Logfile from Kibai.

 Quiet Corners

Thick woolen tapestries dull the noise from the rest of the caverns, turning this well-lit little room into a welcome escape.  The stairs up place it against the bowl wall somewhere above the living caverns, carpeted against the winters chill or left as cool stone floor in summer. Some high and narrow windows can be opened to the world outside, or secured with their heavy metal-sided shutters and blue-threaded curtains.

Glowlight gleams, brightening the well-cushioned stone couches and lighting the weyr residents half-finished projects: knitting undone, sewing only started, leathers being worked soft, and even a hide of sketches or half-finished Thread-chart spread out across one of the... [look closer]

Kaesa is here.

Obvious exits:

Inner Stairs

Curled up in one of the plush chairs of the room is Kibai. The teenager sits back, both legs drawn up with him upon the seat, one arm curled around his legs and the other reaches over to a plate of sliced fruit upon an endtable nearby. A slice of greenfruit is taken, rind ignored as he consumes the citrus pulp instead. Mmmmmmm. Silence. Blessed silence.

"Kibi!" There goes the silence.. and here comes the terror herself.  Tromping heavily and loudly up the stairs, her hands working at pulling that hat off her head and tossing it into an empty seat, "I hope I heard things," Kaesa's gaze trains in on her brother and turns quite narrow; her tone verging on amused, though for the sake of the act there is a tinge of mock seriousness in it, "..really /strange/ things at that, brother dearest.  And while I'm on my way back from delivering a message, no less."  One chair is sought out, plopped down onto and legs tossed up over the arm rests of said chair.

Kibai startles as his little quiet moment is crashed. He doesn't quite drop the rind though, but it is a close thing and requiring him shoot Kaesa a wide-eyed glances. "Kaesa... I wasn't expecting you..." His gaze trails over towards where the hat now sits, and then back to her. "Strange things? Been listening at doors again, dear?"

"Strange things," Kaesa repeats, her head canting slightly to the side as her gaze stays fixed on her brothers, "Imagine my surprise when someone comes up to me.  All smiles.  Says that she is a friend of a friend who's cousins with the friend of a friend who saw *you*," This punctuated with a gesture in his direction, "Climb aboard a blue dragon at the lake.  What was it.. three days ago?"  The time is purposefully skewed, though the following fact of, "..and with the dragons lifemate, no less.  Right up to her weyr."  And now that grin can come.  Full out and completely devious.  "Now, I don't quite know what I should believe.  Care to set me straight, brother dearest?"

Kibai blinks back across to her, blinks a little more, and then actually chuckles rather darkly. "What do you think happened, sister-dear? I slept with her. Well, there was some sleeping involved, later." No, he doesn't exactly look all that repentant, or even that it is a huge deal or anything. "And do you get special... tips after you deliver a message too?"

If Kaesa is suppose to look abashed at her brothers response, she doesn't.  But she does laugh.  "Ooh.. now Kibi.."  Her head drops down into a small bob as she touches one finger to her lips in thought.  Her gaze reading the amusement felt at the situation.  Even if it were rather juvenile, "Mother and father would be so /ashamed/ and disappointed to hear of your.. trist with the people here," And as delicately as that is placed, the next isn't.  Kibi's words earning a slight squeak as the intake of air proves too fast and too much.  Her gaze widens for the slightest moment until composure comes, "..I, dear brother, get the usual tip for delivering a message." Yes.  And she has to accentuate that fact with the arching of one brow.

Kibai peers owlishly at her, reaching for another sliver of fruit to pop into his mouth. "You do realize that I was sleeping with the Harper at our hold too, don't you? He was a very... thorough instructor." Uhm... in more ways than one. He licks his fingers of any left-over juice before smiling back at her. "I'm not a messenger. You'll have to elaborate more on what sort of tips messengers do get. I don't often tip the messengers that I use. Well, unless they are special."

If it were in her to do so, Kaesa would smack her palm against her head.  "I /knew/ it!" Triumphant however, is that comment.  Even if she wasn't being completely truthful.  "That's why mother always had me spy on your lessons."  And though she hadn't, she'd pretended to.  The girl does settle back in her chair, fingers pressed against her lips once more as she studies Kibi.  The curl of her lips only becoming apparent once she replaces her hand in her lap.  "Well tips, dear brother, come in all forms.  I..for instance, know of something quite.. unusual going on here at the Weyr."  Conspiratorial tones included in that statement, met with a too secretive smile, "I daresay it'd raise quite the stir if the right people found out about it." But she wouldn't be the one to tell such things, now would she be.  A snort does come, teasing in nature, "I'm well aware of what you define as special, Kibi.." Belated if anything, though the banter must be kept up.

Sii'kyn slips in from the little door.

Ashli slips in from the little door.

Aries comes up the stairs.

Slink. Slink. Slink. "Ha! If they find me here... I'll just tell them to go away!" Who else could be the owner of that rustic baritone, other than-- well, Ike? Ike! Ike, with weaving equipment. Everyone run in terror: Ike with baskets. An' the problem is, see, he's actually good at it. So, with reedbasket in tow, he plops down in 'his' chair and melts. "Freedom." Is someone dodging his duties? Not really. .. Really.

