Arie van Lent is almost as famous as Willy Lippens....
and the both played at Rot Weisse Essen!
Arie played at:
Sparta Opheusden (Hol)
Oldenburg VfB
Werder Bremen
SpVgg Greuther Furth
Borussia Mönchengladbach
Eintracht Frankfurt
Rot Weiss Essen
Van Lent scored a hattrick at Werder Bremen (9-5-1997 against 1. Fc Köln (3-2) and a hattrick at Borussia MG (5-2-2002) again against 1.Fc Köln (4-0)!! Arie van Lent has both the Dutch and German nationality.
Willy Lippens was a German born in Hau (W-Germany) who had a Dutch father who never changed his passport. So he became a Dutch International!
He played one Cap in 1971 (Rotterdam)against Luxemburg and scored the first goal (Holland won, 6-0).
Willy was called Die Ente (The Duck) because of the way he walked....waggled!
Played for Rot Weiss Essen and Borussia Dortmund, in 1970/71 season he was scoring 19 goals for RW Essen! (A Dutch record)
