This is sad: M'iki lost his own life, causing both of his dragons, gold Lorith and blue Kuzalth, jumped between forever. View the story here.
J'din's blue Puryth has died, because of an accident in flight training. J'din's straps broke in mid-air, and although Puryth tried to save him, he met his demise on the sharp rocks below, and Puryth committed suicide.
The last Threadfall of this Pass. Laroa and Ganith were flying well, Ganith getting slightly broody for her next clutch. Suddenly, they spied a clump of Thread missed by the other riders. Ganith charged forward, as she was in an ideal position to get to it. Now, everything would have been fine had not a young blue weyrling from another Weyr also tried to get to it, flaming before Laroa got her flamethrower on. Ganith, who was moving at a very fast speed, tried to stop. She swerved and landed right into a clump of Thread. Screaming, the mortally injured dragon instantly went between to the Weyr. At the end of the Pass, Ganith died. All the dragons gave tribute to her as the blue weyrling profusely apologized and kept repeating that if he "hadn't gone after the Thread Ganith would have..." Laroa died only minutes later. Her last words were "And a time for every purpose under Heaven." What could she have meant...?
(Hint: Laroa is a direct descendent of Master Robinton; Robinton had a son in The Masterharper of Pern. ::nods:: Yes, he did. Read it, issa very good book. ^_^ Okay, I'm hyper, I'll shut up now.)