Kibai remains curled up in his chair, next reaching for another greenfruit, peeling the rind away from the juicy fruit. He chuckles at Kaes' reaction, "Oh, really? And here we thought we were being quiet about it. Well... maybe not all that quiet from time to time." He flashes her a teasing wink before continuing on, "Unusual? Such as what? Oh... do tell, sister-dear. Or are you trying to be mysterious?" Yes, there is definitely a trickle of amusement imbuing the tone of his words.

Ashli slithers up the stairs cautiously, dark blue gaze looking quite concerned as she glances from side to side, then shimmys herself inside the Quiet Corners carefully. Upon seeing no nannies, she breathes a sigh of relief and looks rather proud of herself, bounding in and plopping herself down into a chair near Ike. "Heyla, dragonrider!! How's Sidramuntalath faring?" she queries brightly, then waves energetically at Kibai and Kaesa. Quite the little ball of energy Ashli seems to be today.

Aries pokes a finger out at his sister, giggling girlishly. "Larna says you licked a glow in her weyr, Ashli!" He giggles again, smiling. Aries really is a girly boy. Not surprising when he's still the mirror-image of his sister even though he's about to hit puberty. Can't wait to see a nice blond beard on him, though, right? The others in the area are not quite ignored... More.. Not acknowledged, because Aries has nothing to say to them. Although he looks a bit frightened at the sight of the brownrider, especially since Pyrene scared him away from all dragon-riding sorts.

Kaesa's grin grows, "Quiet, no.  Mother had an idea, but father.. he rejected it.  There was that one time-" And Kaesa won't clue her brother into that particular story.  No, she's too busy grinning mischeviously, "..well it's not important.  But yes, they knew." And now she knew for certain too.  The arrival of others, namely energetic and talking others, earns a brief glance and polite smile in their direction.  Kaesa's eyes turning from them back to Kibi before she's back to smiling.  Sweetly, no less.  "Ah, but if I told you.. then well.. the secret would be out. And that would be a shame."  Especially since black mail could no longer be part of the picture.

Sii'kyn leans back and weaves like a weaver on crack. Mwahaha. "Ram's doin' good, Ashli. How's the nannies treatin' ya? I don't have to go bust anyone's tail, do I?" He winks over at one of his favorite kidlets, before chuckling at Aries. "Hullo there," he states solemnly, waving a tail-end of a reed. Kaesa and Kibai get a cursory glance-over, before he returns to his work. Er.. hobby work. Not work work. Because he's here to -escape- work, see! Yes.

Kibai came up here for quiet. Specific quiet, but... well... as suddenly he and little sis are being invaded, he shoots something of a dark glances towards the 'interlopers'. Annoyance shows for a moment, but it is being smoothed away and replaced with something a bit more tolerant. Well, that is until his attention is dragged right on back to Kaes, "What?" A few blinks. He reaches over to offer Kaes the plate of fruit almost distractedly, "Please don't say that you discussed my... well, /that/ with our mother." Scary, actually. "What about the cook? Or the milkmaid? Surely not the drummer..." Fear. "Oh, you know that I'm good with secrets." Even if he can't keep his, that is.

Ashli sticks her tongue at Aries and rolls her eyes, "Then Larna's been telling some harpers tales." she announces blithely, waving at Aries to be friendly. Ike is beamed at, "Well, I'm currently escaping them. They keep telling me that I'm some sort of wild child, and that I talk too much for my age. I'm 11, now!" Ashli insists, as if the argument is a tired old one, though dark blue eyes twinkle merrily, "But I think I'll get them to understand eventually." she admits with a wink in return. Kibai's dark glance is noticed, and Ashli returns the favor with a dark glance of her own, made almost as frightening by the narrowing of her eyes and the sudden angry sparkles of violet that seem evident in them, remniscent of her father...

Aries wrinkles his nose slightly, but waves a hand timidly at Ike anyway. With a quick scooch to the side, Aries is practically hiding behind his sister. Kibai is given an annoyed look, matching the older boy's glare one for one. A near-perfect image of Ashli's glare, although he isn't imitating her. Just doin' what seems to come natural to the family. Pushing his hands out, at Ashli, in a mock shove, he pouts suddenly, "Nuh-uh! Larna doesn't do that! /You/ tell tales! Just like with the jar! Larna's nice!"

A piece of fruit is taken, Kaesa doing so with utmost care in chosing only the plumpest one.  Which, once held in hand, is drawn back and lightly nursed while she gives consideration to Kibai's words.  All of which recieve little reaction from the now carefully schooled features of the girl.  "Well.. there was this one time.  I had to you see,"  A relfection perhaps on the Harper statement.  "And then with the cook.. I just had to.  He burnt my breakfast once."  And that look sent to Kibi just /tells/ that she knew he was at fault for that.  Now it's rather hard to tell if she's serious, or if she's joking.  And the fact that she soon turns all her attention onto finishing that fruit off nearly gives away any hope of finding out just what the truth of the story was.  Though Kibi has the advantage of knowing Kaesa rather well, so the task might be easier for him.  "Oh.. the secret,"  Her chin comes down slightly as a grin touches on her face.. Full out teasing her brother with the information she held.. and making him wait on it while she offers Sii'kyn a brief nod.  No verbal greeting as of yet.. and then, "Well.. it involves two people," Here comes that arch of the brow, "And, lets just say that you, brother dearest, would pale in comparison to them."

