Electrum dragons, also known as Draco Magnus electrum, are one of the smaller and rarer dragon types. It is very intelligent. It looks similar to a copper dragon, and would be confused with these more well known dragons if not for it's unique breath weapon and magical abilities. Although it can survive in any climate, it prefers mountains. They can breath a cloud of enfeebling and confusing gas or attack with their powerful claws and bite. They can detect magic items, and can identify them with their touch. When they reach 101 years of age they can dispel magic at will once per day.
Although generally considered an good race of dragons, player characters can play any alignment. Electrum dragon are almost always accomplished spell casters, and can learn a magical occupation.
Electrum dragons compete with red dragons and stone dragons for terratory, and are probably so rare because of this.
Electrum dragons prefer to collect artistic wealth instead of coins. Like most dragons they can live for over 1000 years, see in the dark, sense the presence of invisible things, are immune to sleep and hold spells, and have large wings which allow flight.
