The new High-definitely television is a very high quality image. It can even look clearer than DVD. By the end of 2006 the FCC has created a plan that will turn our top TV stations and media production companies from analog TV to new HDTV for their broadcasts. Although now prices are exceedingly high, this article predicts that like all electronics, when the demand rises the price for these TV’s will fall. The top TV stations like NBC are already spending millions of dollars in new equipment for the upgrade. The transition until 2006 will make it easier, as TV’s with HDTV capabilities are already being sold and have been for several years. Many of our TV’s are HDTV compatible and we don’t even know it. The starts by explaining that HDTV as opposed to analog TV more than doubles the pixels shown in television, and it has an aspect ratio of 16:9 as opposed to the old 4:3. Thus making a much clearer image. Then, after explaining why it should interest us, it goes on to explain the FCC regulation making our free channels HDTV in 2006. But it also makes sure to clarify that price will not be outrageous and this television technology will be the norm in price similar to what we spend today on analog television.
