Skyskimmer's Office...

J'avia
Her head is a mass of soft copper curls, spilling over her shoulders and down her back into a loose braid. Her smile is warm and welcoming, her amber eyes inviting converstaion. She's quite petit, her frame non-imposing, and her height topping out at 5'5. But, despite her first impression of timid and small, a silent fire burns the amber embers of her eyes and many years of dragon riding courses through well toned muscles. She has a presence that surrounds her, a confidence in everything she does, and still that mischivous twinkle hiding behind it all.
Deep, shining hues of brassy browns and bronzes crease their way down the wherhide riding jacket, ending at midthigh. Soft undercolorings of light tan sienna play just beneath the swirl of colors, making the material seem to move of its own accord. Soft fur lines the jacket, peeking out at the cuffs and hemlines, a much needed protection from the cold. A wide belt circles her waist, shifting in color from antique to copper in smooth fluid motion; small metal loops dot the belt, ready for straps or gear. Riding pants fit her snugly, while her gloves tightly follow the gentle curve of her hand, but still allow the free range of movement. Matching boots round out the ensemble, lacing up the sides to her knees. Proudly affixed to J'avia's knot is Skyskimmer Badge, J'avia.
On her shoulder is a knot of two cords, black and white in a double loop, with a single gold tassle hanging in the center to denote her as a Wingleader. Mingled into all of that are thin strands of mahogany brown, one of the many colors on the hide of Pralanth. And pined with pride at the top of her knot is a roundel badge of purple and white, the colors of HealerHall.
She is awake, but has been staring off into space for 6 minutes.

J'avia is sitting at her desk and looking over a few things when the ex-weyrlin enters. She hears the foot falls and looks up, a smile creeping to her lips with a feline preditory ease, "Hello Sk'lar."

Sk'lar crosses into the office, one hand rubbing casually at the back of his neck. "Good day, J'avia... You requested me?" He moves forward to stand behind one of the pair of chairs before the desk. Forearm drops onto the back as he leans forward, allowing the chair to support a great deal of his weight.

J'avia nods, "Mmm, yes." she gives the much younger man a good looking over, her attitude turning to something thats usually only seen when Pralanth takes to the chase, that kitten seeking her prey, "We have a little... business to take care of, and I've got some free time today. Are you busy?" petit Wingleader stands from her desk and sits delicately on the ende of her desk, still on her side, but playing a little coy.

"Yes, we do and No, I don't." Sky's time is relatively free until he is pressed into a wing. Soo.... "And I suppose that you had something specific in mind to make me busy?"

J'avia chuckles with an ominous air, "Oh yes, I have something in mind to keep you /very/ busy." her smile turns to something mischivous, "But perhaps no what your expecting." but is she going to tell?

Sk'lar shifts so that both arms rest upon the back of the chair, leaning forward slightly. A wry grin causes the corner of one of his lips to quirk up, deepening his solitary dimple. "I've got a wild imagination, but as for expecting..." Shoulders shrug slightly. "So, J'avia, what can I do for you?"

J'avia smiles so that she shows her teath, not quite a snarl, but something close, "Well..." she reaches to the side of her desk and pulls open a drawer, "I have this little thing here.. I think it may help us in our little adventure." she coyishly flutters her eyes over to meet the young riders gaze, not yet pulling out this 'toy'.

Sk'lar's gaze is seemingly possessed by the brownrider. After meeting her eyes, his own follow the line of her neck, chest, and on down her arm to her hidden hand. "Little?" With dark eyebrows striving for his hairline, his lips curl to the side, "How so?"

J'avia giggles in a girlish way, making her years seem to fade as amber eyes sparkle with mischieff, "Oh... just this." she pulls the toy from her drawer and tosses at the young rider, the 'toy' actually a knot, and not just a Wingriders knot, but a Wingsecond. "What do you say Bronzerider? Care for a little roleplaying?" she winks and slips off the top of her desk, eyes twinkling to see just how he will react to this.

Sk'lar's gaze travels right on back the way it came, amused eyes shining, "You want me to..." A long, low whistle as he straightens from his lounging position. He voice returns, "You want me to play your wingsecond?" Faranth help him. "My, what the others are missing out on." Head turns back to her, hand extending. "You are really going to enjoy this now, aren't you?"

J'avia takes the hand, her elfish hand folding easilly into his, "Well, I do want you to play my Wingsecond, but on a perminant basis." she walks around the desk, keeping the contact, and then easilly slips her small form right up to the chest of her new partner in crime, "If you'll accept and join Skyskimmer?" she blinks innocently up at him.

