Courage

The armor that we wear
The thoughts that we must learn to share
The body memories our minds must bear
The physical sensations are like a dare

Every day we bear the pain
It seems there's little for us to gain
Like the cloud that brings the rain
Like the spot that makes the stain

Many say let go of the past
Those memories needn't last
Even though we feel harrassed
We're like a stone that has been cast

It's courage to live or courage to die
So much of our life has been a lie
As we look to God toward the sky
We pray for courage to learn to cry
