Dorota Rabczewska (Dorota Rabczewska-Majdan aka Doda aka Doda Elektroda) pop-singer with one of the largest number of awards in Poland.

Summary. In a cycle of reports from Poland in October 2008, CNN placed Doda on the list of 10 best known Poles. On the same CNN list were among others: Fryderyk Chopin, Mikolaj Kopernik (Copernicus) and Lech Walesa.

Early days. Parents: mother Wanda and father, European weigh lifting champion Paweł Rabczewski. She has an older brother, Rafal. In her youth she was coached in athletics for four years (long jump, 100 meters). She won the Championships at Voivodeship for 1000 and 600 meters. She also won a bronze medal for 100 meters in the Polish Championships. She then quit sport for a musical career which she started in 1998 as a teenager, at the Buffo Theater in Warsaw. Simultaneously she was taking singing lessons with Elzbieta Zapendowska (one of the most famous teachers of singing in Poland). She earned popularity due to her participation in the reality show Bar. In 2000, at the age of 16, Rabczewska became the vocalist of the Polish rock band Virgin. Various. She is one of the heroines of Witold Filler's book Od Pierwszych Dam do Dody Elektrody, and of Tomasza Raczek's Karuzela z idolami. In December 2005 and in October 2007, she posed nude for the Polish edition of Playboy Magazine. She also posed for CKM Magazine several times. This caused some controversy in Poland. Rabczewska joined Mensa International in 2004, and she is reported to have an IQ of 156 on the Cattell scale. In 2005, Rabczewska married Polish goalkeeper Radoslaw Majdan, whom she divorced in 2008.

Awards, honors. 2005 Srebrny Slowik Music Award at the 2005 Sopot International Song Festival, 2006. Telekamery 2006 in the category Music; Swira 2006 statuette in the category stage artist; she lent her voice to the dubbing for Asterix and the Vikings (as Abba); Superjedynka award on National Festival of Polish Song in Opole. 2007 MTV Europe Music Awards statuette in the category Best Polish Act; two prizes in Teledysk Roku: Her first solo album released in 2007 was certified as gold on the day before its official release. Doda won three awards at VIVA (Poland) Comet 2007 in the following categories: Female Artist of the Year, Image of the Year, Video of the Year). She played in Krzysztof Zanussi�s film Serce na dłoni. 2008 Superjedynka on 2008 National Festival of Polish Song in Opole as the Best Artist; her album titled Diamond Bitch was certified a double platinum after 60,000 copies of the album had been sold; she took part in a reality show Jazda z Doda which was aired on TVN Turbo; second place in Telekamery for singing "Katharsis" Artysta Roku Prize in Opole Festival; declared Beauty Queen by readers of CKM; Polski Hit award at Sopot Hit Festival for the song "Nie daj sie". 2009 Mirofon Popcornu statuette in the cathegory Years Vocalist-Poland.