Sk'lar's eyebrows finally make it to his hairline at her words. "Ohhhhhh." Nobody ever said he was slow, his other hand comes around to wrap about hers. Open mouth forms into a wolfish smile, teeth flashing, "You are sooooo good at this." A deep breath that draws in her scent, "Wingsecond of Skyskimmer. What are the terms of my accepting?"

J'avia giggles, "Well, there is a lot of hard work and decision making, but yyou've prooven yourself very well as a Weyrling, and Toria and I both agree that its appropriate for you to be promoted to Wingsecond just out of Weyrlinghood." but is she acting? Or is she serious?

Sk'lar rather imagined his time in weyrlinghood was considered a blunder to most of the powers that be. So, this earns quite the curious grin as his chin drops. "I'm flattered. And honored. And would be greatly pleased to be the Wingsecond of Skyskimmer on a permanent basis." He tilts his head to the side, gaze inquisitive, "Especially under a wingleader such as yourself."

J'avia smiles with a bit of her usual self, though shes still feeling playful, and stands up on her tiptoes so that she can plant a little kiss on her new Wingseconds cheek, pulling back to smile, "The honor is all mine." she winks and then breaks the embrace, giving the hand a squeeze before she moves over to a seat and snags a mug of klah that hab been waiting for her, "So now I get to have you as my slave for... a very long time." amber embers twinkle again and she sips her klah, "I know this may be a bit of a shock, and more responcibility than you expected, so sit, and chat with me. What do you think a wingsecond does?"

Sk'lar grins once more, smile canting to the side with amusement. "Slave, such an apt term." He clucks his tongue before speaking, "Wingseconds back up their wingleader, they are the link between the wing's leader and the other wing members. Relay orders, when the wing is split for sweepriding, the wingsecond will lead his own wingriders. And best of all... wingseconds are often saddled with the more mundane busywork that the wingleader would really not do. Is that about right?"

J'avia beams, "See, I knew you'd make a good second." she beams, "Though I am sorry to dissapoint on... other issues." and again her eyes travel the length of the new Wingsecond, giving a little sigh of regret. She sips her klah again and lounges back on her seat, "I think I'll let you get used to the idea for a few days, and let the wing get used to it as well. Im sure some will grumble. But they will see what the rest of us see in you and it will all work out." she smiles in her most charming way, "So enjoy your new kno for a little while, before it beomes a weight on your shoulder." she winks.

Sk'lar rocks back and forth upon his boots, a dramatic sigh causing his shoulder to droop, "It really is a pity. But I suppose this knot, and the fact that I will be spending so much time with you, will somehow fill my loss of..." Well, you know. "Thank you."

J'avia finishes off her klah and sets it aside, "I've some business to sttend at Igen, would you like to come with?"

Sk'lar tucks the knot into the pocket of his trous, to be placed properly on at a later time. "I'd be happy to, J'avia."

J'avia grins, "Good, lets go then." and out she goes.

J'avia strides toward Forked Hallway.

J'avia grabs onto the sturdy leather straps and pulls herself up to sit comfortably astride Pralanth.

Sk'lar climbs onto Kahlendroth's forelimb only to have the bronze launch him into the air to land squarely bestride the bronze's neck.

Pristinely perched atop Pralanth, J'avia gets all buckled up and then looks back to the bronzen pair, givign the get ready signal,a nd then the fist pump that means take to the skys.

Pralanth launches powerfully into the air!

(Kahlendroth) [-] Pralanth thunders only a little, the sent of a fresh rain thats made things clean and new trailing his thoughts, << Do you know the central bowl of Igen? >>

(Kahlendroth) Pralanth sees: Kahlendroth returns with the low swell of a tide << I know of the northeastern area of that Weyr >>

From Northern Curve of the Bowl, Saoirth prowls, lengthy tail trailing her, toward Weyr Tunnel.
Pralanth lids his eyes in concentration before he flashes into the cold of ::between::

(Kahlendroth) You drop into the very depths of ::between:: with a thud more felt than heard.

Sky Above Weyr Lake
Loquacious waters mirror a kaleidoscopic panorama from the desert's oasis below; temperate currents circulate betwixt the fervent haze of the weyr, while dragons and humans alike bask besides the ranging shoreline. Neighboring the lake's shore, both the distinctive scent of herdbeast and the nearby weyrling practices come to both sight and to smell, though somewhat - and sometimes - overridden by the tranquil scenery below.
Type 'ledges' to see a list of connected weyrs.
It is a clear, crisp evening It is a fall evening.

