There are so many ways you can help me promote Scratching Post. Get the name out there! Just by requesting Rock Past It or Bloodflame to your local radio station you would be doing the band a world of favour. No guarentees the station will have even heard of them, but it will get them wondering!

Dave Tags
The history of the Dave tag is as follows: Last summer Scratching Post was playing at the Toronto Street Festival, the regulars of the Scratching Post message board were trying to think of a way to recognise each other and someone suggested wearing name tags. Somehow the idea came about that the SP fans should wear name tags with all the same name, someone suggested the name Dave and it just kind of stuck. Scratching Post fans are now called "Daves".
A few months ago I was trying to think of a way to help spread the word about Scratching Post and their website, since they had just posted new demos on there. So I created these new Dave Tags (shown above) and handed them out to some people I knew that went to the local highschool. They went nuts plastering them on lockers, lamp posts, telephone booths and everywhere they could. I realized that this idea could work so I spoke to a few people I know online and mailed more Dave Tags to these people who live all over the US.
The "Hello My Name Is" stickers are really inexpensive, you can buy them at most dollar stores and if you use permanent marker, they can be posted anywhere outdoors without the ink running. There's a few that I stuck on mailboxes that have been in the crappy Canadian climate since September that still look the same as they did the day I stuck 'em there.
All you have to do is write "Dave" and "www.scratchingpost.com" and voila! Instant advertising! I like to hand them out to my younger brother and his friends & tell them to go nuts. It amazes me some of the places I've seen Dave Tags.
So, go get a pack of "Hello My Name Is" stickers and start spreading the word!!
