Prologue02. Meetings at the Antioch Hotel

A glass container. Sitting in that container – if sitting were the best description – was a silvery gelatinous substance. Two hands held the container and carried it across the virtually empty room. The room seemed to be part of an old house, but it would have been difficult to ascertain what period due to the lack of furniture. In the centre of the room stood a lone podium, on top of which sat a box made from some kind of exotic crystal which had never been seen on Earth before. One of the hands reached out and opened the top of the crystalline box. A green glow emanated from the interior of the box. The other hand tipped the contents of the container into the box and closed the lid once again. ‘And so it begins,’ a voice said. ‘But first, a cup of tea.’ A few moments later the light was switched off and the door was heard closing. The room was empty, except for the lone podium upon which sat a small crystalline box. It seemed to be waiting. Waiting…
