Logfile from Sebastian.

Top of the Empire State Building

Glassdoors separate the inside portion of the observatory from the outside of the rooftop. If its warm enough and you venture outside, you are treated to a view of New York City unlike any other. Stretching heavenward is the huge antenna, spanning the length of 204 feet into the air with odd metallic protrusions sticking out from the sides.

On a clear day, the view is nothing less than incredible. From any side of the building, you can see all of NYC, the buildings appearing like toy structures from the perspective of a bird. Cars at like tiny dots moving along the streets below, and people are barely seen, looking like tiny black smudges against the grey strips of avenues.

Higuchi is here.

Express Elevator

So here they all are it seems, everyone being introduced to oni they have yet to meet. Having gotten a hold of Chiaki via phone and not dream, Kieran asked him to get in touch with the Nainokami oni he had yet to meet - Dosekiryuu. Once the top floor is reached, he glances around, immediately pulling out a cigarette and lighting it.

Given the tendency to be rather windy up here, Mal's decided to forgo some of his more flashy outfits and is actually showing up in something relatively conservative, even his hair tied back with leather thongs. He follows after Kieran, leaning up against the side of the observatory and looks out over the wide cityscape surrounding the deck area. "Another Nainokami oni? That's good for you guys at least. I'm starting to wonder if Amatsumika's got any tucked around the city at all or if they have to be scrounged for around the world." he notes somewhat distractedly, not worried about being overheard as the local weather is probably keeping most of the die hard tourists on the ground.

After far too many Fridays spent drinking at the bar with co-workers he couldn't have cared less about, it's a refreshing change for Jonathan to instead be attending a gathering of servants of the powerful nature spirits Chiaki referred to as gods.  A brief glance around brings a very faint smile to his face; for once, his height is not extraordinarily out of place.  "Greetings," is all he says as he approaches the group, long legs covering the distance across the rooftop quickly, looking around for the only one he already knows.

And bringing up the rear (hush you all) comes Sebastian. He steps out of the elevator as well, squinting just the slightest before peering over the area, "I'm sure they are around somewhere, Malachai. Maybe we should actually try to get you out of the building more often." Attention slips away though, moving over towards Jonathan as the man speaks, smile faint in greeting.

Chiaki doesn't need an excuse. He knew to be here, so he's here. The fact that they're at the top of the building doesn't seem to bother him at all, and he's not going to stand around waiting on everyone, either. Nope, he's sitting and watching them with something less than interest as they gather. He's not going to speak yet, he'd rather not be bothered to do so.

"It was just Toshie and I for a long while, Malachai. Be patient. Things are obviously coming together for the oni at last," replies Kieran, turning brief to give Mitama and reassuring smile before his attention is taken by Jonathan and his greeting. "Hello. You must be the one Chiaki mentioned to me. I'm Kieran. Nice to meet you." Chiaki is then spotted as well and Higuchi waves them all toward that other oni. "Bastian, this is the one I mentioned to you. The one that walk through dreams. Another of Nainokami's."

"I've been around longer than that though..." the sorcerer grumbles softly to the two oni beside him, but shakes off his irritation as he smiles. Inclining his head towards Jonathan, not masking his scrutiny of the newly met oni, he introduces himself as well. "I'm Malachai, jolly good to meet you. Been around long?" He's curious as usual, even as he looks away to grin over at Chiaki. "And good to see you again too. Though I half expected a 'visit' from you before now, but no matter."

"It is good to see you again, Dreamwalker," Jonathan states in his deep, gravelly voice, nodding towards Chiaki.  The rest he favors with an appraising stare and a grunt of acknowledgement.  "Call me Jonathan.  Or Jon.  I have been in this city for about a year."  Being called Dosekiryuu just still doesn't seem normal.  "You are another follower of Nainokami, correct?"  This is asked of Kieran, before he glances at the other new faces.  "And what spirits do you follow?"  While not completely silently, neither does he believe in wasting words.

