the season though it made me laugh in a coupla places.
We first find out
that no-one is in fact as hurt as we thought. The gaping hole in Rommie
magically turns into a little scratch and Beka and Trance are pretty much
fine. Beka has to perform CPR on Dylan but it's still a little too easy. But
maybe that's because I've seen too many people do that.
I did like it when
those huge funky droids came shooting on the outside of Andromeda at the Magog
ships. I remembered them from the first episode!
Harper and Tyr
wake up on the Magog planet. Harper has been infested! Actually they both have
but Harper got it worse. Poor baby! When he Trance told him it wasn't a
nightmare I just wanted to give him a hug! Heh heh. Gordon Micheal Woolvett is
a great actor. :)
They managed to
set up the whole of next season in the first episode was funny. I can't wait
for the next episode so they did their job!
Unfortunately I
was unable to concentrate on anything other than Harper's situation. Poor
thing! Damn now I have to wait a week to see what happens.
