~ Blood Dance: Roll Call ~

Asher: A master vampire created by the same vampire as Jean-Claude. Extremely beautiful and extremely deadly, he gives his allegiance only to Jean-Claude, his one-time lover, and Anita, the woman that he loves but knows he cannot have. The Council considers him a threat because he continues to stay with Jean-Claude, and has issued several threats to harm the Council should its members enter Jean-Claude’s territory without permission.

Trowa Barton: Gundam pilot of Heavyarms, known for his startling insight and silent stoicism. The lover of Quatre Raberba Winner, he is also a force-changed werewolf, bound to Quatre in order to keep his beast from interfering with their missions. Family is important to him, and he’ll do anything to protect his friends. The werewolves call him “The Silent One” because they cannot sense him or his power, something that occasionally comes in handy.

Anita Blake: A highly powerful Necromancer, one of only a handful in existence. It is because of her that the Council fears Jean-Claude so much; she is not only his human servant and lover, she is his third in a true Triumvirate. Anita lives by her own morals and principles, but once she decides on a course of action she sticks to it till the end. Known for her odd sense of humour and her habit of shooting first and asking questions later, Anita is not someone to be taken lightly. Her interest in Duo is personal, and she’ll take on the Council itself to keep him alive.

Dorothy Catalonia: The grand-daughter of Duke Dermail, the man behind the Romefeller Foundation, Dorothy seems to be nothing more than a double agent between her grandfather and Relena Darlian Peacecraft. In truth, she one of the few wereleopards left in existence, and Duo’s sudden appearance brings her secret out into the open. Even though she is on the run from Romefeller, she will prove to be a valuable asset with her knowledge of subterfuge and Romefeller’s resources.

Chang Wufei: Considered the last of the Chang and Long Clans, Wufei seems to be a cold, deadly fighter at best. In reality, he is afraid of developing bonds with anyone because of the losses he has suffered in his young life. Over the two years of fighting, he developed a deep respect and love for two of his fellow pilots. He kept this to himself until recently. As the last of the Long Clan, traditional guardians of the great shikigami Shenlong, it is his duty to guard the dragon from those who would seek to misuse its power. During a fight in space, Wufei suffered sever internal trauma, and was forced to partially assimilate with Shenlong in order to survive.

Damian: The cold, pale redhead is Jean-Claude’s lieutenant, and like Asher his loyalty is unswerving. He is also Anita’s vampire-to-call, since she once raised him from the dead, and then brought him back from the brink of death again not long after. His beauty is cold and untouchable; even though he is almost two thousand years old, he will never be as strong as a master vampire, and he spent much of his first thousand years as a plaything for those that were stronger. He is currently being courted by Jason, though he seems to be rather oblivious to the boy’s affections.

Ellinea: Her full name is Ellinea von Elfheim Terasidhe, once a powerful member of the Seelie Court aristocracy. She is beautiful and power hungry, and her lust for power caused her fall from status when she entered the World of Iron in search of prey to steal power from. Caught by the Seelie Court seventeen years ago, she was returned to the Realm of the Sidhe and placed under Seelie Ward: if she should enter the World of Iron ever again, and if she began to hunt people, she is subject to death on sight. It is unknown for sure why she is interested in Duo, especially given that he wasn’t aware that he had any Shadowkind abilites.

Jason: Actually the third Jason to have worked for Jean-Claude, he is a descendant of the original werewolf of Richard’s pack and bares an almost uncanny resemblance to his ancestor. He willingly took up the “curse” of lycanthropy (it runs in his family), and has been serving Jean-Claude since he was thirteen. Something of a playboy, he is a favourite among Jean-Claude’s retinue. He’s had a crush on Damian since he was sixteen, and has but recently begun to show his interest. He takes a liking to Duo and tries to break him into his new world as gently as possible.

Jean-Claude: A master vampire descended from the legendary Bella Morte. He is nearly a thousand years old, and is considered to be a member of the Council though he actually refuses to take the seat. The Council fears him for many reasons, not the least of which is his Triumavarite of the necromaner, Anita Blake, and the Alpha werewolf, Richard Zeeman. His talents are many, but his main source of power comes from sexual energy; he is one of a rare few whose powers are that of an incubus. He will protect Duo because Anita has asked him to, but more because of the fact of his companion, Heero Yuy…

Treize Khushrenada: Once the head of OZ, the Alliance’s Special Forces backed by the Romefeller Foundation, Treize has fallen upon hard times. Exiled by Duke Dermail, he has retreated to his Luxembourg estate, watching as those soldiers loyal to him fight in his name, the ‘Treize Faction,’ against Romefeller. He wouldn’t even be interested in Duo if it weren’t for the fact that he received an anonymous tip that the hitherto missing Lady Une may be heading to the young Gundam pilot. A clairvoyant of some notable talent, he often employed his skills to sway crowds to his side. Recently, though, he’d found the habit to be distasteful, and tries to avoid contact with anyone.

