Logfile from Kibai.

Weyrling Barracks

The large entryway opens into two immense U-shaped caverns stretching deep into the cliff side. Glow baskets lining the cavern walls cast a soft light, dispelling the shadows and illuminating the home of all High Reaches weyrlings. Stone couches of various sizes line the many walkways of well-packed dirt and stone.

Along the walls nearest the entrance, shelves and pegs hold the leathers, books and tools needed when teaching and practicing, and towards the back, a large pool for the dragonets and weyrlings and several large containers kept full of fresh meat serve as conveniences for the busy residents of these barracks.

Snuggled in with the leather supplies and tools are fifteen firelizards.

Green Hiakith, brown Seishuth, green Chrideth, green Ainth, blue Morvorth, green Zuleikath, and bronze Minoyath are here.

You see Dragon Wing, Weyrling Progress Record, and Star Studded Sky here.

Lauria, Lexi, and M'nty are here.

Obvious exits:

Training Grounds     Couches

K'bai slides out of his couch, but only after Seishuth has scampered out of it as well. Said brown lifts his muzzle, drawing in a deep breath as he searches for that tell-tale scent of blood, rent flesh, food. Yumm. K'bai, meanwhile, is still hazily dragging fingers through his hair to try to put it to rights, playing tag along to the brown.

M'nty stretches after swinging his legs over the edge of his and Minoyath's couch. He's got a crick in his neck again, mostly because the flamboyant bronze decided that he'd much rather curl up *around* M'nty, than next to him. But now the fool dragon is awake and hungry, slithering off the couch after unwrapping himself from his lifemate and beelining straight for the munchies. "Bah, Mino!" M'nty grumbled, rubbing his neck.

Ainth is sleeping, still, which is a miracle-- because her 'rider just woke up with a start. "Meh..." is what she first utters, before turning towards her sleeping counterpart. "Stop pretending," she urges, "your stomach is going to eat -me-, if you don't get up and eat something." With an apologetic burble, Ainth pulls herself up, waiting for Laur to drag herself out of bed. "C'mon, let's go," Laur mutters, not only dragging herself out of bed but dragging herself towards the food.

Seishuth continues along his way, tail lifted just a tad so that it doesn't slither along the floor. Actually rather speedy, the brown gets to the scraps bin in no time at all, falls back onto his haunches, and then pops up to drape his forelegs upon the lip of the barrel *teeter* K'bai is a bit slower, still fussing with the belt around his tunic. "Just wait up there, Sei."

Minoyath is definately already at the munchies and he's circling them slowly like a vulture. Feed me, feed me... His whole demeanor chants those words at M'nty, who's frowning and shaking his head. So most likely the little draggie is chanting that vocally also. "I'm comin' I'm comin'!" M'nty muttered, holding his neck, Geeze, I'll feed you, you won't starve in the three breaths it takes me to get to you. He finished his comment as he stepped up to his dragon and wrapped his arms around the creatures neck. Gotcha... now, tell me what you want and I'll get it. He then realized that others were awake. K'bai, Laur. Morn' How're you, and Seishuth and Ainth. He cast a eye over the apparently also-hungry weyrlings

Lauria glances back towards a trailing Ainth, smiling at her as they reach the meat. "Look, Ainth, you're drooling. You should've woken me -up-. It's okay! I don't mind being waken up, especially if it's for you. No, you can't think that I don't like it, even if I don't seem to, I have to feed you-- you know that..." She glances over towards Seishuth, chuckling, before she responds towards M'nty. "Hungry. As usual. And still trying to get Ainth to wake me up."

Seishuth remains as is, the majority of his weight braced up against that barrel. << Hungry. Anyone else? >> And that is about the only warning he is going to give before tipping that precarious balance forward. You know, against that barrel. That barrel doesn't have a chance as it topples forward with a hollow *thunk* spilling hunks of meat out onto the floor, along with a good amount of 'juices'. K'bai just stands there in some sort of stunned stupor at what Sei just did. "Ohh, you didn't." Sure he did.

