Logfile from Chase.

Mandarin Plaza - 1502

It looks like an average two bedroom apartment. The furniture is second-hand, and the overall impression is somewhat shabby, with the exception of the shotgun/rifle collection hanging up on the far wall.  Pretty boring place, really, but there's a TV and some game consoles, at least

Lexie is here.

Obvious exits:

Exit

Clothes all over the place, along with Lexie's sanity!  Yep, it's late in the evening now, and she took the chance to catch a small catnap and, uh, think about the crazy thing she just did.  At some point they ended up in the bedroom.. Her sanctuary!  Of course, she's now awake, still nuzzled up against him, just quiety running over the utter disasters that will result from this in her mind.  "...Hey, Chase, are you awake?" She asks, softly, brushing her cheek against his shoulder.

The bed is good. And the couch and.... Well, at least they are on the bed now. But Chase is awake, yes, and smiling faintly. The kind of smile that comes from being quite content. "Yeah, I'm awake," he responds softly, turning slightly to draw a hand over to bring fingers through her hair.

Lexie grins over at him, although the smile is undeniably sad.  "...I don't think we should've done that. Among other things, you could get me arrested for statutory." She murmurs, kissing his ear.  "I uh, had a no sleeping with seishi rule that I just broke in a big way. Gods, as if the Genbu didn't already hate me enough.."  She closes her eyes for a moment, not bothering to hide the greif at the trouble this whole thing will cause.  "...But I want you to know it was wonderful. And I don't regret it. You're a sweet guy, Chase.  I just regret that you fell in with someone like me."

Chase seems to sigh at her sad smile. His own tightens for a moment before reaching over once more to brush some her her hair away from her face. "Look, don't worry about it. You worry way, way too much. And don't start thinking about the trouble this could cause or whatever. It'll just eat you up, and that's just pointless." He reaches for her cheek, "Come on. Open your eyes. And stop saying things like that. If there is trouble, well... then bring it on."

Lexie looks up at him-- And for a moment, all her bravado and courage just utterly fails her.  She reaches up to push his hair back from his forehead, eyes slightly glassy.  "Chase, I really am your enemy. " She breathes, unhappily.  "And do I worry so much?  I mean, I know you're your own person, and can take care of yourself.. But what happens when you finally get that fight with an oni you've been dreaming of? What if you get torn apart, or if they do?  What'm I supposed to feel about it?  I'm not supposed to be this.. Weak.  I try not to be.  But it seems like the harder I try, the more I just wreck everything I get my hands on.  I don't want it to be you.  Kai had the right idea. He knows he can't assosciate with me and he knows where his place is.. With the Seiryuu.  I haven't ever done.. This with him. And I was okay with that.  I think he's been picked up and tormented by more oni than any other seishi, and I just have this awful feeling it's all because of me.  I don't want you to suffer for daring to touch me."  Gosh, is the Yin miko supposed to look ready to break into tears?  "I believe in my cause. I really do!  ...But my feelings keep betraying the Yin, and my oni.. And even myself."

Chase is now frowning as he looks to her, listening quietly as she speaks. Confusion is first, and then comes concern. "Look, Lexie? I'm not your Kai. I don't know all of the history in that, but it is pretty clear you and him have some kind of pretty strong past. That's not me... And..." He sighs once again, flopping back against the mattress and pillow. "I like you, Lexie, and believe me, I know all about the way of things, the order of the stars, fate, and all of that stuff. I know it damn well." He rolls to the side to watch her once more, his smile faint, "If anything comes my way, I'll deal with it. Its nothing. They know where my loyalties lie. If I didn't prove it enough last time, then they aren't the people that I know and love. I won't suffer, and I don't plan on it." Another moment of looking a little uncomfortable before a soft smile, "Lexie? Hey, it'll be fine. As for your feelings..." He simply trails off, gaze intent upon her.

Lexie grins wryly. "He isn't my Kai." She corrects, softly.  "A fact I'm more aware of every day.  Don't worry about it. It's just me being dumb and emotional. Women do that, I guess."  She nuzzles back into his embrace to hide her expression.  "It's up to you if you say anything.  I'm not planning on mentioning this to anyone.  I have enough problems getting respect from the oni as it is, and the seishi would think I took advantage of you. Maybe I did. Maybe it's nice to have someone look at me like you have.  Maybe it's nice to have someone for a change instead of longing over something I can't have at all.  ...Thank you, Chase.  For being here anyways."  She wraps her arms around him, blinking away the threataning tears.   Crying just isn't her bag, that's for damn sure, so she's not gonna do it!  "...I don't have feelings, remember? I'm a Yin.  But I like you anyways.  I wouldn't mind if you'd come around more often."

Chase is frowning at her, and even more so as she hides her face against him. Any tenseness leaves his body as instead he curls an arm about Lexie, slowly drawing his fingers up and down her back. "If they ask, and I can't avoid it, I'll tell them, Lexie. I refuse to keep secrets from my family. I might omit things from time to time, but I will never lie to them." He drops his head to brush his lips against the crown of her head, "I'm not so sure about the feelings part, but I won't try to convince you otherwise. I've noticed that you seem to be rather stubborn and set in your ways. And as for coming around more often... you're fun, and until you show me the curb, I suppose I can darken your door now and again."

