Logfile from Chase.

                              Royal Elizabeth

------------------------------===============------------------------------

                         Lobby

This attractive Georgian-style apartment building features a brightly lit lobby where there is always a doorman in attendance.  The redbrick seven-story building was erected the early 1930's and though it was converted into condos only a decade ago, it still sports the classic decor that justifies the cost of living here. Marble floors are kept brightly waxed and cleaned, the walls painted with soft cream that matches the carved fixtures along the ceiling.

The door to the management and rental office is at the side between some tall potted trees, along with some worn but expensive looking couches in the alcove by the main doors. An old fashioned looking elevator takes up the back wall of the lobby with a swing dial floor indicator over it.

Lexie(#249) and Kai(#238) are here.

Exits: Exit     (to Elizabeth Street)

       Elevator (to Elevator)

Lexie is skulking around the lobby, pacing back and forth as she tries to make up her mind-- On one hand, she wants to give Johnston the message.. On the other, the sword-toting singer might be there. What to do, what to do. (repose for Chase)

Ding! The elevator opens and Kai comes storming out into the lobby with a large duffle bag in hand and oddly enough, clutching a wooden flute along with a rather pissed expression. Okay, it's half pissed and half scared to death. He barely registers who's out there before nearly knocking someone over.

It's a hit and run!  Well, almost-- The ticked flautist does indeed bump into someone.  It's pretty hard to miss her, too, as the petite Italian mechanic nearly goes flying and has to grab at the assailant to keep her balance. "H-Hey! Watch where you're going!"

Chase pulls open the door from the street, a cool breeze of air sneaking past him from the wintery weather without. Door is quickly shut behind, lest he get some foul glances his way. Or not. Two steps in and he frowns, glancing down at a slip of paper in his hand. "Is this the right place..." But, naturally, there is some bumping going on further within, causing him to blink after.

Kai squawks for a moment, panicking for a moment before freezing in place and taking stock of the situation. "Lexie? Oh thank goodness." Boy, that is so damn ironic if you think about it. The luggage is dropped but he keeps a rather careful hold of his flute. The wooden one. "Sorry 'bout that. Thought you might have been *shudder* Dylan. He found me again last night." Heck, Amiboshi goes pale just at the thought. "Seems that he moved in next door to me."

Lexie manages to release Kai and starts trying to help him pick up his bag, looking overly-flustered.  The breeze catches her as she manages to get the bag, and she glances up with a wild, paranoid expression.   "Izzat blondie's name? Nobody was willing to tell me." Of course, she /did/ walk in and shoot the man, so who can blame them?  Still, the information processes, and she stiffens. "Did he hurt you? I think you should move in with your brother."

Chase blinks at the pair, and then goes back to pursuing his paper. A few footsteps forward, and then he is peering at the rack of mail boxes. Maybe, the name is listed on there. A finger draws along the names, but then he is left to blink and shoot a glance over at the pair, perking at a pair of names being mentioned. Oh?

Kai nods rather shortly. "He hurt me enough last time. My brother drove him off this time with just a few minor injuries. He surprised us in the hallway when I was coming home. Shit, I don't know where to go. Matt's neighborhood isn't that much better." The dangers there are just more dispersed. "Can't you do something about...that sadist?" Kai does sound a little unhinged there. As the breeze blows in, he looks past Lexie just a little wild-eyed but calms as he spies Chase and registers him as someone not threatening. Or at least not Dylan the water freak.

Lexie isn't so sure that he's not a threat; She sure knows he's not one of hers, but damn if he didn't just look over this way.  Unthinkingly, she blurts, "I already shot the man in the knee and left him to fend for himself. I can't kill one of my own; It's just bloody well against the rules.  Now if you guys teach him a lesson en masse, I doubt any of us would bother to help him."  She hands over the bag, looking edgy. "Where're you going, anyways? Am I holding you up? Matt doesn't like me talking to you, Kai."

Chase has heard quite a few names bandied about in the past week or so, some more than others, and most just sort of fly right on past him to go thru one ear and right out the other. But, you know, when names like Matt, Kai, Lexie, Dylan, and sadist are tossed together that tends to spark something. Eyes abruptly narrow and that scrap of paper is being shoved deep into a pocket. Ball-cap is adjusted and then he, plain as day, makes his way right on over to the pair. "Interesting conversation you all are having. Down right enlightening. Now... this Dylan, you mention. He could very well be the exact same person I've been looking for. In face, I'm almost positive it is." Beat. "Where does he live?"

