Logfile from Briny.

Weyrhall - Monaco Weyr(#1290RFJM$)

This Hall rises in two open levels. High above the structure's center, a broad-beamed ceiling supports the slate-shingled roof. Carved wood from four massive trees provide pillars that are both functional and decorative. Bounding the entire open chamber is an upper tier with wide stairs affording access from the lower level.

The lower tier is arranged in grand style. Various tapestries adorn the lower walls, and tables, benches, and chairs are placed all about, allowing the entire Weyr's population to gather here. Built into the west wall, a large stone hearth houses a small fire that warms klah and some foods. Across the room, between the eastern pair of pillars, a large table stands laden with pitchers of juice and trays of food. Sitting next to the table are two casks of wine; one marked red, and stamped with a badge indicating it is from the vineyards of the North's Benden Hold, and the other, white with markings indicating origin in the newly-favored regions of the South upriver from the Paradise holding. Above the hearth is a large plaque upon which the symbol of Monaco Weyr, a particolored field of blue above white featuring a leaping dolphin, is emblazoned.

Vasmar is sitting by himself, leaning over the table slightly resting his head against his palm while the elbow balances the weight there.

Briny steps into the caverns. But, she does it a little unconventionally as she enters backwards, apparently finishing up a discussion with another just without. Something of a laugh, a wave, and the girl is coming about -and just in time too, otherwise she would have stepped back right into a table.

Vasmar looks up at the sound of laughter and the dour expression on his face lightens. "Briny!" He sits up a little straighter and offers a wave in her direction.

Briny plucks up a tasty treat of some kind or another from the serving table. Popping the bite-size morsel into her mouth, she looks about to continue on, only to hesitate as her name is called by a familiar voice. She blinks owlishly for a moment before finding Vasmar. Her smile brightens, and she weaves her way through the tables toward him. "How're you doing?"

Vasmar shrugs up his shoulders, "Oh, could be better but I'm alright. It's wonderful to see you." He pushes out a chair, "I haven't seen or heard for you since the other evening. I inquired about you but seems like you're always out and away when I look." He smiles, "How are you?"

Briny chuckles softly, "Well, how else am I going to keep my girlish figure? Always up and running around." Alas, now, it looks as though she is going to be down and sitting. And it is just that she does, plopping into a seat next to him. "I'm fine, but what's the matter?" Concern laces her voice and knits her brows.

Vasmar shakes his head, "oh, kitchen duty has me down." He shrugs, "and a friend of mine is having some troubles with his weyrmate. So I've been trying to help him out and get things settled. I don't know that I am cut out for match making."

Briny frowns slightly. "It seems you are always mentioning the kitchens in a bad way. Have you... uh... have you ever thought of changing positions? I mean, after all, you really should love what you do, Vas." She leans over to slightly ruffle his hair, "As for your friend, do I know them?"

Vasmar catches up Briny's hand and kisses it on the back before letting her go. "I did like what I did before...assisting the steward, but I was demoted for that job. I don't think I can request another job if they've given me this one and what would I do? I can't run anymore, not like I used to anyway." He shrugs, looking sour. "Ah, do you know him? I don't know. Phillps is his name, his weyrmate is Clori--bluerider. Don't recall what wing she's in though."

Briny frowns ever more before giving him a hopefully teasing/bolstering nudge. Hesitantly, she adds, "Ever think of joining a craft? Or even going elsewhere? I mean, if you don't like where you are at now, what's the point?" And then she shakes her head from side to side, "I might have heard those names before, but there are so many riders 'n everyone is so new to me. I don't know."

Vasmar blinks slightly, "but I'm quite happy here. I just don't particularlly enjoy scrubbing dishes and chopping vegitables and cleaning up after the mess some people make. It's fine really, I have other things that make life worth staying here. I can't see myself anywhere else." He chuckles, teasing "you trying to get rid of me?"

Briny laughs and nudges him again. "Noooooo. Not like that. Its just... I don't like seeing people stuck with something they don't enjoy. After all, life is only so long. One must enjoy every bit of it." A teasing wink and a shrug of her shoulders. "After all, if you are gonna be grumpy all the time, how much fun is that? Sure, I could tickle you into a smile, but I think you might object to that after the first sevenday."

Vasmar nods his head, "oh, tickling wouldn't put me in a good mood. I asked the cook if I could start helping out, but everytime I bring it up it starts to work out and then I'm out back on the old duties again." He shrugs, "Not everyone can like their job you know. Sometimes you just have to do what you're assigned and try to make the best of it."

