Kakeru was from the Sailor Moon S Movie. He was an astrologist who earned doctorates in Physics, Biology, Medicine, and Astrological Engineering. He hypothesized that there was mystical life on the Moon, but nobody believed him. He was the person who discovered the evil Ice Queen's comet, and he named it Princess Snow Kaguya. When the Ice Queen's crystal fell from her comet to the Earth, Kakeru was the person who noticed it from his observatory and retrieved it. Because he took posession of the crystal, it linked it's evil power to Kakeru's body. So as the Ice Queen froze more and more of the Earth, he was in more and more pain and was very ill. He was also the man that Luna had fallen in love with. When Luna was walking home sick, she felt dizzy and collapsed in the street. Just before a car ran over her, Kakeru jumped in and saved her. He took her to his residence, the observatory, and helped her heal from her fever. He also put a yellow ribbon on her neck before she went home. Luna later discovered that Kakeru was in love with Himeko, and she became heart-broken. Luna realized that the evil energy of the crystal linked to him would not go away even if the crystal was destroyed. Thus Luna wished to become human and pose as the "Princess Snow Kaguya" so he would be happy and be able to fight of the evil energy. In the end, Sailor Moon uses the Silver Crystal to turn Luna into a human for a few minutes and she poses as the Princess and Kakeru is saved. As a human, Luna takes Kakeru into space and they watch the sunrise. Luna is disappointed that Kakeru loves Himeko and not her because she is a cat, but Luna then finds her real love: Artemis.