Sii'kyn kicks up his heels. "I think... that we should do something," he announces to the brats. "Maybe we should dye the bread dough blue. Wouldn't that be funny? And turn the butter black, so we can have High Reaches colors when we eat bread and butter." He ponders, working at an edge of the apparent square basket; "That, or something funny. Seriously, though, when was the last time anyone pranked -anyone-?" And he's supposed to be a role model. Sigh. "Maybe we should prank some of them." He narrows his gaze suspiciously at Kaesa and Kibai.

Kibai flickers a glance from Ashli to Aries and back again, because they really do bare looking at. You know, mirroring glares and all. He briefly considers a moment of applause at such talent. But, you know, when you are holding a plate with sliced fruit on it, that'd be just plain messy. Instead, after listeing to Kaes, he considers the possibility of throwing some of that fruit at her. You know, on principle or something. "Yes, the secret, love." Beat. "Honestly? Who? Not that I enjoy gossip or anything." Whatever... Wait. Being looked at. He turns his head to the side after getting that prickly feeling at the back of his neck that really bodes no good. There is evil afoot here. Head turns and Ike is finally noticed. "Sir?"

Ashli rolls her eyes at Aries. "I tell /good/ tales, though. Unlike you." she notes, as if that makes it all better and worth it. Ike is ooh-ed at, "I was thinkin' that yesterday!! It's been so /boring/! I was going to do something with sand and the living caverns, but sand gets kinda heavy after a while...and I do like your dying idea better." she giggles oh-so-innocently. "The last time I pranked anyone was when I got that fake tattoo and Daddy freaked. That was a really good one." Ashli beams proudly. "We should do something, though." she suddenly seems to decide, and says with some finality, azure eyes dancing brightly. The bratlet flicks another glance at Kibai before deciding the danger has passed, not having noticed Aries mimicking her 'evil glare of death and evil'.

"I don't tell no tales! You're lying! Mommy says you lie lotsa times!" Aries' head jerks around and he stares at Sii'kyn in near amazement. "Pranks? Aren't you s'possed to be good? Daddy says Ashli's bad because she pranks people..." Scaredy cat Aries to the rescue! Kibai is given a /look/, not a glare or a smile, just a look. "We can't do that. Daddy'll get mad at us, Ashli," he reminds the other girl with a patient, teacher-like tone.

"Mmm.  And it'd be more than enough to make mother and father blush." Which, really wasn't saying much, when one knew who Kaesa and Kibi's parents were.  Kaesa never quite was one to hold her tounge when secrets were involved at least not ones that she could share with her brother.  So the guise is broken quickly and she leans forwards.  Ashli, Aries and Sii'kyn known to be around, and thus the reason for the sudden lowering of her voice, "Well, it's between -" Who it is between and what exactly 'it' is, is put on hold as Kibi breaks eye contact with her, her own gaze following the direction his head turns.  And she too comes to regard Sii'kyn.  Kaes' lips twitching slightly at her brothers response.  There would be none of that for her.. and so.. "Hmm?" Yes, an eloquently put question and statement.  Followed with a glance towards the two kidlets; Kaesa's nose wrinkling slightly before she's regarding Kibi with something akin to amusement..?

Sii'kyn just realized it's his pose. Whooee! Absentminded Ike. "Well, Ram needs a good tooth-picking," Sii'kyn rambles. "Is that of good enough practical-joker quality?" He eyes Kaesa and Kibai, and leeeeeans forwards towards Ashli. "We should make 'em crawl into his mouth to pick out the back ones and make Ram close his mouth and give 'em a scare. It'd be fun!" Beam. "Or.." He pauses, and blinks over at Aries. "Pranks are the spice of life. But if you ever said I pranked anyone, ever, I'd have to laugh and pat your head condenscendingly and then make sure you got permanently assigned to the nastiest nanny ever." He pauses. "Wait. Tya retired and Py's a goldrider now, so maybe that wouldn't work.." Hackcoughsnicker.

Skepticism makes its way over Kibi's features, along with a fine dash of 'what the heck are these people talking about and do I really want to know?' And if he keeps getting looked at, the teenager is going to have to start wondering if he has suddenly acquired purple dots all over his face or something. Sure, he is gorgeous, but do they really need to look at him that way? As Kaes does lean towards him, he leans towards her in the hopes of learning something... or not. He rolls his eyes, reaching over with the intention of planting a hand to Kaes' face and push her way, albeit gently. Alright, so it is rather difficult to not overhear mutterings about cleaning out a dragon's mouth, from the inside. Broad and faux smile appears. So fake.

