Logfile
from Mosiah.
Not
There
The
drab walls of this weyr are warmed and colored by the faded and worn tapestries
that line them, these placed where book-filled shelves and pegs can't be found.
Glowbaskets are randomly strewn about, either hanging from the pegs and casting
a warm glow over the area, or settled onto the shelves offering light with
which to see. In the farthest reaches of the weyr, and settled behind a
curtained parition are the sleeping quarters. When drawn back, the curtain
reveals a medium-sized bed fitted with a blue quilt and large pillows; a chest
resting at the foot of the bed and a shelf above. Kihaelth's couch rests not
more then a stone's throw away from this, and even upon this there are signs
that it is occupied by Kihaelth and Tevya, for a pillow still lays atop it. In
the northeastern portions, a door leading to the bathing chambers can be seen.
The northern portions are dedicated to the hearth; where a U shaped
pillow-lined and backed bench surrounds a woven-blanket and pillow lined
depression in the floor that sits just infront of the warm hearth. Pegs and
shelves adorn the walls surrounding the mantle, from which Riding gear hangs,
and personal items can be found. Behind the back of the bench is the dining
area, this nothing more then a old table with four chairs surrounding it. The
rest of the weyr has been devoted to Kihaelth, including the small mud-wallow
in the back of the weyr.
Tevya
is here.
Obvious
exits:
Northeast Ledge
Tevya
is here, even if it's almost impossible to see her. What with everything she has piled up within her weyr. A small cradle sits off to one side,
complete with a small blanket tucked inside and a small hanging toy attatched
to the head. Little objects rest upon
the table--baby sized clothes, some toys, even some small canasters of baby
food. And in the midst of this rather
large conglomeration of toys and baby related items--is Tevya. A slightly thoughtful look is upon her face
as she stands with her back half-turned to the entrance of her Weyr; and her
hand placed upon her stomach. Which was
quite frankly, unusually large and.. rounded?
As Moe
dismounts from the very obliging Kihaelth, he comes about to give the blue an
affectionate pat on the foreleg. "Delightful as always, big guy." Of
course as he speaks that, his voice is a little dulled with the sourball that
is currenly puffing out one cheek. Yumm. He stretches his arms up for a moment,
grunting, as he continues further into the weyr. And from there to stop, and
stare. Wrong weyr. Has to be. "Uhm...?"
See..
Kihaelth is evil in his ways. Kihaelth
didn't tell Tevya he was going out for a joyride, let alone that he'd come back
with Moe. So when Tevya 'hears' her lifemate approach, she turns towards him to
offer him a grin. Still unmindful that
Moe was with him, until the Healer is spotted and the grin faulters. Incredibly fast, it does that. And slowly Tevya turns red while attempting
to make that stomach bulge smaller without drawing attention to the obvious
thing. "Moe!" Cheerful.. too cheerful does she offer that,
along with a (hopefully dazzling?) smile, "What are you doing here?" Kihaelth, upon hearing something from Tevya,
slinks off to his wallow with a rather amused thrum. He didn't do anything.
Mosiah
just stands there and blinks. He murmurs, "Apparently this isn't the wrong
weyr..." He takes a couple more
steps forward, and considering his long legs, it doesn't take much to take him
further in. A thumb jerks back the blue's retreating way, "He just sort of
appeared, and I got on and... what is all of this?" *boggle*
Tevya
says, "This?" Tevya asks with
a slightly puzzled glance--she's playing dense on purpose, while turning to
glance towards the Weyr; before Kihaelth has her glancing down at her
stomach. See, life mates were good for
something. If not a lame excuse. "Oh! Is that where I put that?" Tevya responds, glancing down at her stomach
with an entirely mock-surprised look, "I was looking for it earlier
too.." And in goes her hand to
remove a rather plump pillow, which once fluffed, is set insdie the
cradle. And doing her best to look
rather nonchalant, she offers yet one more smile, "So.. what brings you up
here?" Besides Kihaelth, of
course. Nope. She's not even going to go into why she has all this baby
stuff. Until she realizes what that
look is for, and quickly steps forward towards Mosiah to hopefully fix whatever
traumatization she'd just incurred on the poor healer. "This is for
Fyria.. Her baby? I'm throwing her a
party." You know the
'Reachians--and Infernians.. any reason for a party is a good thing, "He..
went and got you?" Yes, now the
blue is given a /stare/ and /glare/, "I'm going to have to have a talk
with him." Never mind what she was
doing with a pillow under her tunic."
