The Power for The Space Shuttle
The Power of the
Space Shuttle is from the liquid fuel rocket engines mounted in the rear
of the space craft. These are fed with fuel from the liquid fuel tank and
strapped to the underside of the shuttle. Each of the fuel those fuel tanks
are solid fuel rockets. The space shuttle also has two engines in the tail,
called orbital maneuvering engines. These are used for adjustments for
steering. The space shuttle is launched like a rocket with its three rear
engines powered by the fuel tanks. The shuttle takes an up ward thrust
of 1.1 million pounds. After two minutes of lift off the two solid fuel
rocket boosters break off and return to earth.
The Cargo Bay Inside the Shuttle
The Space shuttles can carry
all kinds of things to earth. It carries several satellites, telescopes,
and television screens to show the arms as it operates. The Cargo Bay doors
open once in space and release heat that got built up inside the space
shuttle and so they can work on satellites. Once open they use remote controlled
arms guide with the help of the televisions to help repair and work on
the satellites. The Cargo Bay is very important in the space shuttle and
makes everything easier to do.