Sebastian follows after Kieran, gaze slipping on and over to Chiaki as the quickly becoming familiar name is now given a face to go with it. His lips draw into a rather thin line while examining the other man, and then finally he draws his chin down a little with greeting, "Nice to meet you finally. I've heard a few things, and it is welcome to finally meet you face to face." At Jonathan's words though, his attention inevitably slips back to the other man, smile a touch lupine, "Sebastian Davis, one of Homasubi's."

Chiaki stands, walking toward the others without returning a greeting until he reaches them.  "When the time comes, Malachai, and only then."  Jonathan is given a near smile before he regards the others. "Nice to meet you," is said in general to those he is just meeting.  "I take it that we're all familiar enough with eachother now?"  It's not an unfriendly question, coming as it does in a bland tone and to the group all at once.

Kieran nods back to Jonathan, "Yes, I'm a follower of Nainokami as well." He's not going to question the use of the word 'spirits'. One look at Jonathan gives away his Native American heritage. To each his own then. "I've heard rumors that you are the one responsible for the bridge, Jon. That right? If so, nice work. You've made us envious." The fire oni sweeps a hand to indicate both Malachai and Sebastian. "Chiaki, you're actually looking a bit better. Been getting out more with Meiyou?"

Malachai looks rather bemused for a moment. "Spirit? Interesting way to describe the Yin gods." Where Kieran doesn't tread, he doesn't seem to have a care in pushing matters. "I belong to Amatsumika. You took the bridge down? Lucky you, the traffic patterns uptown have been awkward for days now." Luckily he never bothers with driving. "Hmm, I wonder what people would do if the Holland Tunnel flooded. They could refilm 'Daylight' in real time." Glancing at the dreamwalker he nods slowly, "I suppose it would be useless trying to pump you for information then." He's kidding, really.

Sebastian seems to perk a little at Kieran's words, gaze slipping back over to rest upon Jonathan at mention of the bridge once again. "Oh, this was the one?" He studies the other man for a moment longer, gaze blank, even if there is a touch of curious appreciation lurking in his eyes, "Pardon my question, but... you know, from a business perspective, how did you accomplish that... and even, why?" Because he really enjoys those little details.

"As familiar as we need to be," Jonathan replies to the Dreamwalker.  "This is not a social club, after all."  He then nods towards Kieran, "Chiaki told me that he had seen the bridge fall in his dreams; I made it so.  No need to be envious.  I merely followed Nainokami's guiding hand.  Perhaps next time it is you she will choose to carry out such a task."  He took no pleasure in the destruction other than the satisfaction of a job well done.  At the mention of Meiyou, one of the man's brows rises.  "She is the one you wish to remain unharmed," he states to Chiaki, as if to clarify the point.  Only then does he address Sebastian's concerns.  "As the news suggests, a minor earthquake caused the collapse, Mr. Davis.  Perhaps the earth beneath the bridge was unstable.  As for why...  Why do storms occur?  Why do mountains erupt?  The earth was unhappy, and showed her displeasure.  She just had a little assistance."

Chiaki blinks blandly at Malachai.  "It wouldn't be the smartest of ideas, no."  But it's said in a manner that could be disinterest or joke.  "The bridge was going to fall, it fell."  Kieran's question is given a nod, a half smile tugging at his mouth as well.  "Hai, we have. I have every suspicion that my return to the waking world will be easier as time goes on, though I won't be spending as much time awake as I suppose some of you do. ... You're right, Jon, this is not a social club, we're here for a reason, and she is. The reason 'why' the bridge fell isn't relevant at this time, the bridge no longer exists. It was what Jon's future held, and he met that future."

Kieran nods again to Jon, quite pleased with his answer. "I have little doubt that our goddess will favor me with whatever tasks she desires to be completed. Perhaps she will wish for us to work together at some point." The other Nainokami oni truly is not bothered by what could be considered lack of friendly manner in both Jonathan and Chiaki. Being onisenshi of the Yin god who considers humanity of little importance, their mannerisms are hardly a surprise. It would be rather odd to find a social butterfly who /liked/ the world as it was among Nainokami's own.