Kai looks rather startled for a mere moment, then somewhat disappointed. "I didn't think you could do that. I sorta wished you had more of a reign over them." But then it would have been too easy. Besides, he's not one to be saying anything given his rather interesting concerns over Lexie. "I guess we'll have to try that. I don't know where the hell Matt went. He told me to stay put but you know there's only one wall between the two of us and I couldn't stand it anymore. I was going to find a room in a hotel or something." He ignores the whole bit about Matt not wanting him to talk to her, didn't stop him much last time. Chase coming up does raise some hackles on the overwrought seishi though, Kai instinctively trying to shove Lexie behind him. Boy is that just wrong. "Who're you?" he says rather bluntly, but quietly enough not to be too obnoxious about it. "And just what do you want with the stand in for the Marquis de Sade?"

Lexie tosses up her hands. "I didn't even know his name till you told me. He said he was answering to a 'higher call'.  He just seems to /like/ pissing me off, and there's nothing much I can do." She defends, growing more and more upset with the whole deal. "Sweet moses on a pogostick.."  She exhales, rubbing at her forehead. "Who're you, and what'd he do now? Listen, Kai.. If Mat'll go for it, come to my place. He tries something there on my land, I'm /within/ legal rights to kill him and no oniseishi'll say otherwise if they know what's good for them--Aack."  SHe gets shoved.. Behind a Seiryuu seishi? This is surreal.  Peeking around Kai, the little Yin miko peers at the newcomer.   She shouldn't be in back.. She's the one with the guns! It's just not fair.

Chase blinks at Kai for a moment, but is already looking over him and on to the woman. "You're Lexie? You're that Yin woman?" As if the rest of the conversation he overhears isn't enough to confirm it. Wow. Imagine the luck? Such a small city. He is still trying to peer over Kai at her, "Now, see... you don't have to worry about that. Just show me where this Dylan-sob is and I'll be happy to take care of him. In fact, I know quite a few people who would love to catch him in a dry room. Oh, but the hell with that... I'll take him any way I can catch him." He flashes a look at Kai though, finally, "Genbu." That might explain things.

Kai nods back at Lexie. "I guess your place is as likely as anywhere else." He hadn't any problems with the other yin folk, just the one psychonut. He looks back at Chase and relaxes somewhat. "Seiryuu." is said somewhat defensively given that they don't exactly have the best reputations. "I'm Amiboshi." Pointing up he sighs. "Did Dylan try to mess someone else up too? I barely got away at all. It was one of the Byakko that helped put me back on my feet. The guy lives up in uh, 203 I believe. Second floor. Look out for the water on the floor, he hit one of the sprinklers last night." Another reason to get the heck away from his apartment.

Lexie places a hand to her forehead.  "Is there anyone in this town who doesn't know me?" She asks, looking less than relaxed.  "Well, I guess Matt'd never go for it. But I know someone else we could ask.  Johnston might take you guys in, and Matt might take more to that if he can stand the high life."  She rubs at her ponytail, sighing.  "Oh. Subaru. Yes, she mentioned it."

Chase is left to simply blink at Kai yet again. Wow, isn't that like the third of fourth time now? But he is doing it again. Getting the address is that easy. A finger points down at the floor, "As in this very building?" And so, his gaze drifts up, one rather nasty smile curling along his lips. "He tried something with one of my companions. A /twelve/ year old girl. She called me /screaming/." He shoots another dark glare at Lexie, before looking back to Kai, "Oh, you're that one. Nice to finally meet you." But his voice gains that hard edge once more, looking at Lexie, "If you see your watery friend, I really don't care if you warn him about me. I play real well with water, my brother and I."

Kai nods at Chase. "Yes, this building. Try to leave the building intact at least? I'm tired of loosing my things." He's got the important stuff with him anyway. "Who's Johnston?" he asks Lexie after a moment, rather confused still. Matt's been keeping him sort of protectively isolated and frankly he's a little tired of it. Then he grows angry, temper rising easily after the week he's had. "He went after a little girl?!"

Lexie looks horrified. "He messed with /Anana/?  Oh, yeah, Dylan sure has to stop going after people she likes. Another beat, then in a more horrified voice, "Anana's a seishi?!"  Nobody tells her anything!  At least she's used to getting glared at by now.  "Johnston. He's one of the Suzaku. Strength in numbers and all."  She's trying not to look murderous, and failing. "Anything you do to him, he more than deserves."  But not if she gets to him first. Shooting a knee off was too gentle.

Chase frowns after Lexie for a long moment, a very long moment. The poor boy almost looks confused. "Oh... well..." He blinks, clears his throat, and then takes a step back. "If you see him..." He'll just leave that to trail off, like the rest. He nods his head in farewell to Kai, gives Lexie something of a perplexed smirk, and off he goes.

Kai waves to Chase. "Well...good to see someone else interested in giving the bastard what he deserves." HOnestly, Amiboshi is normally alot calmer and nicer, but he's got reason to be a bit out of sorts. It's either angry or curl up in a ball and cry. You pick. "One of the Suzaku, Lexie? I guess that has possibilities." he confesses. "It's worth a try?"
