Metallia was a dark entity who used a woman named Beryl as it's incarnate. With Beryl and her army of brain-washed humans, Metallia helped destroy the Moon Kingdom in the Silver Millenium. The Inner Sailor Soldiers used their attacks on Metallia, but they had not affect, and Metallia killed them all along with Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity. However, when Queen Serenity used the full power of the Silver Crystal, Metallia, Beryl, and her army were banished. But when Beryl awoke once again in the present, she gathered energy from humans to fully awaken Metallia once again. Once Metallia had been revived, she ordered Beryl to find the Seven Rainbow Crystals that would create the Silver Crystal. As Metallia's power grew stronger, more black spots appeared on the Sun's surface. When Queen Beryl was pierced by Prince Endymion's rose, Metallia bonded together with Beryl's body so she could destroy Princess Serenity. However they were both killed by the light of the Silver Crystal.
Queen Beryl
Beryl was a human woman who was possesed by Queen Metallia and became it's incarnate. The strong and evil powers of Queen Metallia infested most of the earth and created it's army of hatred and evil. This became the Dark Kingdom and Beryl became it's Queen. She and her army attacked the Moon Kingdom in the Silver Millenium in hopes to rule the Universe. But she was banished by Queen Serenity and her Silver Crystal.
Queen Beryl awoke in the present and ruled over the Dark Kingdom. Now free, Beryl and her Army set out to enslave Earth. At first, Beryl ordered Jadeite and Nephlite to gather energy from earth beings and use it to awaken Queen Metallia. After she revived Queen Metallia, she ordered the last two of her four generals, Zoisite and Kunzite to find the Seven Rainbow Crystals which together would bond and create the Silver Crystal. She was killed when Queen Metallia infested her body, and Princess Serenity along with the Sailor Soldiers used the Silver Crystal to abolish them.
Jadeite
Jadeite was one of the four Kings of the Dark Kingdom and Queen Beryls first General. His mission was to gather energy from the earth beings and bring it back to the Dark Kingdom to try to awaken Queen Metallia. He would have servants from the Dark Kingdom called youmas collect vast amounts of energy from large crowds, but Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, and Sailor Mars kept foiling his objectives. After failing too gahter enough energy or kill Sailor Moon, Mercury, and Mars, Queen Beryl gave him a final chance to prove himself worthy. He lured the Soldiers into an airport by threatening to destroy the whole city. While there, he saw them transform and now knew their identities. He took control of airplanes and would direct them towards the Soldiers. The Soldiers eventually defeated him with the help of Tuxedo Mask. When he returned to Queen Beryl, she froze him in an eternal sleep for his failures, even though he knew the Soldiers human identities. put Jadeite into an eternal sleep and replaced his command with Nephrite.
Nephrite
Nephrite was the second general of the Dark Kingdom and replaced Jadeite's command. Nephrite's mission was to also gather energy from earth and bring it back to the Dark Kingdom to harness the power of Queen Metallia. However, he gathered energy in a different method than Jadeite. He would find a single victim using his black crystal, he would raise that individual's energy level, collect all their energy, and then unleash a youma to attack the Sailor Soldiers. On Earth, he posed as a man named Sanjouin Masato which helped him communicate with his victims. He eventually fell in love with Usagi's best friend, Osaka Naru. At the time, Nephrite was in a competition with another of Beryl's Generals, Zoisite. When Zoisite found out that Nephrite was in love with Naru, she kidnapped Naru and wanted to trade her for Nephrite's black crystal. Nephrite found and saved Naru from Zoisite's youmas. The two fled to a park were Naru tried to bandage Nephrite's wounds. Zoisite and her youmas found Nephrite and Naru again and Zoisite stole Nephrite's crystal and dissappeared. The Sailor Soldiers were able to rescue Naru and destroy the youmas, but Nephrite was to weak to live and he died.
Zoisite
Zoisite was the third general of the Dark Kingdom. His mission was to recover the Seven Rainbow Crystals that were hidden inside Earth Beings so they could create the Silver Crystal. He used Nephrite's black crystal to find victims and to reveal the Rainbow Crystals. When the crystals were taken from the carrier's body, they turned into a youma. Only Sailor Moon's Moon Stick could turn them back to human beings.
Zoisite was Kunzite's lover. They teamed up together to kill the Sailor Soldiers and to get the Rainbow Crystals that Tuxedo Mask had taken. Later on, Zoisite tried to kill Tuxedo Mask because he hated him extremely. However, Beryl captured Tuxedo Mask and killed Zoisite because she was in love with Tuxedo Mask and wanted him captured, not killed. After her death, Kunzite became Beryl's new mission leader.
Kunzite
Kunzite was the fourth and final general of Queen Beryl's army. He was also Queen Beryl's most powerful warrior. His mission was to find out who Sailor Moon's human identity was so they could get the Silver Crystal from her. For this, he turned people into youmas and used them to find people that maybe could be Sailor Moon. For example, he used one of his youmas to set up a Princess School so he could see young girls that might be Princess Serenity. He completely dispised Sailor Moon because he blamed her for Zoisites death, and also felt a strong hatred for Tuxedo Mask. When Mamoru was captured and turned into Evil Prince Endymion, the two of them fought constantly. They would argue over who controlled the mission and would always disaggree on each other's plans and ideas. When he and Zoisite teamed-up together, he used Zoisite disguised as Sailor Moon to catch Tuxedo Mask. He also trapped Sailor Moon, Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter in a black dome that slowly shrank in size. Sailor Venus then first appeared and saved them by attacking Kunzite with her "Crescent Beam" attack. Kunzite had the strength and ability to destroy the Soldiers, and even lured them into the Dark Kingdom. While there, he threw the Soldiers in a time warp which is how they ended up on the Moon during the Silver Millenium and learn about their past lives there. Queen Serenity helps them return and they face Kunzite. He injures the other Soldiers, but Sailor Moon uses her wand to deflect back one of his blades. The blade hits him in the chest and he dies.
