Or "Ruffige Creu - Kris Biscuit" as it says on the sleeve! The thing you've gotta wonder these days is just how much influence Goldie had on this and other later records. Not too long after this the mighty "Terminator" was released, a record which for some changed the face of hardcore forever. But who exactly wrote the tunes? The credits on this one are Goldie and DJ Freebase but it could have been anyone it seems on later Metalheads records. At the end of the day, this is one damn fine tune - don't miss it. |

"Anasthasia" was the Who's That Beat / XL chart-busting anthem, "Nocturne" the (in my opinion) superior Also Sprach Zarathustra-sampling follow-up, and this the third in the series. Now long-signed to the Columbia label, this is a curious 12", as the longest of the four tracks (club mix 2) clocks in at a fleeting 3mins44 - not exactly epic proportions. Anyway, the tune is a belter with "and you thought the beat slowed down... come on!" samples, harsh stabs and pounding breaks. Definitely not one to pass by, this was proof once again that the euro style was a driving force in early 90s rave. |