Mosiah
is such a terribly observant healer when it comes to the human condition, isn't
he? His eyes open to about the size of
marks when he finally catches sight of Tevya's tummy, and puts the rest
together and... "Ohhhhh, I think I'm feeling a little faint." Both
arms reach out as if to balance himself. *waver-waver-plop* The healer falls to
the ground, but it is a controlled falled that leaves him sitting on Tevya's
floor with legs crossed, peering up at her... and the pillow. Pillow.
*gulp* "You're throwing her a
party?" It might take him a little bit to catch up here.
"Oh
shards.." Tevya mumbles, reaching
out to try and stop the fall, but failing quite miserably. Still, all is not lost, so she drops to the
ground herself, sitting just infront of him.
"Yup. It's all for
Fyria. See, we had this talk and I
noticed how pregnant she actually is. I
think she's going to have her baby sometime soon, and I wanted to do something
to help." And her hand waves out
towards the stuff in her weyr, "So I began taking up a collection of
stuff. Some of this is from home; some
of it I managed to trade for or buy, and some are gifts from the other wing
Riders and friends of Fyria." See
how it all fits in? Except the pillow,
of course. "You're.. okay aren't
you?" Finally does she ask that
question, turning back towards him and looking rather concerned, "You look
a little..sick."
Mosiah
just stares at Tevya. Yes, stares. It is like he sees her, but he doesn't.
Scary, yes? At least the sourball didn't fall out of his mouth. And he
continues to stare at her as she speaks. Did he hear a word of it? Hard to say.
Is his heart still beating? A pulse? His chest seems to heave once. Ah, some
sign of life. And he finally speaks, "This was all for Fyria?"
"Of
course it is." Tevya responds, "All of it. You really didn't think that it was for me did you?" Tevya finally seems to realize something,
and quickly adds: "I just wanted
to do something nice for her. And that
entire deal with the..pillow came from here." Yes, she's admitting to it
at long last, standing and striding to a table where she pulls a small scrap of
parchment off, "My mom said that it's a good idea to sympathize with
mothers to be. That it helps you
understand them. She suggested.. that entire thing." Abashed, Tevya offers the scrap out towards
Moe with an apologetic smile, "I didn't mean to scare you if I did. I just want to try to do something
nice."
Mosiah
blinks a few more times and finally manages to find his focus, and that is most
immediately on Tevya's face. "I... uh... I wasn't sure what to
think," he admits, looking a little abashed. "Faranth, a turn ago I
have even thought that'd I'd ever had a chance with you and then I saw..."
He trails off once more, and then comes the smile. It is so very small at first
before it finally gains ground on his features to crinkle at the corners of his
eyes as well. He covers her hand with his, "It is actually very nice of
you to do that for her."
Tevya
can at last smile as well. Quite glad
to have a good portion of that done with.
"You looked so scared there for a moment, I wasn't quite sure what
to say. Or do." Tevya responds, "And Kihaelth is going
to sleep on the ledge tonight."
She has to add that, because the blue was still quite amused with his
actions--and sends a slap of his tail agains the mud in his wallow to say as
much. Moe's later words have her
shaking her head, the grin still in place, "Don't ever think that-you're
one of the most important people to me.. and thank you. I just hope she's surprised by it all and
that she doesn't have the baby before I have a chance to give all of this to
her." Offering his hand a squeeze
and him a small kiss she then grins, "You want to see everything I got for
her?"
Mosiah
doesn't quite blush, but it is a very near thing. Instead, he continues to
smile at her. "Ohhhh, not so much scared -well, maybe a little bit. Just
sort of... oh, shocked." He can even chuckle at himself now. "Ohhh,
I'm sure she will be surprised by it, and I can swear that I won't say a word.