Malachai rather views the world in a different sort of way, viewing humanity with distaste in general, but interacting with their lives from a rather distant point but fiddling with their lives none the less. Whether it be the impact of his art or the subtle manipulations of his distributed spells, in the end it all ends the same way, the corruption of mind and soul. The artist shrugs slightly, not taking offense though keeping to the same level of distance as the others. "Not a social club, but I think that cooperation between our various factions would be more advantageous to us all than staying separate from each other."

Sebastian responds to Jonathan's words with a brief nod of understanding, echoing softly and with a touch of something extra, "Perhaps." Further explanation by the man garners the faint hint of a grin, but whether it is in amusement or simply politeness remains to be defined. "Obviously, some of you have not been known to the rest of us, or made yourself known, during some of what has been happening in the past few months, as Malachai and myself have been. Sheer numbers has dictated the fact that we do need to work together, understand the means to get to whatever goals. Cooperation and the sharing of information has proven necessary, vitally necessary."

"It would please me to work alongside you, Kieran, if our patroness wishes it.  I am certain Chiaki will inform us if he has any such dreams and guide us to where we need to be and what we need to do.  If it's not too rude, what gift have you been granted?"  See, Jonathan is capable of lengthier conversation if he feels it's necessary.  "I am willing to work with any of you, regardless of which spirits we serve, if it will lead us further along the path towards our goal.  I had hoped to meet all of you sooner, but it was not until just recently that Chiaki met with me and pointed me in the right direction."

"Cooperation doesn't require socialization," is Chiaki's response as he turns to nod at Kieran. "You'll have your share of tasks quite shortly, actually. There will be a series of fires throughout the city in well known buildings. Sadly, we may not be able to meet in this location next time."  His gaze takes each one of them in at once, but it remains dispassionate.  "Work together or alone, the results are the same, if less interesting or complex. I'll inform you of my dreams as they come, or in person if that's your preference. Seeing is always more effective."

"I'm known by the goddess as Higuchi, the origin of fire, Jon. I also have the ability to heal more quickly than others from serious wounds, which has always been handy considering I am not immune to fire." Kieran has never been bothered by that fact either. He rather likes the regenerative powers of his body. "I also agree that we're far stronger working together than separately. Cooperation is likely the key to achieving the goals each of our gods or spirits has set forth for us. Chiaki, I trust you, so please inform me whichever way is easiest for you."

"Ah, yes..fire." Malachai notes blandly this time to the revelation of what's to come, his eyes flicking over towards Higuchi. "That more or less falls along with ideas we'd been contemplating anyway, so it at least nominally appears that our endeavors will fall through." His own ideas are less spectacular visually, but some of the side effects will undoubtedly make themselves known really soon. Nodding to Jon's remark about not meeting sooner, he sighs quietly. "A little contradictory there, without a little socialization it would have been rather difficult to have met up at all. Unless of course we end up depending on Chiaki for it all. It doesn't matter I suppose, what will happen will happen apparently as we're all on the same wavelength."

Sebastian quietly watches the new pair of Nainokami for a moment, listening quietly to what they have to say for the moment before his smile is turning wry. He draws a step back to stand a little closer to Malachai, but his gaze flickers to the others, "I'm not one to exactly place all of my faith in fate... and prophecy, no offense. But, it was through our organization, before, that we were able to become more of a force to be reckoned with. But, yes... with more here, and with the same relative goals in mind, actions should be more effective."

