Logfile from Briny.

Weyrhall - Monaco Weyr(#1290RFJM$)

This Hall rises in two open levels. High above the structure's center, a broad-beamed ceiling supports the slate-shingled roof. Carved wood from four massive trees provide pillars that are both functional and decorative. Bounding the entire open chamber is an upper tier with wide stairs affording access from the lower level.

The lower tier is arranged in grand style. Various tapestries adorn the lower walls, and tables, benches, and chairs are placed all about, allowing the entire Weyr's population to gather here. Built into the west wall, a large stone hearth houses a small fire that warms klah and some foods. Across the room, between the eastern pair of pillars, a large table stands laden with pitchers of juice and trays of food. Sitting next to the table are two casks of wine; one marked red, and stamped with a badge indicating it is from the vineyards of the North's Benden Hold, and the other, white with markings indicating origin in the newly-favored regions of the South upriver from the Paradise holding. Above the hearth is a large plaque upon which the symbol of Monaco Weyr, a particolored field of blue above white featuring a leaping dolphin, is emblazoned.

Vasmar pushes the chair beside him out with a wide smile, "not at all. i'm just writing some thank you notes to my family." He sighs quietly, "the trip wasn't nearly as bad as I expected."

Briny crosses into the hall, an absent smile on her face. She makes a pass by the serving table to pick up the proverbial cookies. Those things will be the product of her demise. Cookies. Popping one into her mouth, she considers the juices before bypassing them. *chew-chew-chew*

Zahlia chuckles and takes the chair that is pushed out by Vasmar. She settles down in a graceless thud into the chair, "I swear it is strictly perverted the way Violath gets up so early with such a cheerful burst of energy... there should be a law" She takes a sip of her juice and tries to stifle a yawn as she nibbles on some bread.

Vasmar nods his head to Zahlia, "she needs some nice blue dragon to keep her up late nights so she'll sleep in or something." He draws up his shoulders, "I'd think she'd rub off on you after awhile." Teasing, mostly. He doesn't yet notice Briny from the angle he's sitting and continues speaking with the greenrider, "Did you get to see G'briel again after the other night?"

Auntie Valera shakes her head mournfully. "What is this Weyr coming to? I wasn't the one who told you, but that old ragtooth son of a wagon-driver's uncle, Hortus has got himself into a pickle if ever there was one. First his weyrmate and then her best friend and then his brother's wife and now if my keen ears did not deceive me there are going to be four other little baby Hortus' running around this weyr, compliments of those four sweet and innocent tanner sisters only just arrived at Monaco. I guess ol' ragtooth couldn't help but give them a tour of the place. Ha! And they blame it all on dragonriders!"

Briny continues to chew away on her cookie, 'til she hears the familiar voice. Brightening the girl moves forth upon bare feet (yeah, bare feet) to stand behind the kitchen assistant. Smiling happily over to Zahlia, the girl presses a finger to her lips for silence -or, at least not mentioning that Briny is lurking over Vasmar's shoulder.

Zahlia has disconnected.

Vasmar looks curious as Zahlia doesn't respond to him and notices that her attention has been drawn away by something else. He settles back into his chair with a shrug, "Ah well."

Briny smiles happily to herself before she leans forward, and it is the tickle of fingers that pluck at where his shirt meets his neck at the back. *Oif* Next, it is her full weight as she abruptly leans forward and against him, "Suggesting others being kept up late at night, are we?" *grin*

Vasmar jumps nearly out of his skin in startlement as he's first tickled and then pounced. His breath catches he just manages to hold back a yelp of shock. Then he realizes who it is and tries to reach around and tickle her side, "Well, I was fishing for information, yes." He grins, "That handsome Istan greenrider leaves one wondering."

Briny giggles in amusement as she gives him a quick smooch on the cheek before dropping unceremoniously into a seat right beside him. "Oh, are you talking about that new transfer? I met him yesterday. Striking? You bet."

Vasmar nods his head, "and a flirt too." He tries to look very staunch as he says this, sniffing slightly. "How are you doing?" He pauses and leans over a little as she sits down, "I didn't get to tell you but I'm very glad you agreed to go along with me back home to visit the tribe."

"I'm a shameless appreciator of others, but you don't see me visting their beds in the middle of the night, do you?" Briny quips right on back, popping a bit of cookie into her mouth as she flashes him a wink. "I am doing fine. And your tribe was rather fun."

Vasmar nods his head, "I certainly don't, and you'll notice that I have no problem looking myself without touching." He winks at her and nudges her foot with his. "I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. I wasn't sure how it would turn out when we first arrived but, I shouldn't have worried I guess." He reaches for one of her cookies impishly.

