Virtual Tour: University of Minnesota, page 2

Downtown Minneapolis

There are some great views of downtown from the Minneapolis campus. On the right is Kolthoff Hall.

Weisman Art Museum

Looking for some culture? Then visit the Weisman Art Museum! It contains a permanent contemporary American Art exhibit, and other exhibits which change a few times a year. Students at the U sometimes call it the "Fred," because it is named after Frederick R. Weisman. Each fall live bands play at here, and we call this the "Funk at the Fred." Use your imaginiation to determine what it is supposed to look like.

Weisman and Comstock Hall

Another view of Weisman, from the Washington Ave. Bridge, with Comstock Hall to the right. Behind, in the middle of the picture, with the greenish roof, is Coffman; the tall, tan building is Moos Tower. To the left of Moos are other buildings in the health sciences complex.

Downtown

Closer view of Downtown Minneapolis, on the banks of the Mississippi River. Things weren't very green when I took these pictures at the end of March. But the river is always green. ;) In front of downtown, on the left, is the MetroDome, where the Gophers play football and baseball, and where the Twins and Vikings play.