But, you had better do it soon. It is getting awfully close, or so I've been
lead to believe." He returns her kiss, tasting a little of that sourball
too as he finally finds his feet and pushes up to stand, pulling her up as
well. Yep. He is going to have quite a few sleepless nights in his future after
this one.
"Which
is why I've got everything in here. I
just got it all delivered today.
He," And Tevya motions towards Kihaelth, "Helped out some. I've no idea why he went straight down to
get you though--Not that I mind. But I
swear, he's getting a mind of his own more and more." Which wasn't really a bad thing. Tevya then moves over towards the bulk of
the items, motioning to each one, "I think this'll help with where she can
put the stuff. The cradle and the bags
for the clothes. I tried to get a small
trunk, but that didn't happen just yet.."
And on she goes, indicating each of the new things until she's reached
the end, "And that's just about everything I could get and come up
with. You think she'll need anything
else?"
Mosiah
flickers a glance askance at that pillow as they look through the stuff. As she
explains things, he plucks that pillow from the cradle, working it slowly in
his hands. "Wow, you have really thought about this for quite some time
now, haven't you?" And then he hesitates just the slightest, glancing to
her, "Are you going to invite her over here, or sneak it all over to her
weyr later?"
"I
have about the party. Kihaelth is happy
that Urzketh is going to have a small one... That's what Kihaelth calls the
baby.. Anyways, I just thought it'd be a good thing that'll get Fyria's mind
off of things and let her have some fun for a little while. Besides, she's been
such a good friend, it's the least I can do." Tevya responds with a vague
flip of her hand, "Other then that.. I really haven't..thought about
it." The other it, of course,
"Why have you?" And that's
something she doesn't wait for on long, because she's just afraid there'll be
another fainting spell, "I think I'm going to bring her here. Unless I can find some way to get her out of
her weyr long enough for me to get all of this in."
Mosiah
nods his head vaguely to her words. "Ohh, I'm sure she would enjoy it.
Including getting out of her weyr, that is if Kariel will let her out." He
grins absently, still kneading that pillow in his hands just the slightest.
"And she will greatly appreciate it. All of this stuff. You did put a lot
of thought into this." Yeah, he is very much impressed, and seems to be
showing it. He blinks back to her, "Thought about... it?"
"Well..
maybe you can help there? Keep Kariel
busy enough so that she can slip out of her weyr long enough for me to get all
of this in?" Tevya asks. "It
shouldn't take longer than maybe a candlemark or so. Probably less if I can get all of the decorations set up in
time." And then she's nodding. "Well yes. You just seemed so surprised when you came in. I just was wondering why. It's not like I have anything planned.. I'm
sort of curious."
Mosiah
reaches a hand around to rub at the back of his neck as he considers. "I
don't thin it would take much to keep him away for a moment. Just come up with
some old hypochondriac auntie and that would be that." Gotta love those
old lower cavern biddies. His lips draw to the side with something that isn't
so much a smirk but an embarrassed grimace. "Surprised... yeah.
Uhhhh." He is clearly hesitant about continuing, flickers Tevya a glance,
and then finally answers. "I didn't expect this. Any of this, Tevya. And I
don't mean /this/," a hand waves to indicate the baby stuff. "Well, I
mean I didn't expect that either, but that isn't what I mean." A sigh.
"I didn't expect you. And being with you. And it completely threw off my
entire time table." Figure that one out.
"Good..
That could probably do it.." Tevya responds at first, before Moe's words
are heard and all else is forgotten as she sits down. On whatever happens to be handy.
"Well was it a bad surprise or.." That question is left hanging as she turns to glance around the
weyr before the actual meaning of his words are--or almost are, "Threw you
off how? I didn't mean to scare you.. I
really was just trying to do what I thought would help. I mean, none of this is anything
that.." And now she's quite curious, "Wait.. your time
table?"
"I
like organization in my chaos." And, Faranth knows, Moe has quite a bit of
chaos in his life -most having to do with himself. Controlling. Something must
be controlled. "And I had it all figured out. I'd apprentice 'til I was
eighteen, become a journeyman at eighteen. Of course, when I got Searched that
one time, everything got thrown off, but I managed to get back on track."
