Freedon Nadd started out as a Jedi Knight but was seduced to the Dark Side of the Force. Hoping to become a Dark Lord of the Sith one day, he managed to apprentice himself to one. But he soon realized that he would never rule as long as the master lived. So he left his homeworld and went to Onderon, a small planet where he made himself King. It soon became the central focus for the powers of the Dark Side, and many of those who used the Force journeyed there. When Nadd died, he was mummified and buried in a tomb on Onderon. But his spirit continued to keep the planet strong in the Dark Side by teaching each ruler the ways of the Sith. His tomb was discovered and became a place of evil where Dark Side energy concentrated. However, the Jedi sent Ulic Qel-Droma and two other Jedi to negotiate the Sith rule. They stopped the Beast Wars of Onderon and also the Freedon Nadd uprising. His corpse was later hidden on the Duxun moon, where Exar Kun was later led. Nadd's spirit convinced Kun to turn to the Dark Side, upon which he showed him the Sith secrets on Korriban and Yavin IV. He told Kun to take the scrolls into the tomb to give him great power. But Nadd's real plan was to use his body so that he could rule Onderon again. But Kun learned of this and destroyed the spirit of Nadd with a Sith amulet, causing the Sith powers to on Nadd.
