Poetry Links

Hmmm, a poetry page on a Transformers web site. Yeah, TC's adjusting to that as well.

Do you write poetry, TC? No fucking comment. This is just a links page for the time being. Happy munching!

TC's Favourite Poets!

Sylvia Plath

Plath is undoubtedly one of the best American poets of the 20th century. Sadly, it was her death that rocketed her and her poetry to fame. A very intriguing and tragic figure.

Plathonline

Excellent source of Plath's poetry, bibliography and loads o' other Plath linksies.

a wind of such violence

230 of Plath's poems are posted on this page. Bwa!

Anja Beckmann's Plath page

Very detailed with links to books, articles, and what else? More poetry!

Anna Akhmatova

Arguably THE greatest Russian poet of the 20th Century, she lashed out at the Soviet system and although suffered a lifetime of misery because of it, will always be remembered for her unwavering courage.

Jilly's Drive-In

Poems, images, video, quite a well-rounded source for Akhmatova goodness.

Russian Poets of the 20th Century

Some of the best! Akhmatova, also another of TC's faves, Marina Tsvetaeva.

Marina Tsvetaeva

A contemporary of Akhmatova's, but not as famous, Tsvetaeva verses had short, stark brilliance to them. Unfortunately, after the Revolution she, like many poets of the time, were forced into exile for their dissidence against the Soviet government. Tragically, she spent the last decade of her life in poverty and committed suicide in 1941.

The Best of Marina Tsvetaeva

One of the very few Tsvetaeva pages in English, Ilya Shambat gives us most of Tsvetaeva's poetry.

Marina Tsvetaeva, Poetry 1909-1941 **IN RUSSIAN**

All her poetry plus links to other Tsvetaeva goodness, if you can understand it.