Ashli rolls her eyes and mutters something like 'Faranth save us' as she glares at Aries. "I only lie when I need to. And they're only little lies, and they're for good reasons, and Mommy shouldn't be talking bad about either of us to either of us." she comments unhappily, azure eyes suddenly looking somewhat repentant. "Daddy doesn't think I'm bad! He just thinks I'm a bit...funny. I keep him on his toes. There'd be no fun around here without me." Ashli states, almost as if to reassure herself as well. "Daddy won't get mad. He might even think it'd be funny. And I'll tell Zaqith to keep him happy and distracted." she grins brightly at the thought of how to convince Zaqith of it. Ashli giggles at the thought of making people crawl into Ram's mouth to pick his teeth, before she beams oh-so-innocently, "You could simply assign him as some sort of 'handmaiden' to Pyrene." she notes brightly, "Since she'll have so much to do nowadays anyways with the clutch and all. Though that might be a little too mean to Pyrene..." Ashli suddenly blinks and notes, "Ooh! Congratulations on the beautiful clutch, by the way!! I waved at you out there on the sands, but I think you were a bit preoccupied." Ashli beams happily...

Aries smirks, a faint grin showing behind his wicked look. "Mommy never talks about me. She loves me more. Hah. That's what you get for always being bad, Ashli." Aries jumps, staring at Sii'kyn in shock. "NOT PYRENE!" He screeches in fear, taking a giant step back. "I'll help! Really I will!" With a scared look, he eyes the two siblings over there, then his own sister, then Ike again. "Really! Just don't make me go with Pyrene, she's /Mean/." Yes, he's loud, but at least he didn't give away the plan, right?

And quite suddenly.. there's a fruity-smelling hand in her face.  Guiding her right back to her seat.  Kaes stifles the snicker that threatens to come out, one hand even raising to cover her mouth as she makes a rather 'polite cough', and then, "Dear brother.. I do believe they fancy you."  She can make such an assumption because she is the evil one out of this pair.  Settling her forearms over her stomach now, Kaesa contents herself with clearing her throat.  The prelude to offering out, "..do you remember that fellow you ran across a few days ago?"  A subtle hint, if nothing else.  Should Kibs say no, well that wouldn't stop Kaesa from continuing, "He recieved one such message.  From a lady 'friend' no less.."

Sii'kyn muses. "Anything but Pyrene, hmm? Py's not that bad, really." He'll refrain from making comments such as 'even in bed', because-- hey, they're young, even if they're weyrbrats. He appraises Aries and Ashli for a moment, and a devilish look crosses his face. "Hey, guys, how old did you say ya'll were?" Ashli's evil enough, and-- hey! Aries can get prankdom beaten into him. Ike's got that Gleam going. "Thanks, Ash. It /was/ a pretty clutch, wasn't it? And Cadge was only four eggs off from Nissi, and Nissi got caught by a bronze. How cool is that?" His beam is broad, even as he settles his hobbywork aside, shooting glances every now and then to Kaesa and Kibai.

Kibai smirks after Kaes, hand reaching up to brush away the dark hair from his eyes for the moment. Of course, it simply falls right back into place. Can he help if he got all the good looks and she got all the left-over resentment? Or was that evil? Such a darling creature, his sister. Careful though, she bites. "Which one would that be? There really are so many, Kaesa-dear. Have I slept with him?" *slurp* Yes, the noise that is made as he sucks the juice out of a slice of orangefruit. Pretty good fruit too. Orangefruit crop must have been perfect this turn. "I like the way you say friend, Kaesa."

Ashli huffs at Aries. "Pyrene is very nice. You just aren't nice to her." Apparently, Pyrene has gotten upon Ashli's good list. "We're a little over 11." she answers, eyeing him curiously, though she doesn't ask the question dancing in dark eyes. "It was! I really liked that egg, the one that was all shiny and beautiful, and had green tinges on it, and looked kinda like a waterfall, with a spring, and all..." she natters on for a moment about what seems to have been the Celtic themed egg, though who knows, her description is ambiguous enough for it to have been any number of eggs. "It was very cool! I think Cadge's eggs were prettier, too." This last statement is whispered conspiratorially to Ike, as she leans towards him a bit.

Aries? Grow /into/ prandom? Not likely. He's too dense, or so Ashli would say. "We're 11. And they were pretty eggs. But I think Cadge is gonna eat Nissionath." He nods sharply, a faint smile tugging his lips. "She's just as mean as Pyrene is." Yes, Aries is secretly afraid of Cadgwith, too. But he'll go along with the prank as long as Ike doesn't feed Aries to Cadge... Or worse, Pyrene!

Kaes was evil, Kibi was conceited.  Quite the pair they made.  At her brothers words, Kaesa only rolls her eyes, a delicate sounding sigh coming as she idly waves one hand infront of her face.  The dismissive gesture sent towards her brother, "One of them, brother.  I can't remember every one, nor do I even want to try."  And should she even make the attempt?  She'd have a head full of gray hair by noon.  Her lips pull up into another one of those half grins at the last of his words; her gaze spared off of him and towards those around her once more, until its back to studying Kibai, "Well his /friend/," And there's that twist to the word again, met with a brief widening of that grin, "Sent out two other scrolls.. the same wording and everything."  And therein, dear folks, lay the secrets and the scandle.