Lexie chuckles softly.  "Okay, that's your business.  I won't ask you to lie to them.  Never been a great liar myself.  Though I doubt anyone'll ask me. Nobody'd guess.  I'm just the plain psychotic miko. "  She chuckles slightly, warming to his embrace.  "Well, and stubborn.  I'll admit it. It's one of my few good points.  But you're always welcome here. Well, Rathan lives here, technically, but he of all people will understand. If you come by on a rare instance where he's around and I'm not, just tell him I said it was okay and he'll let you in.  You know, like, if you ever need a place to go.  Although I'm sure you've got a safe place already. "  She looks up, planting kisses along his jawline.  "I guess all your girls will be jealous that I've taken up your time, huh?" She teases, wryly.

Chase is wincing abruptly at mentioning Rathan, and from there recalling a certain conversation with a certain Byakko not so long ago. Yeah, pot calling the kettle black syndrome yet again. Damn. His wince eases though, more with resignation than anything. "I'll keep that in mind, sure. But I've got plenty of places to stay, so you don't need to worry about me taking up room too much. Well, that is unless I get attached to some of those cracky console games you've got, or distracted otherwise." With that last, he briefly tightens his hold around her. "Oh, I wouldn't worry about the girls, they all think I'm a... youngling." *snerk*

Lexie stifles a giggle, good humor returning. "But you are!" She teases, then tries to roll away to escape his retribution.  "I guess I'll have to go buy some you'd like, then. I have a bad tendancy to piss off company and scare 'em off."  Yeah, she won't comment on the wince.  Well, okay, maybe she will.  "He's not much of an oni. The others keep getting mad at him."

Chase is just going to roll with her then, eyes sparking in amusement. "Am not. Don't make me prove you wrong... again." He ducks his head to bestow a smooch to the base of her neck before simply flopping atop her. Yeah, retribution for her flopping on him earlier. "Well, if you'd stop shooting at them the moment they come in the door..." Okay, so maybe it didn't play out exactly like that. "Never met Rathan. I was thinking about Mina. She's something of a friend of mine."

Lexie mmphs, making a face.  "Hey, hey, I give. Uncle!  Oh, I know.. I've met her too. She's a nice girl. She's good for him in a big way.  Which is why I don't ask any questions when he never comes home, and don't tell any tales."  She grins up at him, smacking him in the head with a pillow.  "Goof.  I believe you, but I won't complain."

Chase falls back over with the pillow, bouncing on his side with something of a dramatic flourish. "Yeah, she's nice. And I have a sneaky suspicion that aniki was going to try to hook me up with her once upon a time. That look he gave me just gave it all away, the ass." But his grin is returning, almost smug. He reaches over to take up that pillow she foofed him with and smacks her with it right on back. "Behave."

Lexie bursts into laughter. "Hey, you better be nice or I'll tickle you again!  Anyways, I never behave. It's best to get used to it." She reaches for him again, leaning in to brush a kiss across his lips.  "You know, they're probably going to miss you soon.  It's good you have people who care like that."

Chase is cringing away at the idea of being tickled. He gets in one more fluff with the pillow afterwards and is immediately rolling off the bed and to his feet. He waggles his own finger at her, "Yeah... but I can still tell you to now and again to keep up appearances." Now comes the search for clothing, which really shouldn't be that hard considering she already stole some of his stuff so there has to be something around here. "Probably... but hopefully I've got them trained enough to realize I don't often come home every single night. The pains of actually having to live with someone else." *sigh*

Lexie slips out of the bed, hunting around for some clothing of her own.  "Well, okay. From you, I'll accept it. You're my reason, remember?"  She pauses to put on the necklace by the bedstand, and fishes around for undergarments.  "Well, I guess this means you're going to head out, huh?" She asks, with a sheepish grin. "I'll be bored, you know. But I'll see you again sometime soon, when you feel like it."

Chase tugs on pants and such, and then turns around to look back at her. He is snickering once more at the reason comment. "A sad example of reason, but I'll try." Padding back over to Lexie, his smile is present once more, "I'll probably have to lay low again for the next couple of days though. But I can call you? You've got mine, right?"

Lexie takes the excuse to slip her arms around his waist, grinning at him. "Sure. I'll write it down before you go.  And I don't think I have your number yet. Did we ever find your cel?  Call anytime."

"Uhm... I think I saw it under your sofa, actually." Of course, we really don't even need to get into how Chase saw it under there, do we? Nope. He rattles off some number or another before leaning in to give her a warm kiss. "I'll have to come by again to pick up that stereo, right? Maybe I'll bring some pizza and a couple of movies when I do that."

Lexie grins, managing to program the number into herphone.. Well, after the kiss, that is. Kisses take priority.  "Sounds good to me. I even promise not to shoot at you this time." She teases, reciting her own.

Chase moves his head to give her a nip at her ear before pushing away and locating a shirt. Could possibly be the one he wore before, or another, doesn't really matter. Ball cap is forgotten and left behind though. "Remind me to take you deer hunting some time. Then you can shoot all you want -namely not at me." He is ducking into the living room area to rummage for that phone.

Lexie grins, leaning against the doorframe of the bedroom, just watching him with an affectionate, quiet smile. "Allright, sounds good to me.  You'll have to teach me a bit, though.  My hunting around my old neighborhood was more along the lines of bullyboys who were trying to break into the garage.  Take care, Chase."

"Oh, that sounds fun too. It's been a good week or so since the last time I dumped a couple of hoods from the local Chinese grocery. It was great." He straightens, tucks the phone in a pocket and then moves to the door. Opening it, he starts out only to turn and give her a wink, "You too. Call you later." And off he darts.
