Explanation of the conversion:
History: Storm is the descendant of an ancient line of African
priestesses, all of whom have white hair, blue eyes, and the
potential to wield magic. Her mother, N'Dare, was the princess of a
tribe in Kenya. She married the American photojournalist David Munroe
and moved with him to Manhattan, where Ororo was born.
When Ororo was six months old, she and her parents moved to Cairo,
Egypt. Five years later, their home was destroyed by a bomb. Ororo's
parents were killed, but she survived, buried under rubble near her
mother's body. This traumatizing effect left Ororo with the severe
claustrophobia that still afflicts her today.
Homeless and orphaned, Ororo came under the tutelage of master
thief Achmed el-Gibar. She became his prize pupil in thievery and in
picking locks.
Years later, feeling a strong urge to go south, Ororo journeyed
alone across the Sahara Desert and finally reached her ancestors'
homeland, the Serengeti Plain, which lies in the modern nations of
Kenya and Tanzania. By this time her mutant power to control the
weather had emerged, and she used it to help the local tribes, who
worshipped her as a goddess.
Ororo remained with the tribes for years until Professor Charles
Xavier recruited her into the new team of X-Men he was assembling.
She was given the code-name Storm after her power to affect the
weather. Except for brief periods away from the team, Storm has
remained in the X-Men ever since and shares leadership of the X-Men
with Cyclops.
Once it was established that Bruce Banner's mind was in control of the Hulk's body, the Hulk was treated to a celebration in New York City where he received a presidential pardon from Ronald Reagan, the key to the city, and praise from a number of superheroes, including Storm (Incredible Hulk #279).
Sprite worried about the disappearance of Colossus when Colossus was invited to take on the Champion of the Universe in a fighting contest at Madison Square Garden (Marvel Two-In-One Annual #7).
She was chosen by Ghaur the Deviant priest to be a bride of the demon Set.
Ororo was among the heroes who were mentally compelled into joining the Goddess in her Infinity Crusade (Infinity Crusade #1).
Trivia: In the alternate time line depicted in New Warriors #11 to #13
Storm was a member of the Avengers.
Note: The character of Storm appeared in the X-Men film as well as X-Men and X-Men:
Evolution television series.
Trivia: In the alternate future depicted in What If II #114 Ororo married and had a daughter with fellow X-Man Wolverine and named her Kendall Logan. This daughter became the hero known as Torrent, having some of her mother's control over weather as well as his father's feral abilities.
Trivia: When the people at Marvel were making up the new X-Men lineup, the character of storm started out ar two different characters. One was a European man with a long cape who controlled the weather, and one was an African woman who was a thief and could shapeshift into a cat. They kept the name, cape and powers of the man, and combined them with the looks and history of the woman to make who we now know as Storm.
Powers: Storm has the psionic ability to control the
weather over limited areas. She can fly by creating winds strong
enough to support her weight. Storm has limited immunity to extreme
heat and cold.
For a short time she inhabited the body of the White Queen, and while there had extensive telepathic powers.