Sii'kyn muses. "Hn. Interesting. That's too bad-- only a turn or two older, and I would have asked ya'll to Stand. I've got a quota, see, and you two would have been perfect.." He sighs. "I'll have to find someone else, I suppose." A sidling glance, but he shakes his head. "Too scrawny," he says aloud, to some question in his head-- no doubt that Ram queried. "Okay. Let's do it." An absolutely toothy smirk, and he rises to his feet. "If Cadge eats Nissi... Tail first or wings first, y'think?" he questions Aries, before snickering and heading towards Kibai and Kaesa, automatically putting on the 'Foreboding Weyrleader' face. "Messenger, steward," he states evenly. "I seem to have.. some sort of dilemna." He shifts a glance over his shoulder. Are the brats gonna back him up on this or not? "See, Ram has a problem with his teeth, and I'm not.. quite the young colt I used to be. Perhaps you two could help?" One slim eyebrow lifts in question. No, he doesn't care that he's intruding.

Aries giggles, shrugging through his faint disappointment at not being able to stand, although being not asked with Ashli is better than her being asked and him not, right? With a bright grin, he nods, wrinkling his nose eagerly. "Tail. She'll chomp it." Young colt? Ike was a young colt? Is that supposed to be non-flattery for young stud, there, browner? For a moment, Aries forgets the prank and frowns slightly at Sii'kyn. "But what about me? I'm small enough!" There's a slight whine to his voice as he eyes his sister and then the other two, then Ike. "We're littler than them. You just said so!" Whooops. Brilliant Aries. You're ruining the plan!

Kibai's chin turns and he simply squints across to Kaes. Squint. "Are you serious..." Actually, he doesn't sound all that amazed, impressed, or otherwise in awe of what she has to say. He finally chuckles though, dropping back into his chair, tucking bare feet more securely underneath him. "What are you doing reading the mail, Kaes? For shame. I should have you fired." And then the dark shadow of Authority falls upon him. Blink. Teenager's head lifts to peer up at Ike as they are approached. Automatically, the young man slides from his seat to stand, feet slipping into his shoes. "Yes, sir? Help with what, do you mean?"

Kaesa's head comes down in a humoured nod, "I am," before she draws her hands up to indicat herself, "...me?"  Cue the all too innocent look from Kaesa as she shakes her head, "It just happened to fall open, and..well I had to pick it up and wipe the dirt off it." And in the process.. read it.  Her lips give a slight purse, as if she were on the verge of saying more, when she too glances towards Sii'kyn.  Half spurred by her brother standing and addressing the other.  And in lazy fashion, she follows.  Though without as much politeness as her brother, "...help?" Master of the one word responses and that brow arch, Kaesa simply folds her hands over her stomach in a slightly slouched fashion.

Ashli frowns slightly and sighs at Ike. "Really? You'd ask us to Stand? Awww...I wish we were older, Aries! Well, maybe next clutch..." she says with a slightly disappointed air, though she quickly perks up at the fact that they'd be suitable Candidates. Ashli giggles brightly before suddenly turning very serious. "You know, dental care in dragons is very important." she notes, before whacking Aries with the back of her hand and noting aloud, "But, you see, it takes a very special kind of person to clean teeth, and I'm afraid that Aries and I would just be too little...too easy to be swallowed, you know, at our size." Ashli nods brightly. Aha. The queen of thinking up quick excuses for her twin, she seems to be.

Sii'kyn lifts a brow slightly, eyes narrowing lightly at Kaesa. Not getting any brownie points, nope. Now, /Kibai/, on the other hand, gets an approving smile. He's going to like this one. "He's got food stuck in his teeth. Like my young companion just said.. Ram has this nasty tendancy of trying to swallow when people are in his mouth, and he might actually swallow one of them and /then/ where would we be?" Ike rolls his eyes. "So, if you'd follow me..." He settles firmly towards the door. And if they don't follow? Well, them's some tough cookies, then. He'll demote them! Whoo-hoo! .. or not. Coughcough.

Sii'kyn wanders out through the little door all but hidden off to the side.

Kibai flickers a sidelong glance to Kaesa, and then reaches over to snag her shoulder and drag her along with him. He is /so/ not going to have to talk his way out of this one alone.

Kaesa..really doesn't have much of a choice now.  Even as she begins to protest.. "Kiii-" Words are cut off short, and out she goes after brother dearest and Sii'kyn."

Kibai continues to move along after Sii'kyn, one hand with fingers firmly curled around the fabric of Kaes' shirt. Yes, definitely not going through this alone. "Sir? Wouldn't... firelizards be better equipped to help with such a thing?  Or possibly a very long stick? Very, very long stick?" Very long.

