I asked for the one
whose eyes wouldn't let me look away
would warm my soul
and make me feel safe
contain truths only I could see
radiate emotions meant only for me

whose smile would come to heal me
would stay with me
melt me and reveal me
would seem to open up a door
to something I'd been destined for

I asked for the one
whose touch would come to wake my life
to spark my days
and soothe my nights
would flush and dizzy me like wine
whose hands were made to fit with mine

I would feel with every breath in me