From Weyr Lake Shore, Belatedly, Ri remembers her manners and introduices herself to the other greenrider. "I apologize, I am Ri, rider to green Liuth of Telgar Weyr." And no 'ling title anymore! And back again to N'vis.. "Oh? what /would/ make a challenge worthwhile to one such as yourself?" Chuckling at Sita's quick protest, and Halis' offer.

From Sky Above Center Bowl, Pralanth has arrived. Pralanth has arrived.
Pralanth glides with the beat and thrum of dragonic magesty, honey glistend wings taking him toward Weyr Lake Shore.

Weyr Lake Shore
Sand stretches from bowl's floor to water smoothly, leaving a mere lapping of slight waves to slap against the shoreline. The sand is left less packed here than it is in the bowl, the soft sand underfoot opening onto the Weyr's oasis. Mirror-like water can reflect merciless sun into the eyes of the unwary, but the bold colors of a sunset casting colors against the lake makes this a much-favored spot. Far to the northwest, the hurry of the living cavern area is left behind and the warmth that penetrates through a weary body on the unshaded shore rivals that of the hatching grounds to the northeast.
Perched somewhere up high, you see Minila. Ri, N'vis, Halis, and Sita are here.
The following dragons are here: Vhenoth, Tropoth, Iyrith, Jazyth, Liuth, Zheryth, Olexath, Halaith, and Pralanth

Pralanth lifts his forleg so that J'avia may dismount, carefully helping her to the ground.

Sk'lar slides from Kahlendroth's tilted shoulder, bounces over the bulge of the dragon's foreleg, and then lands upon the ground with a *thump*.

Liuth spies Kahlendroth and steps ever so minutely closer to Zheryth, much prefering that bronze's company to the newly arrived.

Olexath is still swimming, though Pralanth and Kahlendroth get a welcoming warble before the blue dives under, tail flicking to splash some weyrbrats.

N'vis nudges an elbow at Sita, "Of course not, my dear." To Halis, he shrugs, "Mmm... no, that's much to simple, Halis. I have but to say, morning sweeps for you, and you would do it. Because that is your duty. Although.." he pausing, a glance slipping to her knot, "You're lucky you're an AWLM. I can't take up quite as much of our time as I would like."

Ri sighs.. having thought getting away from Telgar would mean getting away. not that it would follow her here. But.. with a smile.. "Hello J'avia!" A brief nod to Sk'lar as well. "That bronze rider is the afrementioned Sk'lar, N'vis... and the brownrider is J'avia, one of the other darts game winners." Although having won Sk', it's hard to explain the concept of 'winning.'

Zheryth is curled up, snoozing away. He's oblivious to all.

Halis raises a brow slightly, "First duty is to my wing and you know it N'vis. AWLM or not." So nenner? Sensing that she'll get no dart game with her bargins she shrugs and turns to go swim with Olexath, clothes left in a pile on the beach away from the water. Javi and Sky get a smile and a wave before the sparklie one goes under.

Sita smiles, "Well met, Ri." She volunteers for morning sweeps and night sweeps and AWLM duties. All work and no play. However newcomers snag her attention and she offers an appropriately perfect, "Good evening, I'm Sita, rider of green Halaith," to the brown and bronzerider.

J'avia dismounts from ehr lifemate and smiles to those gathered, "Hello all." she nods to Sita and to N'vis, grinning at Ri's introdutcion to the bronzerider and then saying much the same to Sita, "Well met greenrider, Im J'avia, rider to Pralanth over there." but her eyes again travel to Ri, the young telgari Weyrling, "Enjoying the hot igen weather Ri?" her tone teasing as she seems to

N'vis regards the young bronzerider for a moment, and then nods in greeting. To J'avia as well, he tips his head, "Welcome to Igen." A thoughtful glance follows Halis' progression towards the lake, and then a smile, "Aye, Z... " he comments to more to himself, "But she's a good wingrider.

Sk'lar isn't far behind J'avia. So, he follows in her wake with a swing to his step that seems to be plaguing him quite a bit lately -almost a saunter, it is. Eyes flicker to Ri, grin growing, "Good day, Ri..." A nod to the rest and a wave to the submerged Halis? He glances back to his clutchmate, "Thanks to the little... wager I participated in the other day, I belong to her now." Her being J'avia. *grin*

Weed has arrived.
Weed pops in from ::between::

Ri says, "I must admit it is nice to get warm whenver I chose, J'via. And Liuth seems to find it quite a bonus as well." Green lifts her delicate head and nods, then settles back in the still warm sands of the shore. "And how is that working out for you, J'avia?"

