reckless

back to poems page

into the car
without a care
with too many people
on each others laps
down the road
toward reklessness

into town
without seatbelts
with great speed
on the bridge
down the street
toward carelessness

into the party
without thought
with intentions of fun
on this night of traveling
down the road
toward negligence

into the wilderness
without care
with a bunch of teenagers
on the verge of death
down the path
toward silence

into the ditch
without thought
with loud screams
on the bridge again
down the hill
toward the water

into sleepiness
without knowing
with great fear
on the path
down deeper
toward death

into heaven
without fear
with great comfort
on the day they died
down below is sorrow
toward tomorrow