Jonathan's amber eyes focus on Malachai for a moment.  "If we should all become friends, that might make our tasks easier, but it is hardly necessary.  And if I can be blunt, I don't know if serving the same spirits is enough to put us in a position to socialize.  We live in different worlds, or so I'd guess from appearances."  He has been so often excluded on account of his heritage or looks that he's come to expect it.  "If I'm wrong, wonferful.  But either way, personal feelings won't hamper my desire to follow our path to its conclusion.  And whether or not you choose to follow Chiaki's visions matter little, Sebastian.  He sees what will be; whether you heed his words or not will likely only affect how quickly his visions come to pass."

Chiaki nods to Malachai.  "You know what you must do, ne? What your plans are? I suggest that you keep that in mind and go through with it. In the next few days and weeks, this city will be in chaos."  Sebastian, too, gets his attention, but he seems unbothered by the lack of complete faith.  "I don't require your absolute trust and I take no offense, however I suggest that you let your own destructive tendencies to have free reign very soon."  Jon, at least, is given a near smile.  "Buildings are what needs to fall next."  Kieran receives a nod as well.  "You I wish to have a private meeting with. Dreams will be fine, in person will suffice. Once we've spoken then I will speak with Malachai, because I have belated information for him."

"Alright Chiaki. I'm sure you know where to find me. Whether in dreams or in person. Either meeting place is fine with me," replies Kieran before he turns to glance at Malachai and Sebastian. "He is to be trusted, but I wouldn't expect either of you to take his word without consideration. It's perhaps easier for me to trust him because he is one of my goddess' onisenshi, but I hope that you both will either listen to him or, in Malachai's case, continue to listen. It is to our advantage to have someone within our ranks who can see visions."

Malachai places a hand lightly on Sebastian's shoulder, a squeeze of reassurance given before he speaks. "I don't take words at face value either, but it does not hurt to take heed when warnings are given. I don't entirely fall for fate, but I believe in making it happen. At least then it is in our control." Like his little foray into the world of drugs. "Different worlds or not, in the end we'll all be in the same one. I think it would be better to settle any rough edges between us first and make the transition smoother later." he remarks to Jonathan in an amiable enough manner before nodding again at Chiaki. "Belated information? Well if it's late news, a little more time won't matter much. I'll await your next visit none the less."

Sebastian was never one to trust in such 'fate' so easily. But he does not his head to Chiaki in acceptance of the man's words, lowering his chin with something of a respectful angle. "I'll remember that." He flickers a glance to Malachai though as that man's words, his own thoughts being echoed there as well. So, he'll simply remain silent for the time being.

Chiaki only nods at the words as he begins to walk away without explanation.  "I believe that I said that I care very little for what you trust, believe in, or have faith in, ne? Please feel no need to explain your personal views. I'll be in touch in various ways with information which you can either believe, disbelieve, or take as the words of a madman."

"I again do not wish to be rude, but I'd like to get to know Kieran a bit better since we will likely be working closely together in the near future.  If no one will be offendedby our absence, perhaps you'd be willing to join me for a drink?  We can discuss how best your abilities and mine might be joined together."  The tall Native American nods to Sebastian and Malachai.  "I look forward to more dealings with both of you.  And Chiaki, I am certain I shall see you soon, if only in my mind's eye."  At Kieran's assenting nod, Jonathan pauses long enough for the other oni to bid the gentlemen farewell, then heads back towards the elevator.

Malachai waves as the pair of Nainokami's own walk off before glancing over the edge of the observatory rail. "Well that was a short meeting, but I suppose informative enough." He glances at Sebastian and grins. "It did get me out of the building though, didn't it? I think now that we are out, maybe we should utilize this opportunity to maybe take a look to see if my little project has started to work yet?" Looking back down at the great distance to the ground though, he chuckles. "Not that we'll see much from up here however." Chiaki is regarded since the man hasn't quite wandered off yet. "You're welcome to join us, if it interests you at all."

Sebastian looks after the others of Nainokami, simply watching Kieran leave with the other man before looking back towards Malachai as the other speaks. Opposite arm comes around so that his hand can pat the one Malachai had put on his shoulder, "Down to street-level, Malachai? I'm sure we could do that." Ooooh. Slumming. He flickers a glance after Chiaki though, lupine smile showing once again.

