Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights ISU- Home

Welcome to my ISU (Independent Study Unit) web site which discusses the literary science-fiction series Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights, by Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta. I am a student of Mr. Owen's English OAC class at Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.
This ISU is designed to let students work with a considerable amount of independence and initiative, research and explore a specific topic of their own interest, and provide feedback on their thoughts and findings.

Starting this year my school has started a silent reading program, a 20 minute reading period that begins after the morning anouncements, between periods 1 and 2. During that time I have read a number of books, but the three novels that affected me the most will be explored on this web site. I thoroughly enjoy the silent reading program because it has given me a chance to sit down quietly and absorb a good book, a luxury I would not have without the program. Overall I believe that the silent reading program should be made a permanent addition to the daily school schedule, because it can only increase the reading skills of students. Reading is beneficial to the individual, and the silent reading program allows everyone to enjoy a good book, so it is only logical to keep it.

This site provides a wide variety of information and comments on the three books I read during the program.
