William F. Trenholm (known as Frenchy most of his life) went to Watertown High School but quit to help out the family. He later went back to finish high school and graduated from Watertown High School in 1940. She was the apple of her father's eye and a very good little girl. THe only real time she was in trouble was when she was sent upstairs when she was young to clean her room. SHe did not want to clean it so she spit down the register tot he downstairs. She always denied doing this but her mother sworn to the story and said she was severely punished for it.
In 1928 she moved with her family to Henry, South Dakota, where they operated a dairy farm and later moved to a farm one mile west of Henry, SD. After William completed his special training in the Army, they moved to Macomb, Illinois where he was stationed at Camp Ellis, Illinois. On June 11, 1945, a daughter was born to them in Watertown, South Dakota. Virginia and her daughter, Roxanne, lived with Virginia's parents in Henry, South Dakota until William came back from serving in the army during World War II at which time they moved to Watertown, South Dakota.

Notes for ROXANNE TRENHOLM:
Roxanne Virginia Trenholm was born on June 11, 1945, to William Francis Trenholm and Virginia Rawlins Trenholm, at Bartron Hospital, in Watertown, South Dakota. She started school at Lincoln Grade School in Watertown, South DAkota and she and her parents lived at 11 3rd Street SE in Watertown. She had a pet Boston Terrier puppy, named Toy, who walked her to school every day. On her 6th birthday she was given a pet kitten, named Fluffy, and she loved to wheel her cat around dressed in doll clothes and in a doll buggy. That started her lifelong love for cats and she was never without one for long.
When Roxanne was 7 years old she moved with her parents to Wessington SPrings, South Dakota and she attended school there until she finished the 6th grade. At that time the family again moved, this time to Redfield, South Dakota, and she completed her education, grading from Redfield High School in 1963. She was active in the band and took many trips with the Redfield Band. She also loved debate and excelled in Math and English and took part in plays during high school.
In 1965 Roxanne moved to Watertown, SD where she lived for a time with her grandparents and went to work for Midland National Life Insurance Company. In 1967 she quit there and on January 2, 1968 she went to work as a medical secretary for Bartron Clinic in Watertown, SD. On February 9, 1969 she married Ross Mitchell in Watertown, SD. The following January, 1970 they were divorced as he was a severe alcoholic and she could not handle a life like that.
In March, 1970 she met Richard Alan Rossow and on June 4, 1970 they were married in Watertown, South DAkota at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gustav Van Tassel officiating. They spent their honeymoon in the Black Hills where they did a lot of trout fishing.
On June 24, 1971 a daughter, Rochelle Lynne Rossow was born in Watertown, South DAkota.
In 1972 they purchased two acres of land on Lake Pelican near Watertown and built a new home there. On Noveber, 1973 they moved into their new home and on December 11, 1973, their second daughter, Noelle Lea Rossow, was born.
After the birth of Noelle, Roxanne worked for Dr. E. H. Heinrichs, a pediatrician in Watertown, as his secretary until his retirement and then in November, 1977 she went to work as a legal secretary for Ross H. Oviatt in Watertown.
In 1982 she and Richard Rossow were divorced and she moved with her daughters into Watertown. She met Arvold L. Hardie in Redfield, SD when she was back there visiting and on December 24, 1984 they were married. On September 6, 1986, a son was born to Roxanne and Arvold, Shane Edwin Hardie.
Roxanne worked in the legal field until 1996 when her father got very ill and she quit work to help care for him until his death. A month after her father's death, her husband, Arvold was diagnosed with tonsil cancer and underwent radiation therapy and surgery and then recovery so Roxanne did not go back to work and became a housewife and stay-at-home mother.
Arvold and Roxanne had purchased a home at 109 9th Street SE, WAtertown, South Dakota, in 1985 and at this writing are still residing in that home.