Briny's smile grows as she watches him, "They are so terribly fun, and I can see exactly where you get that smile of yours. I saw it enough on your mother. She seems a little hesitant before continuing, eyebrows coming down the slightest , "You... uh... You really don't wanna get involved in others?"

Vasmar looks extreamly pleased as he listens, "that's sweet of you to say." He regards Briny's change of expression guardedly and then shrugs up his shoulders, "I don't have any interest getting involved with anyone else, no. That doesn't make you feel uncomfortable does it? I mean, I understand if you want to, it is a weyr afterall." The last said more as a protective statement though he smiles reasuringly, bracing up.

Briny frowns as she watches him, more evident in her knitting brows that the fine line of her mouth. "Oh! No! No! I mean... Ugh..." She sighs softly, smile growing slowly, "No. Actually, that makes me very, very happy." And, without further ado, she is leaning forward to give him a rather excited smooch.

Vasmar's shoulders relax, "really? But I thought..." but whatever he might have thought is pushed out of mind as he returns the kiss readily, giving Briny a warm hug against him. "Shards, I've been second and third guessing myself." He grins, stroking a finger along side Briny's cheek.

Briny smiles at him softly, "I'm sorry. I thought for sure that... well... you know, this being a weyr. And doing as the weyr residents do, you would be more into just.. well... being," and her voice lowers, "promiscuous." Her smile is crooked as she continues, "No, I like just having one person, especially you." She seems almost to blush at that admission before grinning once more.

Vasmar grins, a rather sly curl of his lips and leans in to smooch the girl again after her confession, "I admit that I have been rather promiscuous in the past and I'm an awful flirt but I have found that I'd rather spend all my energy on you. Why try for second best?" He winks at her, looking so happy he might bust. "I'm quite pleased with the way you and I get along."

Briny grins wryly at him, licking her lips and then tapping a finger to his nose. "And I can think of plenty of ways to spend all of that energy." A wink and another cookie is popped into her mouth. "Well, if you are so experienced, maybe you can teach me a thing or three...." *wink* And then she echoes, "Very pleased."

Vasmar chuckles and looks thoughtful, "I might be convinced into showing you...." he winks and asks, "care to go for a walk? Maybe even a swim, it should be nice out."

Briny collects her cookies into her hand before smiling softly, "Oh, I think I could go for that, sir. Definitely." And, without further ado, the girl is moving to rise from her seat.

Vasmar gets up from his seat as well, offering out his hand to the cookie-monster. "Did you have to go back to work as soon as we got back? " He takes a first step towards the exit.

Briny smiles as she locks her arm with him, a nibbling away on the cookies, "As soon as we set foot on Monaco soil. 'Briny take this. Briny take that.' I don't mind, I sure missed hearing my voice in the urgent tone."

Vasmar laughs, "I can alawys use that tone with you if you'd like. 'Briny fetch me a meat-pie and a mug of ale!'" He offers a coy smile and quickly draws her out to the bowl in hopes that no one inside will hear her retort to that particular jab.

Vasmar walks off northwards to the broad terrace on the northern face of the weyr hall.

Terrace - Monaco Weyr

Smooth cut and polished stone slabs are fitted into a wide level terrace, extending seaward from the front of the Weyrhall. A stone arch, trellised and covered with creeping vine, frames access to a walkway north to the beach and east to the cluster of cotholds which house the Weyr staff. Stone benches line the perimeter of the terrace, shaded by small fruit trees which have been planted around the outside of the stonework. They allow a comfortable gap between their foliage and the main building.

Briny smirks and playfully bats him on the shoulder. "Its a good thing that I'm so well brought up that I don't relate some of those seacrafter words that I've heard a time or two."

Vasmar continues to chuckle, squeezing Briny's arm in his, "it was worth a try though. You might have submitted yourself to it." He looks around, "how does the waterfall sound?"

Briny nods her head in the affirmative, "Sounds like a nice place for a dip. Of course, we both know that I just want to get you naked and wet." She shoots him a teasing smile, a wink, and then sprints off for the pool.

You amble southwestwards to the waterfall and pool at the base of the cliffs.

Waterfall Pool - Monaco Weyr(#1176RFJa$)

This pool is very deep, and likely could hold a smaller dragon comfortably. From nearly 300 feet above, the Monaco River splits and thunders down into two faultline-weakened channels. The water spills over into a single lower pool and remains fairly deep all the way to the ocean, with high tide waters affecting the flow this far upstream on some occasions. When humans swim here, dolphins will occasionally join them, especially if the high tide has lent some increased salinity to these waters.

Vasmar has arrived.