Duo Maxwell: Self-styled Shinigami, Duo is considered the light-hearted jokester of the group. Possessed of a quick wit and a wide stubborn streak, he almost never backs down from a fight. He fell in love with the 01 pilot, Heero Yuy, and experienced a devastating loss when it appeared that Heero had died during a mission. He seems to be having a hard time adjusting to the fact that Heero “came back from the dead,” as he puts it, and spends a lot of time drinking himself into oblivion. Lately, though, he seems to be getting the hang of things and the old Duo is beginning to show a lot more. Maybe it’s the fact that he found out he had a family. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s being pursued by not one, but two gorgeous young men. Then again, maybe it’s the fact that he can turn into a big, violet-eyed panther…

Zechs Merquise: Once known as the Lightning Count of Oz, Zechs has hung up his mask and his Oz uniform for something a little different. Through dealing with Gundam Epyon’s oddly built ZERO system, he has discovered his unique heritage bequeathed to he and his sister by their mother. When your mother was a Daoine Sidhe who fell in love with a human, all sorts of genetic benefits appear. Zechs is fighting for his own brand of justice, and to protect his sister. He heads to join Duo when he hears about Ellinea and finds out that there may be a possible connection to his mother.

Miburou (Saitou Hajime): As it was in the past, it is hard to tell if Saitou Hajime is a good guy or a bad guy. His motives for being involved with Ellinea are unclear, but his involvement worries those close to Duo. Once captain of the Shinsengumi’s Third Division, and then a policemen for the Meiji government, Saitou still firmly believes in his mantra of Aku Soku Zan: kill evil instantly. As a vampire he is feared by the Council for his unusual talent of bending shadows and mind enthrallment; there are few other than Jean-Claude and possibly Asher that can stand against him. He appears to have no real interest in Duo himself; Duo’s many times great-grandfather though…

Lucrezia Noin: A somewhat naïve white witch, Lucrezia had all but given up the craft when she heard about the odd things that were happening around Relena Peacecraft. Becoming Relena’s personal secretary and bodyguard, she had to take up the practice once again in order to protect the young leader from the curses and poisons that were used against her. Now that Zechs is back on Earth, she longs to join back up with him and help him in his quest.

Relean Darlian Peacecraft: Currently the Queen of the World, a figurehead placed by the Romefeller Foundation. Relena is headstrong and somewhat naïve—tendencies that often end up with her getting into trouble. Due to the numerous tragedies that have occurred in her life, she has latched onto Heero Yuy as a lifesaver, wanting to emulate his strength, wanting to be near him no matter what. Her habit of trailing the Gundam Pilots around the world has grown somewhat irritating, and has even caused them a near miss with OZ and Romefeller a time or three.

Sally Po: Ex-Alliance officer Sally Po is an armed and dangerous terrorist. At least, that’s what the world-at-large thinks. Sally, however, is just trying to stay alive and fight for what’s right—and maybe take out a few shady politicians in the process. A modern day Shadowkind vigilante, Sally gives her loyalty only to those who earn it. And to her, the Gundam pilots have earned it. Don’t mess with a girl who’d just as soon shoot you as she would kiss you.

Shinta (Himura Kenshin): Having gone by many names over the years, the redhead that once fought as a hitokiri for the Ishinshishi has found it best to return to the name given to him by his teacher hundreds of years ago: Shinta. The traumatic experiences that he and Saitou share from the past have caused his mind to become somewhat foggy; he goes through bouts of lucidity and blankness. Unable to die, Shinta often feels that life is an unfair burden, and shows little interest in the world (other than dancing) until Duo arrives. Now that he knows Duo’s secret, and that Ellinea is after him, the protective instincts of Himura Kenshin and the rage of the Hitokiri Battousai have him reaching for a sword once again. Too bad he lost his sakabatou during the Restoration…

Lady Middie Une: Lady Une’s only drive in life is to serve Treize Khushrenada; no one’s exactly sure why, but her long association with him seems to have caused the woman to suffer from split-personality disorder. However, she’s not someone to be taken lightly; a master politician and strategist, Lady Une knows more about planning attacks and plotting political intrigue that most twice her age. What exactly she’s capable of if pressured is unsure; most, however, are unwilling to push this woman to far, fearing that which is unknown.

Quatre Raberba Winner: To the world-at-large, Quatre is famous for being the heir of L-4’s large Winner Corporation. But to those of the Shadowkind, Quatre is known as the son of the Aspect Queen, the only woman to ever master all three aspects of magic. She was being hunted for her talent near the time of Quatre’s conception, and in order to deny her hunter of her powers, she passed them on to her son. Quatre may seem innocent, but underneath his wide eyes lies a heart hardened by the loss of his mother and father, and by his power forcing him to grow up quickly. His loyalty, once given, is unswerving, and his protective instincts are far greater than most his age.

Heero Yuy: Raised as an assassin since his earliest memory, Heero has always known that he was different from other people. Once in Doctor J.’s care, the Barton Foundation asked that the boy be turned into the perfect soldier, the perfect human possible. But Heero wasn’t human, at least not completely, and no matter what tests he was put through, no matter how hard they tried to break him, they could not rid him of the humanness that is emotion. Despite his better judgement, he continues to fight in order to protect those he now considers his family, and to protect those he loves.

Richard Zeeman: An Alpha werewolf and the third member of the Triumvirate consisting of Jean-Claude and Anita Blake. Richard used to be something of a pushover; once a middle school teacher, he tried hard to avoid the darker side to his nature. Now, however, he had very few ties to the world outside of the Shadowkind; mess with this wolf now and you’ll find out that his bark is no longer worse than his bite.