J'avia passes a wry little grin back to Sk'lar and twinkles at him, "Oh, its working very well, very well indeed." her gaze flickering back to Ri with a wide smile, "Better than he expected I think." her tone giving an edge to it, whispering of things unsaid, but hinted at. "But yes, it is rather nice to be able to get away when ever time permits. I like southern a lot too, its /always/ warm there. And Pralanth adores their beaches." the brown giving a rumble to show that he does indeed.

Sita sort of lapses back into her daze, mentally caculating the hours of chat time she has before it's off to sweeps, teaching, grabbing a quick bite and then back to sweeps again. She mutters softly to herself her schedule of things to do. Blinking, she smiles at the two newcomcers, as it's obvious that she's not been paying attention.

N'vis slips his hands back into his pockets and peers over at Sita. He chuckles, amused by the greenrider's distracted demeanor, "You okay, Sita? Is there something you need to get back to?"

Halis appears to daze out a bit with all the excitement.

Sk'lar is looking rather pleased with himself, and the situation. Hands clasp at the small of his back and he turns eyes just brimming with amusement onto J'avia, "So much better." Gaze trickles back to Ri, "Kahlen and I plan on scouting a few of the coves down there, in Southern. See if we can pick out a few secluded areas. He likes the water." Sky likes other things.

Sita blinks and chuckles, "Oh yes. Just figuring out what tomarrow will entail as far as work goes. I believe I have morning sweeps tomarrow..." Hmmm, trailing off again, she mentally reviews her schedule. "Yes.. I'm fairly sure of it." Turning back to Sk'lar and J'avia, "I'm glad you're enjoying Igen's warmth. I rather like it myself."

Ri says, "I don't mind the change of seasons, but sometimes I wonder that Liuth was born to Telgar Weyr, she adores the sun and being hot." A fond glance is given her green as she slumbers away. "And i am sure seclusion is just what you are in need of Sk'lar."

Sk'lar turns a knowing grin onto Ri as she speaks, "Just as long as it is a seclusion with a bit of acceptable company." The bronze at his back rumbles a note, causing the young man to turn about and pay attention.

Halis appears to pay attention again.

N'vis is not surprised by Sita's answer. Not in the least - and this disappoints him somewhat. Workworkwork. Leaning towards the older woman, he smiles, and says in a slightly lower tone, "Remind me to reevaluate your wing duties sometime. I think some leisure time for you would be a good thing." He straightens, and with an apologetic smile, removes himself from the group, "I'm being summoned. Excuse me." he offers by way of an explanation, and then heads for Zheryth's side.

Halis sloshes back from the water with a giggle over her shoulder, "I don't think so Lexie dear." She grabs a robe from her pack and tosses it on before walking back to the group, "Sorry, just had to go get wet. Did I miss anything?"

Sita blinks and mumbles off toward her lifemate, images of nice little duties swimming through her prudish head. Hmm.. wonder if Amber wants that night off..

Sita mounts Halaith.
Halaith flies toward Sky Above Weyr Lake.

Ri seriously considers J'avia's question.. which is a clue in and of itself.. "Honestly? I'd much rather be busy, I think. Sita has more of the right way of it. but a 'touch of Halis' can't be a bad thing." Smiles sent to both afrementioned riders. "I guess I am just used to more work then less. As you know, Healer Hall wasn't any picnic, and before that, I worked the runners with my da."

Halis giggles, "Good." Robe is wrapped around a little tighter with a little shiver. Wait .. a shiver? That's new.

J'avia grins and nods, "Ben can be quite the task master I hear." she lounges back a little and nods further, more thoughtful, "But I think you have the right of it, I've never like all work and no play myself." nose wrinkles a little at the thought.

Sk'lar seems to be finished tending to whatever pertinent situation called for his attention. As Sky approaches the group once more, glancing askance to J'avia at that last comment, "Me... I'm all for play. Even in work."

J'avia glance to Sky as he comes back and chuckles at his remark, "Play with this then." and she tosses him a wingrider knot, "Though be careful, I don't think Ri would want it messed up." shes having so much fun being criptic today.

Sk'lar likes to play with things: Food, knots, others... Knot is fondled for a good long moment before it is tossed in Ri's ddirection. "I think she migh just have a bit more fun with it than I will right now."

Ri can't imagine for a second why she would care what Sk' does to his knot. She isn't responsible for him in any way shape or form. "Better yet, keep it clean for tar.. she's more apt to care, I think."

Ri ducks as it is tossed towards her.. "Mine? really? In your wing?" Eyes to J'avia, and ignoring Sk'.. if he's there too.. ah well, so much for her luck. "Thank you!" Yup, she's a happy little rider today!