G'briel watches the scrubbing process with some abstraction as he soaks - after all, he's seen/done it before too. However, Orilee's words bring a chuckle, "Actually, I annoy her on a regular basis, since I can't seem to keep myself to her rules - I enjoy the company of men and women alike, you see. I'm afraid she just has to live with it." He grins "Puts her in a bad mood on a fairly regular basis, actually." Which G'briel seems quite capable of sweet talking her out of.

Briny comes sprinting into the pool area as if a Cat is hot on her heals, or maybe just Vasmar. Bare feet pattering and a giggle on her lips, she shoots across the grass 'til she reaches the pool, waters about to lap at her feet, when she hesitates, breathless, at the sight of people.

Vasmar comes running after Briny, long legs carring him swiftly on her heels, "....show her...." is murmured between breaths. It's obvious he's been on the trail for some distance. When she pulls to a sudden stop he puts on the breaks as well and flashes a smile around, working one of his legs gingerly, "Well, hello!"

People and a dragon, to be more exact. Orilee is scrubbing a green dragon beside her, both out in the deep areas of the water. The greenrider, herself, talks her mouth away toward G'briel, soaking in the water. "Ahh," comes a bit of understanding from Lee's direction, scrubbing having now moved to back portion of body and tail. "Well, that's just-- interesting, it is. Really, the first time I've heard of a dragon feeling so strongly against something that their 'rider has an affinity for. And, greetings!" Orilee spares a bob-of-head to Briny and Vasmar.

"Maybe they do it to annoy each other, in that way that sometimes handfasted couples do?" offers up Tasha, as she helps Orilee in scrubbing the green(Really!). "Hello, Briny, Vasmar!" she calls cheerfully to the other two.

Briny is quick on her feet, otherwise they wouldn't have made her deliver messages. We just won't discuss the fact that half the time it takes half the day to get those messages. She blinks owlishly out to those in the lake, casting them a welcoming wave as she waits to catch her breath. A sound from behind, and the young woman is looking back to spot her peruser, beaming grin offered. "Looks like we weren't the only ones interested in a bit of a dip." Her gaze drops to his knee, frowning slightly. The girl moves back to him, smile returning, and then a glance to those in the water, "Don't mind if we join you all, do you?"

"Just washing my dragon," Orilee states the complete and utter obvious, glancing toward Vasmar with a grin. "Nytasha's helping me-- and we're getting done rather fast, at this rate. Strangely enough," she points out to those new, "there's no firelizards to help. But I'm sure that's just a one-time quirk." G'briel gets a nod, Tasha a chuckle, and both a shrug. "Yes. Yes, I suppose." An idea hard for her to grasp it seems, no matter how many ways its described to her. "And-- I don't mind anyone joining. I did join Nytasha and someone else here, after all. Though, they did leave as soon as me and G'briel arrived."

G'briel smiles at Vasmar, obviously quite happy to watch the other man undress "I'm doing well, for myself" He murmurs from where he lounges at the edge of the pool, soaking in naked splendor. "Glad you two decided to swim - you've picked a good time for it, the water is very pleasant...as is the company." He looks over at Orilee and Nytasha with that selfsame smile.

Briny shoots G'briel a wide grin, her voice teasing, "Now, didn't I tell you that I wouldn't respond to that. I shouldn't even be responding to you now." The girl makes quick work of her clothing, dropping it near to Vasmar's own before she starts across the rocks. No toe-touching the surface to test the temperature before entering, she rock-hops 'til reaching an area of the pool looks deeper. And it is from one of these rocks that she simply dives in. A moment later and she emerges, pulling the hair back from her face, "Well, four hands are always better than two when getting a job done, especially when working on something as large as a dragon."

Nytasha scrubscrubscrubs away at a green dragon hide, eyes scrutinizing it for any sign of cracks or other mars on the hide. "C'har," she says, providing the name of 'the other'. "He had to go and oil his lifemate, elsewise he'd be here with us. So how're you two doing, huh? Up to mischief as usual, Briny?"

"Look out below!" Vasmar offers as he wriggles out of the last bit of clothing and follows Briny's example. He, however, does test the water with a sweep of his foot and instead of diving does a rather splashy plunge right in the deep water there. "WWoooohhooo!!" *sploosh* He comes up quickly, hair sleek against his scalp as he looks around to assess the splash range.

G'briel laughs at Briny's scolding 'You did, actually - but obviously didn't mean it, since you did respond." He points out. "And if you had told me your name -Briny-, I'd not have had to use other means to identify you." He winces a bit as Vasmar splashes him, then grins. "You look just as good wet as dry..." the murmured words are low, but carrying.

