This page was created because of the vast Japanese words used on the web, in message boards, in personal messeging, etc. Some of these words were given without any translation. {For example, "minna runs away scared"} What is the average reader who does not know Japanese, or knows a vast amount, but doesn't understand the italicized word, supposed to think of that?
This page was also created because of the numerous Japanese references to Pocket Monsters, and various people wanting to know the meanings of several words.
This page was not created because I think I can TEACH you Japanese with just vocabulary. There is more to Japanese than just vocabulary or animation. I am trying to create a catchall list of words, so if someone does come across "neko" in a English sentence, they will at least understand a bit better than without a translation.
NOTE: There are also anime {ah-"knee"-"may"} fans outside of Japan who use Japanese words but meaning different things. {For example, the word otaku}
NOTE 2: Japanese words are usually NOT capitalized, neither is there a difference between one and many, but if they are, on this page, it is either as written {ala P.V.} or may be a typo! This site tries to appeal to readers of Japanese and English. This site also tries is use a Hepburn system, but may fail in some parts! {One exception is the last names/family names of Japanese people. Example: First Name: Yumi Last Name: Tanaka would be written TANAKA Yumi}
NOTE 3: People on the Internet may write names Eastern style putting the family first! So is Bill Smith was actually Japanese, he would put his name, "Smith Bill." This is also common practice in some Japanese American classes, the teacher telling the students to put their name Japanese/Eastern style, which in turn, messes them up if they introduce themself with their family name first, because the Japanese put every foreign name as said in the original (So, Bill Smith would be Bill Smith.)
NOTE 4: According to {Mister} Ian Andreas Miller's site, Dies Gaudii, I am probably messing up every single idea of romanization! {see the "Romanization: Ten', Kai, and Mei" page of his site!}
NOTE 5: There are many homonyms in Japanese. Someone complained about baibai not being just only an informal way of saying "goodbye", but as "commerce (trade, buying and selling)." {You know what you could also use this page for? Making Japanese parodies of already Japanese songs!}