Briny smiles softly as she watches him silently for a long moment. After a couple of breaths, she sighs softly, "I suppose you have a point there. I don't have to like it, but I understand."

Vasmar grins at Briny and smiles at her, "I don't have to like it either." he winks and then reaches out to touch Briny's cheek, "I have missed you so much! Shards it's great to see you."

Briny blushes slightly at the words, her smile quirking to the side with something that might be embarrassment. Her hand reaches up to claim his, fingers interweaving and then drawing his hand into her lap. "Yeah, its nice to see you too. We really do need to find one of those times to just get away, if even for a little bit."

Vasmar nods his head, "I can't think of a better idea!" His hand squeezes hers and he shifts closer hair by hair near to Briny. "I think we should do so very soon!" He pauses, admiring her blushing and his smile widens, "Why Briny, are you alright?"

"Perfectly fine," the messenger girl chimes in all too quickly, grin only managing to widen. "Yes, maybe we will finally get out to hunt down those Cats. Or something along those lines." Briny flashes him a quick wink.

Vasmar winks right back, "well, I've been trying my best to find out what day is best for you. What day you might or might not have off so I can have all your attention." He chuckles and squeezes her hand again.

Briny chuckles softly. "Ohhhh, I think that just about any time you say, I'll make it. It isn't much to talk to a couple of the other messengers to taking my runs for me. Plenty of us, and not that many messages -considering most of the higher-ups have dragons." *grin*

Vasmar nods his head and looks thoughtful, "How about sometime this sevenday? I know I have two or three days I can take and I'm sure Phillps will cover for me another day or two...if you can get that much time as well."

Briny considers this for a moment, watching him thoughtfully as the wheels turns. "I... believe so. That much time in advance, I can ask for it off. Especially if I explain it has to do with a guy I'm trying to find time to spend with." The other girls always go for that mushy stuff.

Vasmar chuckles and flutters his eyelashes in a rather cute manner, "I feel flattered that you would do that for lil' ol me." He chuckles, "It's no secret that I've been trying to get time alone with you. I hope they've been giving you my messages."

Briny blinks and actually blushes further. Oh my, this is just degenerating awfully fast. She swats playfully at him, giggling softly, "Oh my, you really are loving this, aren't you?" Her smile softens just the slightest, "And alone is always nice. Very nice."

Vasmar smiles at Briny, "It does make me happy. I won't lie about that." He smiles even wider, "There goes that blushing again. Are you sure you're feeling alright? You're looking rather flushed my dear." He leans over and kisses her cheek softly.

You know, talking about her blushing is only going to cause the girl to turn an even more vibrant shade of red. "Hush," she admonishes, batting at him playfully. "I'm quite fine, if you don't mind all the shameless flattery." Hand flutters over her face for a moment before she is dropping it to rest on his arm. "I suppose it makes me happy to."

Vasmar smiles, "I think the color is good on you." Then he really does stop taunting her so she can recover from the blush. "The healer gave me a nice bottle of this refreshing oil. I think I'll take it with us on our 'hunt'. Never know if it'll come in handy after a long walk through the wild jungle."

Briny sniffs with derision and then offers him a wry grin, "Now /that/ sounds marvelous. But, I don't want you softening me up too much." She abruptly pushes up from her seat, trotting back to the serving table for a moment to pick up something else to nibble upon. "AFter all, how am I supposed to hunt of Cats if you have me snoozing from a massage half the day." She casts him a wink over her shoulder as she asks, "Want anything while I'm up?"

Vasmar pushes his plate away from him, "A glass of wine if there's any Southern Red there?" He looks hopeful, leaning forward in his chair slightly, "And don't you worry about me getting you too relaxed. We can keep that for the evenings so we'll both have enough energy to do things during the day." There's a sly twinkling in his eyes.

Briny returns with a skin, hopefully with some red within it, along with a plate of food. There looks to be pudding on it, or maybe some really glossy mushed tubers, hard to tell. But, knowing Brin's sweettooth, it would be pudding. "Oh yes. I sure hope you have the stamina to keep up with me." Ahhhhh, the sly teasing.

Vasmar ohs at the taunt, "I guess only time will tell about that. You'll have to try me out and see." Grinning he reaches for the flask, "What is that?" He pokes a finger towards Briny's plate. "Looks awful."