Briny stretches out into a smooth line as she strokes over towards where Vasmar made his rather spectacular entrance. "Show off," she admonishes, giving him a generous splash of her own with a well-placed hand to the water. Above the sound of the water, she answers Nytasha, "As always, my favorite starsmith. As always." Yeah, she is splashing Vas again. She smiles back to G'briel, agreeing, "Isn't he though?"

And it seems the dragon does get much more thorough a bath in much quicker a time with Nytasha as well as Orilee scrubbing. Lornath signals the end of the wash, bursting with a slight bugle and moving to amble from the water. "Oh, looks like we're done. And I'm going to have to get back to my cabin, check on a few things, while Lorn dries. Nice meeting you all," Orilee calls as she drags herself from the water and grabs her clothes to dress again. Then the two are off down the path toward the landing field as Lee calls over her shoulder, "See you all again, soon, I hope!"

Orilee has left.

Lornath has left.

Vasmar wasn't expecting the splash and catches a facefull of water with a sputter. "Hey! Watch it you!" A weaker return splash directed at the girl and he holds a hand up to his face to ward off another attack, "Oh, I hope we didn't scare her off." He murmurs in concern, "Ah..." G'briel gets a playful wink, "How are you settling in?"

Nytasha slips beneath the water, then pops up closer to the others, stiffling a yawn. "Mmm... okay, washing dragons really drains your energy. I'm ready to curl up for a nap, now," the girl admits with a soft smile.

G'briel waves to Orilee, chuckling as he watches Briny and Vasmar play. He nods to Briny, smiling lazily "He is - and you both have a lot of energy...." He points out. "More than Nytasha has now, it seems." Poor little starcrafter. "I'm also settling in very well, Vasmar - thank you for asking. Your little tour this morning helped quite a bit in showing me about the place."

Briny glances after Orilee and Lornath, casting the pair a droplet-splattering wave in farewell. She chuckles as she is splashed in return, ducking her head and them coming around Vasmar, not to splash him back once more, but instead to draw an arm about him. She glances after Nytasha, smiling softly, "Well, whatever you do, don't fall asleep in the water. And that is what all those late nights get you as well, /star/crafter." *wink* "Energy? Absolutely." And she will inflict every bit of it on poor Vasmar later. "That was awfully nice of him to show you around. It is rather easy to get lost around here." Yes, this coming from the messenger.

Vasmar smiles back to Nytasha and inclines his head, "how long have you been out here dragon washing anyway?" He floats a bit as he returns Briny's one-armed floaty hug, though he's keeping a close eye on her, in case she tries to pull a fast one on him. "I'm glad it helped G'briel. It's more fun to start off in a new place if you know where you're going, and you get to know the locals."

G'briel smiles at Vasmar and Briny "Indeed it does...and I do appreciate it. I'll have to make it up to him at another time." He murmurs.

Briny returns Vasmar's side-long looks with her level-best endearing smiles, complete with doe-eyes. Well, maybe not, maybe something more along the line of a wolfish grin and eyes the twinkle with something that has absolutely nothing to do with the available light. Her toes bounce her up now and again as they push off the mushy floor of the pool, apparently unable to stay still for very long. She shoots G'briel a wide smile, chuckling softly, "Yes, but you'll have to show him later, rider... because right now I have other plans for our fearless Vasmar here." The girl leans over to murmur something in his ear before trying to tug him back towards the beach. Pure devilry in her gaze.

Nytasha blinks a few times, her attention having drifted to the sky. "Mm? You two leaving already? Err... have fun?" she grins faintly. "See you tomorrow, I'd guess then, if I'm awake."

"Lucky Vasmar.." Gabe murmurs, eyes flicking from first one to the other of them before he waves "Enjoy yourselves.." He adds, before looking over at Nytasha "Looks like it's just you and me now...and the fish." He peers into the water "Are there fish in here?"

Vasmar smiles warmly back at G'briel, "repayments? I do like the sound of that." Briny is rewarded for her devilry with an arched eyebrow and a wary squint. However, as her words reach his ears his eyes widen and then a rather cunning smile of his own overcomes his features, "I think I'll take that bet and raise you...." he murmurs something back to her while gliding towards the beach. "I'm sorry but....it looks like our swim is over.” He's lead by Briny with an 'almost' innocent expression on his face. Goodness what the old aunties they pass by might say!

"Fish? I think so. Unless they've been eaten by all the dragons," Tasha answers with a small smile, her fingers trailing circles in the surface of the water. She smiles and waves after Vasmar and Briny, then looks to G'briel. "What'd she mean by 'Not til late'?"