J'avia chuckles at Sk'lar and nods, "True, and you've already got your own to play with." She then nods to Ri, "Yes, in Skyskimmer." she nods to Sky, "And meet our newest Wingsecond." a proud little smile lingering on the bronzerider.

J'avia quips playfully, "Some may say I took the slave thing a little too far, but... oh well."

Ri eyes Sk'lar.. Nooooooooooo. And yet.. Forcing a smile.. "Gee, I think we have already, actually." A nod to Liuth and demi-rider stands to her ful height of short. "I hate to leave on such a happy note, but I have been informed that Liuth must eat of perish" A bit dramatic, but so is Li.

Sk'lar turns a knowing glance onto J'avia, "And some might say that I simply didn't refuse too much on the slave role. Suits me." A winks accompanies his bantering words, glance flickering on to Ri, "See, you still have to put up with me, even after being weyrlings."

Ri smoothly moves up Liuth's foreleg, barely needing any assist from the green at all.
Liuth flies toward Sky Above Weyr Lake.

Halis blinks and starts to congradulate Ri but closes her mouth when the greenrider darts off. Then to Sk'lar, "Well, congrats to you anyway." Oh, she's with it today, really she is.

J'avia chuckles and waves off the new wingrider and her dragon, flopping back into the sand as Pralanth whuffs softly in amusement. To Sky, "Well, that was our business here at Igen, your free for a little while." her smile flashing to Halis and her congratualtions.

Sk'lar's smile flickers from J'avia over to Halis. "Well, I suppose it more than makes up for any losses from the other night." Obviously in reference to a little green flight the pair of them attended.

Halis sighs, "Don't even remind me about that Sky. We got back here and after Olexath dropped me off at the weyr he dove right into the lake. I daresay it startled those who were swimming." Though the smirk to her face shows that she found someone to have fun with all the same, ahh the joys of a weyrmate. She clears her throat and then smiles over at Sk'lar, "So, you graudate, participate in your first flight, and become a wingsecond in rather shortorder. Your mind must be running in circles right now."

J'avia grins at Sky, "Almost makes me regret Pralanth wasn't interisted." she winks playfully but stands and dusts the sands from her pants, "And speaking of which, Pralanth and I need to see Re'a so Im heading back to Igen. Sk'lar, the rest of your day is free, and tomarrow. But I want you to report to my office the day after at three candlemarks after sunrise." she then grins at Hali's words and tumps Sky on the shoulder, the small woman rather powerful for such a compact form, 'I wouldn't have picked him if I didn't know he could handle it."

Sk'lar glances after J'avia, bobbing his head in agreement. "Forever at her beck and call. I'll be there." He doesn't exactly wince at the thump, but does grin all the more. His attention slips back to Halis, "Ahhh, a cold dunk can do wonders at times like that. As for the running in circles, lets just say that I'm enjoying it while it lasts."

Halis laughs, "Good plan."

J'avia grins at Sky and then waves as she goes to Pralanth, "I'll see you back at the Weyr, and it was nice seeing you again Halis!"

J'avia grabs onto the sturdy leather straps and pulls herself up to sit comfortably astride Pralanth.
Pralanth glides with the beat and thrum of dragonic magesty, honey glistend wings taking him toward Sky Above Weyr Lake.

Sk'lar laughs as he looks to Halis, "Well, seeing as I took for granted my position during weyrlinghood and learned that what one is given, is so easily taken away...."

Halis smirks and nods, "That graduation was rather interesting. Tarlin and Toria nearly stepped on me when Re'a teased you with your knot."

Sk'lar grins wryly. And here he thought he was going to get a bit of sweet revenge at that proddy flight. Still, Re'a with B'unz was just as good. "It didn't happen as I expected, but then, nothing usually does." Eyes flicker with amusement. "Stepped on? That would have made things all the more... interesting."

Halis shakes her head, "No, it wouldn't have been interesting. It would have caused a wonderfully sparklie bluerider to stand up quickly, no doubt knocking over weyrwoman and cook." She itches the end of her nods with the back of her hand with a sigh, "I shouldn't have gone between so soon after the flight last night. Think I'm comming down with somethin."

"Ri was a Healer, she might have been able to suggest something if you are." Sky quirks his head to the side, glancing askance at the bronze. "Ahhh, Faranth. Apparently the rest of my day being free doesn't apply when a certain greenrider demands my services." His lips quirk to the side, "Jar opening." Brit'ni is hopeless. "My duties," he drawls before moving over to the lifemate.

Sk'lar climbs onto Kahlendroth's forelimb only to have the bronze launch him into the air to land squarely bestride the bronze's neck.
