Alan Paine'sTop Ten Women of
"The Twilight Zone"
The Guest Stars
Welcome … the list has been a long time in coming. On the other hand, I have been busy as life forces itself upon me. And, I do this as a fan and lover of beauty. My top ten list here has been terribly difficult. As I was ready to get started and publish, something so rare happened that it is reflective of a Twilight Zone episode. I would have thought that I had seen every episode of the show many times over. This was not the case. Not only did a show I had never seen air, it starred one of the ladies already on my list. It was as if someone offered it for my consideration. Spooky when one considers that the women in question is no longer with us.
Here I do not use presence as a factor in my choices. Men do not surround these women and presence is useless in front of something that is not human. In some cases, the women do not portray humans. The factors in my choices are screen time, my favorite, and other contributions to the science fiction genre. “Star Trek” and “The Twilight Zone” share two significant traits that make them prolific and profound television experiences. They both employed often brilliant writing. They both employed often brilliant and top level talent. Among that talent are some of the most beautiful and talented actresses of the 60s. Each with a long and distinguished body of work, I am honored to honor them here.