M'nty blinked and jumped up and down, trying to avoid the foul nastiness oozing across the floor. "Shards! Well, Kibs, I suppose that's what we get..." He trailed off as Minoyath gave a thrilled squeal and flicked his tail with a thump against the already-spilt barrel, shaking loose a couple more pieces. He pounced on one of the delievered delicasies and began to rip right into it. "Oh noooo..." groaned M'nty. Well, all he could do was hope the floor was clean enought to eat off of. He sighed and glanced at Lauria. "Yea? I just figured out yesterday that Mino's become an expert at pretending to be asleep. He won't wake me even for his stomach." M'nty glared at the creature munching contentedly on spilled meat, soaking in the 'juicies'.

Lexi has disconnected.

El'wyn escapes Zuleikath's domain near the back of the barracks, finally unfettered from those binding chains.

Lauria laughs, lightly. "Then she learned that from Mino--" Wait, there's a big mess on the ground. Ainth has a determinedly scolding look fixed on her face, eyes narrowed. << Seishuth! You weren't supposed to do that, you know that. You just need to be patient. Now we need to clean it all up... >> She trots over towards the juices, promptly licking at them as she would lick at water. "Ainth!" Laur is just as surprised to see Ainth refuse the spilled meat as she is to hear the green is actually cleaning up. "Why don't you just -eat the meat-, we'll mop up the mess later..."

Seishuth croons a note of encouragement to Minoyath, before pouncing forward to claim a haunch that slides across the bloody mess on the floor. << We shall clean by eating it all up, of course >> K'bai draws back a few paces before climbing up onto someone else's couch to keep out of the spreading mess. "Uh... sorry," he manages, flickering a glance to the other weyrlings, looking a little apologetic, but mostly amused.

Zuleikath slinks. Stalks. /Pounces/. All awkward grace, still she manages to attach herself to a rather large hunk, and begins chewing enthusiastically. El'wyn eyerolls, stretches,a nd says sarcastically, "A little hungry, isn't she?" He asks no one in particular. "I suppose this is one way to feed 'em."

Minoyath crunches into the bone of the small piece he'd chosen, slurping marrow before discarding the shards. Moving onto another piece he gives Ainth an innocent look. << Sorry Sorry, dinna mean anything. 'Sides, It's easier to eat it, than clean it. >> M'nty frowned at his lifemate. He *taught* Ainth that little trick. You rascal! He stepped through the mess to scratch his lifemate's eyeridge. "You better clean all this up." He gives the dragon a mock-serious glare. Then he grins over at El'wyn. Seems like it. But hey, at least it saves us the trouble of digging for what they want, right? No no, Mine, I want *that* piece. That one at the *bottom*. I can see it, why can't you reach it!" M'nty mimicked his dragon and shuddered.

<< Yes, well, we can't possibly clean this all up, and now ours are going to have to, if anyone finds out. I don't like making Lauria do more than she has to, especially because of someone who can't be patient. >> That's a big thought for Ainth, but she burbles thankfully at Lauria's offer to clean it up, finally taking to the meat. Laur sighs, waving towards El'wyn with a half-resigned look on her face. Between munches, Ainth can be heard speaking to Minoyath, << It isn't your fault Minoyath. You were patient. How was your night? >>

Zuleikath is almost purring her content, her tail lashing back and forth as she pounces on another piece to rend, destroy, and eat. El'wyn, beig a sardonic sort, says in a casual aside, "Now why does this not bode well for my future?" His brows twitch amusedly, and he crosses his arms. "Least I don't have to be bothered with touching it this time." It's always gross to do the butchering.

Seishuth rends into the meat, gulping it down. Watch as the lump slides down his throat to drop into his tummy. That was great. Again. He gives a tentative bump to another hunk of 'beast, and it skitters some, he gives it a harder push, and when the meat ricochets off of another weyrling dragon's leg, the chase is on. *pounce* He looks over to El'wyn with a grin. "Ah yes. Point there."

Minoyath blinked as the hunk of meat shot off in another direction from his leg. He peered down at the offending spot, then licked at it. MmmMm, yum. He then slowly turned his little wedge of a head towards Ainth << Good Good, I'd hoped it wouldn't. Sleep went well, and it was warm. >> M'nty grimaced at the same instant, rubbing his neck in testament to exactly what Minoyath curled around to keep himself warm, the little bugger. He chuckled at El'wyn though. Yup, that scares me right there. He shrugged, But touchin' it's not bad... but.... He gave his fingers a delicate shake, They seem to be having much more fun playing with it themselves. Perhaps we should do this every morning.