"Hmmm. Okay, Ram, open wide," Ike cheerfully comments, sidling glances over at Kibai and Kaesa. "What're your two's names, again, for the record?" Just so when he has to mark off 'Ram ate <these> people today..' he'll know, of course. Snigger. Ram, meanwhile, balefully eyes the one pair of siblings and drops his head to whuffle friendly-ish at Ashli and Aries, though his eyes stay triggered on.. one of the other two, though it's hard to tell if he's staring at Kibai or Kaesa. "No, it's best when a person does it. Son, you can take the left side, and darlin', you can take the right side of his mouth. Ram!" Sidramuntalath finally gives him a baleful look and opens wiiiide. Lookit all those nice shiny pointies.. With lots of tendons and icky meat-junk stuck between them. "Apparently there's a big bone shard in his back teeth, on the left side, so look out for it," he idly warns Kibai. Cough.

Brothers.. they were always good for something.  His words draw the briefest of laughs, "A stick? Honestly now!"  There's a brief snort, and then Sidramuntalath is spotted and Kaesa's mouth closes with a firm 'clunk' of bottom teeth hitting upper.  Her gaze remains on the dragon until she's called..darlin?  And so her response of, "Kaesa," Comes a little more forced than she'd like, and is met with a semi apologetic look afterwards.  Must remember her manners. Now that there was something to be worried about.  Such as becoming an apetizer for a dragon.  ".er..yes, Kibi, you get the left side."  Where that bone was.  Kaesa will just go off to the right side.  Wrangling herself free of Kibi's grasp and sending him a fleeting look.. Oh yes, he /had/ to drag her along to play dentist for a dragon.

Ashli beams and waves at Ram happily. "Hi there, Sidramuntalath!!" she chirps brightly, reaching upwards and stretching her petite form, her hand moving towards his nose as it to pat it. "Ooh, Aries, isn't this fun?" she questions oh-so-innocently, waving with her free hand to the two other siblings as they wander straight into the thick of the plot...

Aries blinks slowly, still confused about why he can't help, but when he's faced with Sidramuntalath, he remembers. "Oh yeah." Ram is given a shaky, but happy smile and even a wave as he giggles to himself. "Hi, Sidramamta...th." Aries stumbles over himself, having never fully gotten the hang of Ike's dragon's name. But yes. We reach the middle of the plan. Lock the two secret-tellers right in there. Muahaha.

And thus... that would have to be the side that Kibai would be on. Naturally." He squints after Ike though at the mention of 'son', and then slowly replies rather dryly, "Kibai, sir." Eyes narrow at the sight of the dragon's gaping maw and it takes an enormous force of will to not turn right on back around and walk away. One hand plants over mouth and nose to spare him some of that proverbial 'dragon breath'. The young man makes a wide berth of that mouth, only to come around a little on the left side, "Where?... Could you have him open it up a little wider, please?" Oh fardles. Is that drool or Faranth knows what? Come on, Kibi. Buck up. All in a days work.

Sii'kyn smirks slightly. "Ram confers his highest greetings," he mutters to Ashli. Yes, Ram apparently decided that she wasn't eating-worthy, but worthy of approval, at least. "Hm. Kibai and Kaesa. Siblings?" he interrogates. "Wider, Ram." Ram cranks the muzzle all the way open, enough for a couple of people to enter, crouched, in tight corners. "Oh, and just pry it right on out. He'll letcha know if you're being too forceful with it. It might be a little bit slippery, too, you know.. rotten meat and all that," he airly comments to Kaesa and Kibai. Then he retreats to his two little troublemakers-- okay, one little justice keeper and one little troublemaker, and grins devilishly. Mwahaha!

Kaesa regards Kibi from the corner of her eyes, ".. we /must/ talk after this, dear brother,"  And that coment should answe Sii'kyn's question on whether or  not their siblings.  Though she doesn't do it herself.  So much as she does glance at the mouth of the dragon she was about to step into.  Or.. lean into.  For the first time in her life, the young girl is left at a standstill.  And it shows in the contortion of her face, the wrinkling of her brows and the pursed lips.  Just like mother looked that one day Kaesa brought home a new pet.  Still, she does move forwards.  Her hands pushing up her sleeves as she goes.  Cheeks puckering out from baited breath.

Ashli beams at Ike, "Really? How sweet of him." she comments blithely, beaming up at Ram as well. Ashli covers her mouth with a hand and begins to cough and hack and weeze. Or...is that laughter? No, of course not, Ashi's had too much practice at hiding her laughter. Her sudden coughing fit comes to a stop as suddenly as it began, and a few tears leak out of her eyes as she waves a hand and notes, "Ohh, umm...sudden allergies, you know..."

Aries giggles again, watching motionlessly as the two siblings go about doing what Ike says. As the action gets going, he starts bouncing slightly, hyped up by his first ever prank... And he can't even get in trouble for it because the weyrleader's helpin'! No wait! It was the weyrleader's /idea/! He giggles at Ashli's tears of laughter, giggling incessently himself.

