Deonica is basically retired. I only connect her up now and again for staff reasons at the HerderHall
Deonica was born at the Main HerderHall at Keroon Hold. Her father was the MasterHerder and her mother was a high-born lady of Holder lineage. Deonica is an only child and the redfruit of her father's eye. She wasn't exactly a tomboy, but more of a rather stuck-up figure in that her father was the boss and he tended to spoil his only girl. Deonica learned a great deal at her father's side. She basicly skipped over the designation as apprentice and went straight to Journeyman, mostly because of who her father was and she simply could not abide by being a lowly apprentice. So, daddy made her a J'man. But, it isn't for lack of knowledge, because she knew as much as any journeyman by the time she was fourteen turns of age.
Her journeying consisted of traveling alongside her father as he was conveyed here and there on herder business. Deonica became primarily interested in breeding, and it was only the best breeding for her. She would work to make ovine wool more soft to the touch. She would try to breed avians that would hatch more eggs. And she dabbled in breeding burdenbeasts with great endurance.
Deonica made Master at only eighteen turns of age, which causes quite a bit of grumbling at the Hall and rumors of 'daddy's little girl'. Their pet name mfor her, Icky, was uttered quite often. The instant she was frocked to Master status, she was also told by her father that she was being posted at Crom Hold. See, Crom had been a thorn in the CraftMaster's side for many turns now, seeing as the CraftHeads there had all been Crom trained. The CraftMaster decided he needed a firmer hold of that far off hall and sent his only daughter there to make sure craft policies were being worked.
Deonica did not like this idea at all. In fact, she hated it with a passion To her Crom was some out of the way dump that worked with caprines and ovines and was well out of the main stream of Pernese life. What about a post at Fort? Or maybe Katx Field? Or even just stay here at Keroon? Alas, her father made her pack up and move to Crom.
As she arrived at Crom, Deonica was not impressed at all with what she had to deal with. But, she had to make a play and assert her authority. Not long after she arrived, basicly on a whim, she went and promoted people to Journeyman or Senior Apprentice, just to prove that she could now. She worked hard to improve the ovine and caprine herds to produce animals that not only were hardy for the rocky environment, but also produced coats that were luxorous enough to make any Weaver desire the fine wool. After about 2 turns, Deonica was made the CraftHeadSecond of the hall at Crom.