As he speaks, he gesticulates, pointing here, tossing his arms there,
eye-contact at times and then turning away to pace. "I'd become a
Journeyman and get posted here to High Reaches. That went perfectly as well.
I'd spend a good ten turns or so just doing whatever and fooling around. You know,
just whatever, then I'd find some nice girl to settle down with and maybe have
a kid or two if I was lucky. It was all set.. only thing was, I found the girl
/turns/ before I meant to, completely throwing off my time table."
Suddenly, he stops, looking back to her. "And then I see you with the
tummy and... and... "
"Sometimes
you have to trust things. That.. well
that they'll work out how they're suppose to and that they'll work out right
because it feels right. Everything
about it." Tevya begins to respond,
"Faranth knows I had a plan for my life.. but that changed to. And for the better. I'd not do a thing differently now if it
meant I wouldn't have everything I have now." Which is relatively easy for her to say, and may not be the same
case for others. "Do you regret
anything you did.. I mean if you had the chance would you do it the
same?" Curiously, Tevya asks this
while watching Mosiah, "And that thing with the pillow.. it was
stupid. I really shouldn't have done
that--but I was curious. It doesn't
mean I want anything right now from it--or even like it. It's just.. curiosity. That's all it was."
"Oh."
Moe speaks simply when she finishes, as if suddenly being enlightened and not
really liking it. There is a touch of disappointment in that simple word, and a
moment of silence. And then he is shaking his head from side to side,
"Tevya? I don't regret a single thing with you. Ever. Never ever. I... Do
you have any idea whatsoever how lucky I know I am to even have you in my life.
I mean... I can't even put it into words. Regret? It never even occurred to
me." This healer certainly seems to be wearing his heart on his sleeve
tonite. "I love you more than anything and count myself lucky every single
day that..." A breath, and then something of a wry grin. "... that
you don't give me a punch in the nose for being such a blathering idiot."
"Then
just.. let things go where they will? I
mean, I've never doubted my feelings and so far, they've not let me down."
Still staying quite serious, Tevya offers a grin towards Mosiah as she says
this, "Whatever happens happens.
We can just go from there. But
something like this won't happen unless we're both ready for it. I'd not want
you to do something you wouldn't want to do, just like I know you wouldn't want
me to." At last she can stand and
not be worried about falling, and as she does, she crosses towards Moe,
"And I feel the same way. I love
you too and I'm grateful that you're with me.
I'm feeling just as lucky as you feel.
I can't count the number of times that I've asked myself
why.." Another thought that is put
on hold as Tevya shakes her head, only to grin as she glances up towards him,
"Like I'd punch you in the nose--it'd ruin those good looks of
yours." Aww.. isn't that so cute?
"So are we okay now.. you're not going to walk out of here and
faint on me or anything?"
Mosiah
needs this kind of female reassurance every once in awhile. Makes him... well,
makes him have a bit of a bolstered ego or something along those lines. "I
don't faint," he quips. Just don't talk to Tatia about that. *cough* He
offers her a wide smile, "And you are clearly the level-headed one of the
trio." Yes, trio. Including that mud-wallowing blue. After all, Moe still
has a sock puppet somewhere in his room. And that clearly isn't being
level-headed. He bends at the knees to get him more at a height to accomodate
wrapping his long arms around her waist. "Okay... show me some more of
this stuff you got, Fyria?"
"Alright..
you don't faint." Tevya responds with a grin, "You'd be surprised
though. Sometimes even I wonder about
my sanity." But that's another topic for another night. Tevya slips her hand towards one of Moes that
are hopefully free, as she pulls him further back in her weyr,
"Clothes. I got a great deal on
some of these from the Weaverhall. I
even have an order in for mini-riding leathers.." Yes, Tevya is obviously going all out on
this deal. "Thankfully some people
kicked in to get some of this stuff.
Else I'd probably be flat broke by now." And the tour continues as Tevya rifles through many of the items
stacked atop the table and benches in that portion of the weyr.
