1957 (1)
The first Dutchman to appear in a European Cup Final (for Club teams) was a referee: Leo Horn, he was leading the European Final of 1957 in Madrid (124.000 spectators) between Real Madrid and Fiorentina, final score: 2-0.
1958 (1)
A Dutch player called Koot, played for the London Select XI in the 1958-Final of the Fairs Cup. In the first leg at Stamford Bridge Koot was defending well, although they tied 2-2 against Barcelona.
1962 (1)
The Amsterdam-final of the European Cup in 1962 was played for 65.000 spectators in the Olympic Stadium between Benfica and Real Madrid. Eusebio scored twice for the Portuguese side and Puskas scored a hattrick in the first half. Benfica won 5-3 all in front of referee Leo Horn.
1963 (1)
After Amsterdam, Rotterdam had to have their final in the Feijenoord Stadium for the 1963 Cup Winners Cup final between Tottenham Hotspurs and Atletico de Madrid. In front of 49.000 spectators Dutch referee Van Leeuwen the Spurs won 5-1.
1969 (13)
The European Cup final of 1969 was played for only 31.000 spectators between AC Milan and Ajax. In Madrid the Italian side won 4-1 (with 3 goals of Prati). The Dutch part of the game was given by: Goalkeeper Bals, defenders Suurbier (substituted by Muller), Hulshoff and Van Duivenbode. The midfieldplayers were: Pronk and Groot (substituted by Nuninga). Trainer Rinus Michels had the golden trio Cruijff, Swart and Keizer in front.
Besides this final the Cup Winners Cup was played in Basle ( St Jakob) between Slovan Bratislava and Barcelona. Final score 3-2 under the eyes of Dutch ref
