<Andrzej Chyra, film actor.
Born: 27 August, 1964, Gryfow Slaski, Poland
Early days. He graduated from High School in Lubin (Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. M. Kopernika) and in 1987 he graduated from the Acting Theater School in Warsaw. In 1994, he majored in Directing at the same university.
Career. He made his film debut in 1993, with the role of Benvollo in the film Order of Affection, directed by Piwowarski. The largest role so far that brought him recognition was as Gerard Nowak in the 1999 film Debt (Dług) by Krauze. This success was repeated in 2005 when he received the PFF Gdynia prize for his role in Komornik. He was also nominated in 2006 for his role in the film, We're All Christs. In 2010 he became a member of the Committee to Support Bronoslaw Komorowski for the office of the President of Polish Republic. In January 2013 he debuted as an opera director directing the Players of Szostakowicz-Meyer.
Prizes, awards. 1999 Best Actor award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for his role in the film Dlug; 2005 award at PFF Gdynia for his role in Komornik; 2006/2007 Aleksander Zelwerowicz prize for his role of Roy M. Cohn in the play Angels in America.
