In the preproduction sketches, and right up until the practical models were built, it was assumed that the Battle Droids would be stark white, much like the Stormtroopers of the original trilogy. Once they went to CGI, the color was changed slightly, so I painted my extra Battle Droid back (actually my extra one was green, cause it's a Kashyyyk version).