Chiaki stops, only tilting his head enough so that a portion of his profile can be seen, not bothering to even open his eyes.  "You will find that very little interests me about this city, or its populace," he answers, then finally turns a bland gaze toward the pair.  "I believe you'll find what you're looking for, most interesting use of power. My compliments."

Malachai is getting used to this detached disinterest in everything from those of Nainokami and he shrugs after a brief nod back in Chiaki's direction. "It's an extension of my artistic nature, or perhaps just an outlet. It will add to the confusion and chaos of the coming days, that's my part in this after all." No one's ever faulted Mitama on that, not even in the days of the one miko. He looks back at Sebastian and nods with that gleam of anticipation in his eyes. "I think the view will definitely be better down there. See if we can witness some of it at work or not."

Sebastian will try not to allow his apprehension as to the 'calls' this other oni keeps making, and it is simply because he is so used to showing nothing that he manages to retain that unimpressed facade. He watches Chiaki for a moment before turning his attention back to Malachai. Admiring a little drug chaos. Voyeurs. His smile is faint as it shows.

Chiaki only nods at Malachai's words before walking away, making his way down from the top of the building by more normal means. His power is in sleep and dreams, not bending the fabric of space to get somewhere fast.

Malachai watches the last of the Nainokami's walk off too and shakes his head a bit. "They are such an odd lot, but at least Kieran and Toshie are... warm." Well Jonathan wasn't all that bad, but Mal does admit to himself that Chiaki's coolness does give him the creeps. No wonder he and the fire oni spent so much time trying to rattle Bastian into more responsiveness. "I don't think we'll see too much in this particular district though, did you feel up to a waltz down the dockside, Bastian? We're going to stand out a little as usual, but I think if my plan works, the crazed druggies will be drawing most of the attention anyway."

Sebastian shrugs his shoulders after Chiaki, at least giving that oni's lack of response something from him. He turns to face Malachai, smile soft, "Kieran is more then warm." See, the oni can even tease as well. They all did such a good job on him. They should be rewarded... later. "Well, especially not up here... the docks? I haven't been there in ages. Maybe we should take a moment to reminisce." So sarcastic. Lexie drug them down there far too much. "I can take us down there."

Malachai casually hooks an arm with Sebastian as he returns that smile, a knowing look in his own green eyes in response to that statement. "Yes, he's hot." the man says with a laugh, meaning more than one thing in that. "It has been a while since we last all prowled down there. I think it could be quite invigorating just to walk through." After all, they /look/ like rich, easy marks. Though any mugger or gang member taking offence to their presence or the way they're touching will find it a shockingly bad idea to attack these two. "Take us there then, Bastian."

Sebastian actually joins in with Malachai's laugh, amusement showing rather clearly. "Sounds delightful. Maybe there will be plenty of entertainment down in that area." A stroll along the docks, walking arm and arm, admiring the dums and druggies. Isn't that the dream of any oni? So much fun. It really is the simple things in life. Sebastian nods his head before drawing Malachai away.

You open a portal to The East River Docks.

The East River Docks

The farther east you go in this part of New York City, the darker it seems to get. Shadows cast by the Brooklyn Bridge and the raised parkway, the F.D.R. Drive, seem to keep this area in constant shade and perpetual semi-darkness. The air is somewhat cooler here as well, nearer to the waterfront. Apart from the South Street Seaport, which is located slightly north of this location, the area is mostly deserted by the tourist trade. Only hardened New Yorkers come here - the ones that can fend for themselves.

Dirt and grime are the keywords as they blanket every dark corner. The smell of fish permeates the air as a number of old werehouses, each probably garnering at least ten different building code violations, line the shores of the river. With so many places to hide and lurk, the dredges of New York consider this a haven.

Obvious exits:

Bowery St. (WE)   The Mended Drum   Abandoned Warehouse

There is an open portal to Top of the Empire State Building.

