But your friend does not have the key to any lock that you have. How do you do it? Note that you cannot send a key in an unlocked box, since it might be copied.
Answer: Attach a lock to the ring. Send it to her. She attaches her own lock and sends it back. You remove your lock and

Note: Smoking IS BAD for you, and you should try, I hope, to stay out of prison.
You have behaved VERY badly and end up in prison. Consistently you also like to smoke, but you only have 10 used pieces of cigarettes. However, from 3 used pieces, you can make one cigarette and smoke it (after smoking one cigarette you get a used cigarette again). How many cigarettes can you smoke during your long stay in the dungeons?
Answer: 5. --First you make out of nine used cigarettes three cigarettes and smoke them. You have now 1 (10-9) + 3 (the 3 you just smoked) = 4 used cigarettes. Then you make one out of three used cigarettes. You have now 1 (4-3) + 1 (the one you just smoked) = 2 used cigarettes. Then you lend a used cigarette from an other guy in prison and make a fifth cigarette.
You smoke it and give the guy the used cigarette back. You have now smoked 5 cigarettes.
