Conversion Notes: The Characteristics, Powers and Skills here represent the minimum found in a cyclops, but they are often much higher. This write-up uses Champions 5th edition rules. The abilities for the greater cyclops are in addition to those for the normal cyclops.
The cyclops are a race of large and long lived humanoids with a single eye who stand at least 14 feet tall, often larger. Most have a dislike for titans, changlings and trolls. Cyclops are immune to any electricity effects, and take half damage from all other types of energy. They can see the dark.
Many cyclops know the ancient secret of forging lightning javelins, it is said that only a cyclops can forge a lightning javelin without hear of retribution. If a cyclops characters knows this secret, add the following:
- Killing Attack: Ranged (Lightning Javelins) - 7D6 damage, trigger - when thrown and hit something hard (+1/4), explosion (+1/2) extra time - 1 hour (-2 1/2), focus - obvious accessible - material components (-1), concentrate - half DCV - constant (-1/2), gestures - constant (-1/2) - Cost 184/33
Besides the common cyclops there is a race of greater cyclops, who are considered godlings. They appear the same as a normal cyclops but do not age past maturity, are tougher, smarter and regenerate damage done to them. They may also have other godly powers. These beings are commonly associated with the pantheon of the greek gods.
Cyclops are commonly allies with kobolds, ogres, jotans, gigantes, nimro and dragons. They can become almost any occupation and can learn magic or gain psionic abilities.
To learn more about the cyclops, I suggest purchasing and reading the Rifts Conversion Book by Kevin Siembieda and Rifts Conversion Book Two: Pantheons of the Megaverse by C.J. Carella.
