"He probably has a plaque on the wall at home." -Nick. "The hush puppy king." -AJ. "That's what the guys always ride me about, working fast food." -Brian.)

Love: "Breaking up with my first love was the biggest disappointment of my life."

Accessories: Stud earrings and a silver chain with a big cross (worth $2,000)-but his favorite is a gold chain with a "B-Rok" pendant that he got when he was in Australia

What Attracts Him To Girls: He is attracted most to a girl's eyes, but he likes somebody to whom having her own career is important and who treats him like a normal person; since Brian considers himself old-fashioned and respectful, he is looking for a girl who shares his values. "A girl who is herself. What attracts me is a girl with a good sense of humor. One who likes to listen and be spontaneous."

Major Turnoff: Racism. "Self-centered people drive me crazy, also unhappy people."

Biggest Indulgences: "I buy things for my family and bring them on the road. Of course, I bought a house."

Scariest Stuff: "I got mobbed for the first time by fans in Germany and had my clothes ripped and my hat taken off my head." When he was five years old, his heart suddenly stopped beating for about 30 seconds. "I remember them taking me out of bed and putting me in a tub of ice to cool my body off. Then they put me back in bed with only a sheet to cover me. Ten minutes later, they put me back in the ice. This kept up for an hour. Then I blacked out." Last November, doctors discovered that the congenital hole in Brian's heart had caused the organ to enlarge considerably. If it wasn't operated on soon, his life would be danger. "My intial thought was, 'Great timing!'" Brian says sighing. The Boys were finally successful in the US, thanks to their chart-topping single, "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)." Two months without a lead singer would seriously impact the group. So, for the benefit of his band-and against his parents' wishes-Brian put off the procedure for six months. (He finally underwent surgery in May and is now fully recovered.)

Dream Date: Picinic in the park. "Getting to really know someone."

Embarassing Moment: "I kicked one of my shoes off on stage during a fast dance routine and had to hop around on one foot until Kevin made his way across stage to get it for me. The show must go on! And, one time I was concentrating real hard on this real hard dance move. And I completely forgot the words to the song that I was singing so I just humming. The guys were no help that juat laughed."

Surprise Possession: A king-sized water bed he bought for $50

If He Weren't In Show Biz....: "I'd be at college-I was offered a singing scholarship to the University of Cincinnati Bible College."

Secrets: "I was popular as a kid. I was know as 'that blond-headed little singer boy.' I was held back in the first grade because of my illness [at age five]. I was a year older than my friends after that. I'm usually shy till I get to know a person, then I turn into a ham."

Secret Confession: "I bite my fingernails-I've tried to stop but I can't. It bothers me because when I'm signing autographs, the girls are like, 'You bite your nails!'"
