Scorpions Information (continued...)

STING AND VENOM
Scorpion sting with the telson. They inject venom through the aculeus.
Scorpions first capture their prey with pincers then they inject them with venom. For most scorpions, prey can be captured just by crushing them with their pincers.
Another use of the telson is for defense. They use their sting to ward off predators.
The third use of stingers is for mating. Males often sting females and stroke them with their telsons.

HARMFUL FOR HUMANS
Scorpion Venom is not deadly for humans, although it is painful. Humans are less susceptible than other animals to scorpion venom.
The scorpion can inject from 0.006 mg to 2 mg of venom. For venom to kill a human it depends on the toxicity of the venom, the quantity of the venom, the size of the victim, and the medical condition of the victim.

CONCLUSION
Scorpions are poisonous creatures, that can kill humans. They have very dangerous venom and people should avoid them.
Some treatments are available for people who have been stung by a scorpion.
