Conversion Notes: This package represents the minimum abilities of a young (16 to 25 year old) gray dragon for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons as presented in Dragon Magazine #146. This write-up uses Champions 5th edition rules.
Gray dragons are one of the smaller, weaker of the common dragon types. Although it can survive in any climate, it prefers frozen tundra and arctic regions. They can breath a cone of paralyzing cold or attack with their powerful claws and bite.
Although generally considered an evil race of dragons, player characters can play any alignment. The major enemies of the gray dragon include silver dragon, who are generally much more powerful unless the gray dragons is much older the the silver in question. They are also rivals to white dragons and chrome dragons.
Some sages believe that gray dragons may be a hybrid of the white dragon and silver dragon, having a skin tone and breath weapon that seems to combine both races.
Their favorite food is frozen meat. Like most dragons they can live for over 1000 years, sense the presence of invisible things, see in the dark, are immune to sleep and hold spells, and have large wings which allow flight.