The distortion ceases abruptly as you step out of the portal.

Mitama comes out of the portal.

You have closed the portal.

Malachai emerges through the portal with Sebastian, looking around at the docks with only the slightest wrinkle of his nose in disgust at the state of the streets and the people that resident in this part of the city. "Ah, quaint as ever." he says with a little snicker, though he scans the opening of the alleyway with a bit of wariness. Poking a head out, he notes the shadows and signs of people nearby. It's a little busier than usual, a good sign in his eyes as there seems to be more than one 'deal' going down on the corners. "Auspicious, very auspicious."

Sebastian hesitates as well, his own expression in near mimicry of Malachai's at the state of their surroundings. Slumming at its finest, obviously. He squints slightly, peering down the street before looking at the man at his side. Not being all that knowledgeable about drug trade or how busy an area like this is supposed to be, he is looking to the other for confirmation of any early success to his work. "It would stand to reason that the local authorities would notice this rise in activity as well -but probably just attribute it, initially, to the stigma attached to today's date." Friday the 13th.

Malachai nods in agreement, actually looking just a little smug as he watches a few people moving somewhat erratically down the sidewalk across the street. "The timing couldn't have been better, it gives the spells a little more time to work and a little less suspicion that something might be up until it's too late to slow it down." By Monday, there should be a very notable increase in drug related incidents all over the city. "Look there." The sorcerer points discretely at a small crowd moving in and out of an alley across the way, hidden mostly out of sight by crates and garbage bags waiting for pickup. "You'd never see that many people trying to get a fix, too noticable. They can't help themselves however. The cartels are probably wondering how fast they can speed up production too." The DEA is probably going to have a field day soon.

Sebastian's gaze travels down Malachai's arm to the pointing finger and beyond to the group of people. "The only other ideal time, I suppose, would have been during a full moon." All the crazies certainly come out then. But Friday the 13th is just as perfect. "Things will get delightfully messy, won't they. Robberies, muggings... all to pay for the newly created habits. Yes, those cartels will be making a very pretty penny over all of this."

Malachai chuckles lowly. "Yes, it's not even the drugs themselves causing the problems, but all the related problems. Not to mention those that wander around on a high, getting into trouble, accidents, walking off of buildings, the possibilities are endless. My spell will wear off eventually, a few days, but the new addictions... the best part is that I don't even need to sustain the spells at all." Yes, Mitama is quite pleased with himself, leaning back a little to rest against Sebastian, turning his head to beam up at the taller oni. "Not as spectacular as the sort of damage you can do, my dear, but the impact is as far reaching it looks like."

Sebastian nods his head in understanding at Malachai's words. "And with that, the seishi, or anyone else, will be hard pressed to be able to link this new explosion of depravity and corruption back to the source as the populace feeds of of its self. Yes, very clever." But he won't pat Malachai's head like the good oni he is. As the other leans against him, Sebastian curls his arms about the man. "Not all of us can be as subtle as you, no."

"Just a difference of method." Malachai all but purrs. "Yours has a rather invigorating excitement to it though, more of a adrenaline rush." Pretty lights! Er.. Nestled against Ichijin, Mitama is indeed very pleased with himself, such a smug bastard he can be. "I wonder if any seishi'll fall into the trap as well. It would be fantastic but I think they'd all be just a little too strong willed for that, what a pity. This sort of thing is nice and certainly pleases my god, but I think I've just a little craving for a bit of excitement. Wonder what would happen if we took just a little walk together down that way?" He points to the heart of the district, a very seedy place indeed. "I could use..a resupply for future projects." That'll require fresh blood and fresh spirits.

Sebastian tightens his hold around Malachai briefly, chuckling softly, "It is arousing, yes." Such a raw use of chi to blast things to oblivion. Oh yeah. Very nice. "It helps feed my destructive need quite easily." As for the seishi, he'll simply shrug his shoulders. "There are a few weak-willed ones out there, maybe one or two will happen by a flyer and get sucked it. Might be amusing for a change." He nods his head though at the suggestion, "A stroll might be nice, yes."