Ainth is chewing her meat happily, though glances up towards Seishuth with slight disdain. It's dissolving though, as the meat in her stomach starts to give her energy and put her into a better mood. << Warm? >> She inquires again, wanting to hear more. << I'm really glad it was warm, though, Minoyath. Always makes me feel good when dragons sleep well. >> Lauria nods slightly, laughing. "Yea, it is a bit disgusting, time-consuming, takes forever. Easier to just let them gnaw. And Ainth loves to gnaw."

"Leika's favorite game." Said green is pouncing every bit of meat she gets, and her belly begins to distend. "Shards. Wonder if she'll eat herself sick." El'wyn grins wickeldy. "Can't imagine the weyrlingmasters'd be too pleased for us to let 'em eat like this. Good practice for hunting, though."

K'bai remains perched upon someone's couch, one arm curling around a drawn up leg. "Well, I am sure that a few more of the dragons will be up soon as well, and will appreciate the little buffet line sprawled all over the floor." He shoots a glance askance to Llew. "Probably not." Notice as he doesn't move to attempt at any cleaning quite yet. Seishuth gobbles down this last bit, and then lopes his way closer to the others. << Warm? You a cuddler, Minoyath? Show me? >>

M'nty shrugged at El'wyn. "We can always stop them if they look like they're getting too full." He grinned. Minoyath was carefully munching on another pieces, slowly and steadily. The bronze looked up once at Ainth before turning back to his food. << Warm. Am... cuddlier than a fuzzy feline. But M'nty is warm, so I just *had* to curl up around him. He used me as a pellow. I don't think he's too happy about that though. But yes... I'm warm. >> He answered Seishuth in the same comment. He shifted his small body from foot to foot as he searched for another munchie to attack. M'nty sighed, "Seems like they're almost done..."

Ainth has turned from gulping meat to licking up the floor again, her muzzle red with blood and bits of meat. "Ah, shaffit, you're a mess..." Laur mutters towards her dragon, massaging her temples. "Into the pool, into the pool, need to get you cleaned up..." << Show me too? >> Ainth attempts, though the blood dripping off her muzzle isn't particularly sanitary. << I don't mind cuddling and listening. Did you have any dreams last night? >> She takes a deep breath as Minoyath totters off, turning towards the pool. "In, in, in..."

Zuleikath looks up from the idle batting of one last, huge chunk of meat. <<This...cuddling.>> She considers carefully, in buzzing, paper-rustling tones. << How is it done?>>

Seishuth would have actually preferred to see a demonstration of this cuddle, but he supposes an explanation is just as good, especially considering Minoyath and his lifemate aren't around anymore. << Cuddling? It involves warmth and closeness... >> Ever so slowly, the brown turns his head to peer at K'bai, head cocking to the side in consideration. But his rider isn't paying a bit of attention. Instead, the brown looks over to Ainth and then Zuleikath << Want to try it? >>

"Tell your dragon that I have to get her cleaned up first," Ainth's rider turns towards K'bai, though if K'bai has any idea what Laur means, it'll be a miracle. "Dip your head into the pool..." Lauria walks to kneel by the side of the cleaning pool and wash off a bloody muzzle. "Ah, there you go, there you go..." Ainth comes up spluttering. << I would like to try it, although I already know what it is. It is enjoyable. I cuddle with Lauria, though not while she's asleep. It would wake her up. I don't want to wake her up. >>

El'wyn turns a gimlet stare on his dragon. "Pool. Now. And either eat that or leave it be." Zuleikath warbles in protest, attempting to stand on her hind legs and look tough. She fails, and is firmly escorted into the pool to remove all the blood from paws and muzzle.

Seishuth, the instigator of this entire mess, goes back to munching on another bit of meat, 'cause his tummy isn't quite full yet. A few licks are given to the floor as well, just to try it out. << We should try it some time. All of us. We would be very warm then. >> K'bai shoots an apologetic look towards Lauria, along with a smile. "Go on. I'll tidy this up."