Come on now. Kibi has gone through worse things in life. Right?... Right? At Kaes' words though, he is chuckling darkly once more. "Must we? I'd rather you just got down to it and tried to beat my black and blue later." And into the dragon's mouth she goes? He sighs though, still keeping a hand up in a vain attempt to keep him from that breath. "Where..." He leans inside further, rolling his eyes at the sound of laughter that is barely heard through the sound of draconic breathing.

"Ram says it'd help if you actually walked /in/," Ike hollers helpfully. "Don't worry, I won't let him do anything stupid. Just.. step up onto his tongue and sorta lean against his teeth while you un-wedge stuff." Sii'kyn, plotting evily? Of course not. "They're too scrawny," he sadly states. "It's a pity, really." Sighheave. "Need any help gettin properly in?" he questions of them, innocently, before choking back guffaws, leaning back and trying not to die of not-breathing.

Quite the number of squeaks come -- Kaesa's attempt at carrying on a conversation while she's peering rather cautiously and with much disgust at the inside of the dragons mouth.  Good thing this can't be seen from the outside, else she'd have a ruined reputation.. Finally though, one squeak leads into words. Though these are tightly pinched, "..wob be tryin',"  Is given.  Semi  humoured as she pinches her nose with one hand.  The other pawing innefectually at the area's the mouth not occupied by razor sharp teeth.  Until that laughter is heard.. or bits and pieces of it.  And Kaesa nearly pulls her head out of the dragon's mouth.  Stopping only when 'help' is offered.  At which point an indigannt snort might just echo from within the mouth.  And Kaesa (foolishly?) plunges further in.  "...hewp inbeeb.." Might just be heard from the still nose-pinched, teeth checking teen.

Ashli blinks innocently. Laughter? What laughter? That was a full-fledged allergy attack, of course. Hmpf. Non-believers. Ashli blinks. "Those two? Too scrawny? Well...I suppose, yes...or perhaps they're simply too scared..." she notes brightly, before suddenly coming down with another fit of allergies, this time tears streaming down her cheeks with suppressed laug...ahem, the strength of the allergy attack, that is...

Aries collapses onto the ground to simply hold his sides while he laughs away. Since he's wasn't that far from it to begin with, his body thunks slightly. Wow! Who knew pranks could be so much fun? The boy glances up at Ike, one hand stuffed against his mouth to stiffle his giggles.

Alright. This has gone on long enough. With a grumble of something best left censored, Kibai pushes up the sleeves of his shirt beyond his elbows and steps in, murmuring to the dragon, "Pardon me..." Always be polite whenever climbing into somedragon's mouth. He squints closer to the back of the dragon's mouth, one hand coming up to brush with fingers against the roof of the mouth, "I can't see anything... Where?" He has pretty much well given up covering his own nose and mouth now. A few more words that he did not learn in an Harper-taught class are mumbled as he locates what could be the offending bit of bone. Hopefully it isn't just another tooth. But, he is going to reach for it and tug hard, with or without Kaes' help.

In your mind, you hear a soft voice say, << Thank you. That bone.. very annoying. You have my gratitude. >> Pure heat, pure Sidramuntalath; << You know... >> A low rumble of ash-tinted humor, the dry rustle of a deep baritone voice against the fiery /heat/ of simple mind presence; << ... I think you'll do. >>

Sidramuntalath has other ideas than Ike, Aries, and Ashli's plannings, though. He lightly clamps down on the two in his mouth, just a bit; juuuust enough to make it clear to the world that he's not letting them out. Ike.. stops laughing. Yes, he does. Mental argument ensues. "Ram, you can't do this to me! It's unfair! Raaaaam.. they're scrawny," he whimpers, after a moment (or five). "Ram. You do it." His nose hikes into the air. "Okay, okay. Fine. Fine. /Fine/! You don't have to be so.. forceful." Taking a deep breath, he addresses... Ram's mouth. "Kaesa, Kibai, would either of you be inclined to Stand on the Sands of this great weyr for Cadge and Nissi's double-clutch?" There's a reflective pause, and he sighs. "I don't think he'll let you out until you say yes."

Ashli sighs at Aries. "You know, we should've volunteered to go in there afterall." the girl says, completely deadpanning, azure eyes dancing with amusement at the dry statement. "Scrawnyness is a good thing." Ashli notes studiously, huffing slightly at Ike, though she winks brightly and claps for the two. "Candidates to prank, Candidates to praaaank!" she cheers happily. Apparently, Ashli can't wait until there're more of them around so that she can organize a huge prank.

Aries blinks, getting up off the floor quickly. "Yeah. We shoulda." He pouts slightly, looking downcast, though he does manage a smile and a shrug for the new most likely candidates.

"Theb!" Kaesa comments, gesturing towards..something vaguely bone shaped.  Whether or not it's what Kibi and her were sent in to get is beyond her.  Though once Kibi moves to tug at whatever /it/ was, she goes to help.  Albeit she only gets a half step into doing so, before both her hands come down, one from the pinch about her nose and the other from infront of her and..well she does a pretty good imitation of her brothers earlier words and glances /up/ at the dragon.  "What'd you say?"  And now she's hearing voices?  Voices multiplied as Sii'kyn's question comes, and Kaesa is staring at Kibi.  "...Kibi!" It's not an excited comment, so much as a growl.  Yes, it's his fault.  If she hadn't heard that rumour about the bluerider and him, then she wouldn't have teased him and she wouldn't have gotten grabbed and pulled out here to pick at a dragons teeth!