Malachai's eyes have a tendency to go half-lidded whenever naughty thoughts float through his head, which is a rather common occurrence actually. He doesn't always come out and say so, but it's not hard to tell when those moments go by, especially in reaction to certain words, touches, or looks from his lovers. "A little stroll, won't take long, not with bait like us." The violent ones always make better ghosts anyway, to feed to his wards. This isn't the Village either, where it's not uncommon to see two men walking together so closely, blatantly. Passions run hot, particularly when fueled with a little extra narcotics. It shouldn't be long before indeed, some hothead with more than his fair share of testosterone tries to push the two oni around. Pity the fool.

With Malachai situated the way his is, before Sebastian, it makes it so very convenient for the man to bend a little at the knee, incline his chin some, and then suckle for a moment upon the other's earlobe. So easy. "I've never been bait before. So many new things to try." Interested in this though, he draws away from the artist to lead him out of their dark little spot and more into the open.

The tremor that runs through Malachai's body in response to that touch is unmistakable, pressed up as he is against Sebastian. It takes a moment before the artist can kick his brain back into gear with a clearing of his throat, "..righto.. what were we, oh yes. Bait." That flush across his cheeks isn't embaressment, just a heady rush. Yeah. "This way then." Not more than a few minutes later, a block or so down the street, a gruff and hostile voice can be heard, yelling rather hateful things about the two men moving so close together. "Bring it on!" Malachai laughs at the offender, looking relaxed though he's braced for the attack that he knows is coming. Can you say, big dock worker with a pipe?

Sebastian can definitely get used to provoking reactions with Malachai like that. Oh yes. So very, very nice. He chuckles though as he is led onwards, careful to keep himself very close to the other oni. You know, for appearance, or something. The man blinks at what the dockworker has to say, leaning down to murmur to Malachai, "Quite close-minded, that one." Obviously threatened. How he enjoys watching the artist work, and will enjoy watching this as well.

Malachai chuckles with derision a the dockworker's crudity. "Yes, isn't he? A pity he'll not benefit from this lesson he's about to learn." It's not something anyone would come across often, but the lesson is 'Do Not Pick On Powerful Sorcerers'. Particularly one that knows how to fight. Stepping forward and making a bit of room between himself and Sebastian, the oni all but invites an attack. Ducking the swing of the pipe, steps aside and brings out a sharp dagger. Don't ask from where, it's not hard when you can summon items out of one's wards. A flicker and the blade slices through the jugular vein even as Malachai uses his other hand to bring forth an ofuda. A small portal opens beneath his assailant's feet and the dockworker drops out of sight with a dying gurgle. "No finesse in that one. Not that I expected much." Malachai says with great calm as if he did this sort of thing all the time. Hmmm..maybe he does.

Sebastian watches Malachai work, head tilting a little to the side much as a canine's would at the sight. His eyes flash open though as the lithe artists brings for a dagger and uses it rather easily upon the other man. His lips part just the slightest as the dying man next disappears. Ever so slowly, Sebastian walks closer to Malachai, hands drawing together to clap with slow exaggeration. "You made that look quite easy."

"Practice, my dear Bastian. Practice. It was a necessary task that I've had to do now and again." He'd managed to avoid it for a while since disappearances always made for unnecessary questions from the local authorities. Reese had been his next source, but that is now unavailable. "I'll drain him in my private studio. Then dump the body somewhere far away." Like... Detroit. "With all these crazed individual's around, it should make this easier, but I think this'll do for tonight. Make up for all the energies I spent setting up this project." Turning back towards Ichijin he grins ferally. "Time to go home?"

Sebastian chuckles at the mention of practice. "I say the very same thing when I go to level a tenement in the projects," Sebastian murmurs rather darkly.
