Qui-Gon + Shmi
by Meals

Every time those two are near each other there's some kinds of unresolved sexual tension thingy going on. I totally agree- something is up. - that hand on shoulder action is pretty intimate if you ask me!
Also I don't know too much about the true backstory of star wars- but, where are shmi's other kids or at least the brother that luke is raised with!?? Maybe there were consequences to their little sneaky affair! ahemmm!

1.) An excerpt from and interview of actress Pernilla August and Star Wars Insider magazine.
SWI:"Liam Neeson said you and he wished there had been some more romance between your characters."
Pernilla August:"We do!"
SWI:"Do you personally wish there had been a kissing scene between you and Liam Neeson in Episode I?"
Pernilla August:"Actually, I suggested it to George one day. The goodbye scene. But it was more for fun."
SWI:"And what did he say?"
Pernilla August:"No, I'm sorry, I don't think it's that kind of movie."

and some other interview-
"Liam Neeson says, "We're not talking about clothes being thrown off. Just a hint of intimacy... We've got to keep the adults happy, too," and it was  apparent that he lobbied for the various affectionate or comforting shoulder touches we see in the movie, particularly the subtle caress he gives Shmi with his thumb as he asks her if she will be all right just after breaking the news of Anakin's freedom."