Briny doesn't quite pout, but does a good job of pretending she is. "What do you think it looks like?" she offers right on back, delving a spoon into the mushy stuff and shoveling it into her mouth. Mmmmmmmmm. Another spoon-full is captured, and offered, "Want some?" Of course, seeing how the way she holds the spoon by the handle, and with one finger holding back the spoon's top, it looks more like she is about to start a food fight. And oh, the grin.

Vasmar ducks to the side as though fearing a direct hit from the mush on the spoon, "OH no! I think I'll pass on that." A low chuckle and he fills his glass with wine. Red it is! "It looks like....snot." He teases of her pudding treat.

"Snot?" she drawls slowly, watching him with amusement. "I'll be sure to tell cook you said that." Briny continues to regard him for the longest moment. Ohhhh, but the temptation is just too hard to resist. *Fling-SWOOSH* Yeah, that would be pudding-snot flying thru the air in Vasmar's general direction.

Vasmar is too late to duck the incomming sticky stuff and *splat* It connects with the side of his cheek and neck as he attempts to avoid it. "Ooh, you are in such trouble." He threatens, but there are no remains on his lunch plate. Instead he lunges forward, trying to rub his soiled face against hers.

Briny quite literally squeaks as she is accosted. *Meep!* Hands press against his chest in a futile effort to keep him away from her. Alas, she is slimed. Ewww. "I've got more!" More pudding, that is.

Vasmar laughs, not letting Briny go despite her struggles to free herself from him...at least she'll have to do more than just push at him. "Go ahead..you'll wear half of it!" He grins, eyes flashing. "Naughty thing you are!"

Briny is reduced to an actual squeal next. "Nooooooo!" And then another giggle, sticky and slick fingers scrabbling against him. She arches back abruptly at the sliming to her front, laughing outright now and oblivious to the stares of any of the residents in the cavern.

Vasmar lifts his head and leers at the squeeling Briny between his own laughter, "Do you yield?" He asks, sputtering slightly, some pudding dribbling down the side of his face.

El'ric ambles in from the wide green commons outside.

El'ric has arrived.

"Never!" Briny shrieks rather loudly. She hasn't been known to be one to give in ever so easily. Pudding. She needs more pudding. Well, there is plenty in his hair, and now running down the side of his face. *snicker* "You... uh... You've got something..." She reaches over to claim that dollup from his cheek, and instead smear it over his nose. Ah, triumph gleams in her smile.

Vasmar snorts as she smears the pudding over his nose and with a choke of laughter leans in and rubs his nose along her cheek from eye to jaw, tightening his hold on her. "Not yet huh? You /sure/ about that?" Since he has no food to counter her, he resorts to tickling her where ever he can reach.

El'ric walks into the Weyrhall after a hard day of sweeps, not really paying too much attention to whats going on around him he heads straight for a table with something to drink on it, theres obviously something on his mind. Reaching the table he reaches for a jug and pauses as events eventually catch up with him, "what the..." he turns to survey the scene "what are you pair up to" his gface is looking a bit apprehensive right now as his jaw drops a bit.

Briny is quite sure she is made of sterner stuff, and will not give in to him. Nope. Not done. She hitches at the tickling, giggles bubbling from her once more. "Ohhhhh-Ooooohh!" A laugh, a wiggle and she is sliding from her seat to land on her tush on the ground. *oif-snicker* She blinks up to El'ric, "Uh. Hi."

Vasmar is almost in tears he's laughing so hard when Briny falls from her chair. When she says hello to someone he jerks his head up, pudding coating most of his face and neck, "Oh, good evening." He states rather breathlessly, though in a manner of someone who thinks nothing at all is amiss in the strange situration.

El'ric can't help but let a chuckle out as he breaks out into a big grin, "How are the pair of you doing" he asks as he fetchs up the jug of juice and a mug, "or perhaps I shouldn't ask" he wonders as he leans back against the table, definetly keeping his distance.

Briny slowly pulls herself back up to her feet, brushing back a pudding-soaked lock of hair from her cheek. Ah yes, blushing again. She is rather good at it too. "I'm.... uh... fine." *sparkle-grin* "And also a little bit sticky. I'll just go clean up now." She gives El'ric a rather cheshire grin before leaning in to Vas to give him a quick kiss. "See ya." And with that, she is trotting off.
