Explanation of the conversion: The Density Increase represends his extreemly heavy musclebound body, the Life Support is based on demonstrated ability to not need to breath when fighting Quasar III.
History: Lloyd Bloch served as an agent of the Secret Empire II in an attempt to discredit Captain America. He was defeated by Captain America (Captain America and The Falcon #169-175).
Later Dr. Karla Sofen was assigned to evaluate him, and she hyptnotized him into giving her the Moonstone power and she became Moonstone II (Incredible Hulk #229).
Lloyd was institutionalized for years where he met a fellow patient who had worked for Count Nefaria, and claimed to have recovered the process used to give the Count his power. Lloyd volunteered to be his test subject and it was successful. Lloyd, now calling himself Nefarius, made his way to the courthouse where Moonstone II was on trial for her criminal acts. He kidnapped her and intended to kill her, but Moonstone II was able to distract him until Quasar III and Captain America were able to follow him. Nefarius was eventually laid low by a twin blast of Moonstone II's energy beams directly in both ears. Nefarius and Moonstone II were taken to the Vault, a prison for super criminals (Captain America #379).
Once Nefarius was there he broke free and attacked Moonstone II. Hercules, Giant-Man and Vision II managed to defeat Nefarius after a fierce battle, and Black Widow convinced Moonstone II to surrender and return to custody peacefully lest she face further charges
(Avengers Unplugged #1).
Nefarius was killed by Count Nefaria when Nefaria returned from the dead as an ionic vampire, however since ionic beings have a habit of returning from the dead it isn't believed that the last has been seen of Nefarius (Iron Man Annual '99).
Powers: Lloyd was granted powers similar to Count Nefaria, whose powers were augmeted versions of Power Man's, the Living Laser's and the Whirlwind's powers. He is superhumanly strong and
resistant to damage, can shoot lasers out of his eyes, and run as speeds over 100 miles per hour. He usually travels by leaping similar to the way the Hulk does. Unlike many ionic powered beings Nefarius hasn't displayed the ability to fly, probably because he is rather new to his abilities.