Kibai nearly cracks his head upon the roof of the dragon's mouth, and this time the word that he mutters could definitely give a Seacrafter a run for his money. Owww. Stars. He reaches a free hand up to rub at the back of his head while the other holds a bit of gristly bone. And then it is suddenly getting very close in here. Very very close. Blue-irised gaze shoots over to Kaes, and then outside. He has enough problems with his own personality as it is, he really doesn't need more voices talking away in his head. "Yes?" If it'll get him out of here, he'd probably agree to anything.

Sii'kyn jovially slaps Ram on the jaw. "Let the boy out. I need to talk to the girl, though." He rummages though his pre-done-lines. "Okay. Lesse. Kaesa, was it? You reeeeeally, really need to say yes, here. I mean, the chance at bein' a candidate it so slim that if you don't take it.. I might be forced to let Ram eat you." Ram chortles at that, a husky draconic noise that rumbles up through his throat; meanwhile, he just opens his mouth as wide as before, enabling the siblings to back out of his mouth if they so wish. "And good choice, Kibai. Really." Sunny beam is shot his-ways. "Ram, I hate you," he then pleasantly announces.

"Kibi!" The call comes again, met with a small darkening of the girls gaze.  And..she begins scrunching down some.  Shoulders hunkered over as Kaesa hugs her arms against stomach.  Gaze on Kibai, even after she hears Sii'kyns words.. "Just what will mother and fa-" But there it is.  The too /broad/ grin and brightening of her face.  Her gaze slides back to regard Sii'kyn, "Yes."  Quite firm, quite proud and quite.. mischevious.  Oh she's gone and done it.. she accepted.  After flinching at that nice little rumble that comes from Sidramuntalath, of course.

Ashli claps yet again at their acceptance and beams, whispering to Aries, "Do you think they really know what they're getting into?" Because, of course, if they did, they might just rather be swallowed alive. Not that Ashli will tell them that, this early...when they're so easily prankable...and a double clutch, with at least 45 Candidates...well, the pranks will be astounding. :)

Aries pouts for just a moment more that it wasn't him and Ashli that were searched, but he got to see it happen, nonetheless. "Yeah!" He half-shouts, pumping a fist as he busts out into a giant grin. His sister is given a hug before he calls "I gotta tell Dad!" Of course, tattletaler would run right to Daddy and tell him first thing about this awesome thing he saw. "Bye! 'Gratulations!"

Kibai is quick to step over lower teeth to get the heck out of that mouth. Ugh. He reaches his free hand over to Kaes to offer her help getting out of there as well. And as soon as he is free, he is tossing the scrap of bone and sinew to the ground, wiping his hand upon his thigh. Just disgusting. He finally looks back up though, still not quite all that sure about what he agreed to. "Congratulations?" Alright... "Thank you, sir."

Sii'kyn leans back on his heels. "Congratulations," he drily comments to Kibai, nodding slightly. "And you're more than welcome." Wryly, he snickers at Kaesa, winks, and shifts on his heels. "If you'd follow me," he airily states, as if his dragon didn't just nearly threaten to eat possible candidates. "I'll getcha set up in the barracks." Widebeam.

Kaesa does take that hand out and climbs down.  Sure of just one thing.. her parents would be /irate/! And that in itself, was more than enough cause for her to do this.  Never mind the chores, tasks and.. shared living quarters.  She'd deal.  Sii'kyn is offered a small nod, that smile still not fading from her face as she moves to follow him when he does.  Kibai the only recipient of her whisper of, ".. just wait till they hear about this!"

Kibai chuckles faintly at Kaes' words, nodding over to her. He flashes her what could be a wink before he is looking up to Ike, "Yes. After you, Weyrleader."

Sii'kyn strides purposely to the Caverns.

You survived! Escaping through the heavy canvas curtain you arrive here...

Candidate Barracks

Serviceable, this low-ceiling'd room runs right and left from the heavy canvas curtains that function as a door:  relatively bare of ornamentation, tidy glows light the few worn tapestries that adorn the walls and depict a variety of dragons in flight or at rest.  But it is the cots, lots and lots of cots, that distinguish this room from the others, their blue or black coverlets tucked neatly over relatively fresh rushes.

Candidate's haven, this is their escape from the bustling world of chores and Weyr; visitors are welcome if invited.

Resting atop the doorframe are six firelizards.

You see Name Board and Celeste's Cot here.

You notice Celeste asleep here.

Sii'kyn and Kaesa are here.

Obvious exits:

Caverns

Sii'kyn sends a drudge running for a cot.  After a few minutes the drudge returns dragging a big heavy cot for Kibai.

Sii'kyn widely sweeps a motion with his arm. "Welcome to the wonderful world of Candidacy," he dryly comments. "Have fun." A flashed grin, and he's heading.. back out the door.
