The security systems are all normal. Ships systems are normal. Most of the personnel are on Risa on vacation, but the Captain is gone on a mission of her own while the Commander returns to the Athene from a court martial interrogation just in time to LAND THE SHIP ON RISA ! ! Why can't we be more like our machines?

We have a Cardassian on board now, only he's a Cardassian from a different universe so that means he can join the crew apparently. Our Chief Engineer has dissappeared, and we just arrived at Risa for some shore leave.
It's just another day on the ATHENE. Maybe someday, I'll get used to this ship. (I certainly hope not ! )

I met the Romulan defector for the first time today. He's so closed, so protected, and yet, vulnerable and confused. I can sense such lonliness. The kind of lonliness that I thought only I had felt. I asked him to dinner. Brave, huh? we'll see.

Eventhough I've been on the Athene for almost 3 weeks, I still feel as though I haven't settled. As soon as I came aboard, Security went to Yellow alert and 72 hours later we were battling intruders inside and enemy vessels outside, so I haven't had any down time. I hope I can make some new friends here. I try to stay positive . . . but the silence is deafening sometimes.
